I'm Ukrainian...I would have wanted a wedding like this... Priest was Amazing!!! My parents did greet me with bread and salt...after a simple court ceremony. I thought love would make all things possible, that I would never feel alone, or hurt. It's not the way it turned out. Had I been smart I would have married the boy that truly loved me...and did things to prove it. I don't think anyone else would want to love me the he did. I have a lot of things in this life, but no one to love or be loved by. There is nothing more exciting and beautiful than being in love....

gosh wonder where all those folk are now .. brings tears to see whats happening in 2022

My classmate, who moved with her family to Toronto back in the 1990s, always laughs at you, like her family, although her grandmother is a native of the Ukrainian SSR.

I keep watching again and again this video and I love it more every time I watch it. Even though I don't understand the language - I loved the whole church ceremony and I love the father ( priest ) figure especially when he talks to the couple after the ceremony is over. Such a great video - it brings me tears of joy every time I watch it. God Bless the newlyweds !!!!

Никаких традиций и тем более великих Украина не имеет, потому что Украина в нынешнем виде появилась только что лет назад. Ukraine does not have any traditions, much less great ones, because Ukraine in its current form only appeared years ago.

Thank you for the reply, Novastar---I'd wondered over time if things were very different now, if the newlyweds and all those they love were safe, and even if that magnificent chapel (tserkva?) is still standing, with all those beautiful religious symbols and icons and valuable, irreplaceable items of the service. The wedding was so beautiful and innocent and touching, it struck my heart and stayed there as a vital, lasting part of my prayers for those brave people affected by the conflict.

@@janjackson1273 I believe in Canada, where newlyweds have lived their entire adult lives, it is much safer than in the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine. However, the Church is located in the Carpathian region, whereveverything is as safe there as in Canada

Ukrainian girls are the kindest and most beautiful I’ve ever seen specially when they come from small towns. Still Traditional and very Godly. I have a cousin married to a Ukrainian girl and having a great happy family. I want to come to Ukrainian in the near future to find a kind and beautiful wife like this. Unfortunately, there are websites that claim to work as match makers in the west but in reality they make money by posting girls profiles and charge money for emailing back and fourth until you get tired of spending for nothing and eventually give up.

Can someone please tell me what is the name of the instrument playing in the background video between the 1" and 1:45" It sounds exactly as a Greek traditional instrument called "santouri" that you hear a lot on Greek islands folkcloric music.
