Growing up in the Uk during the 1960s I remember Sunday Night at the London Palladium on tv. The Beatles performed there in 1963. The term "Beatlemania" was coined following their performance. She appeared in Las Vegas on the stage where Elvis performed, and in London where the Beatles performed. One day people will be saying that they played on the same stage where Angelina Jordan performed.

It’s the love for real music. Real singing and a Real Artis.

A phrase popped into my head on my hike today: "Angelina is a songwriter's singer". When she covers a song, she honors the writer.

In regards to Doug - I told you, and now you know I was not exaggerating - Douglas is the real deal, the definition of MEGA FAN, or ULTRA FAN. maybe we should start a new term for such high-level devotees : "ArchANGELs" If you think my "Angelina IQ" / knowledge is at all noteworthy, it is literally nothing when placed next to Douglas - and that is a FACT ! 😇Jim

I really do get what you are saying,, but I don't believe that Angelina would label anyone of her fans in levels,,, because in her mind we're all the same,,, I've been behind this treasure from day one (#1068),,, and been to 8 concerts sense she was 8yrs old,, and I'm no different than someone that just fell in love with her in her mind (I believe)or in mine for that matter,, ❤️ LOVE AN HOPE🙏 👣

@@davidfehlman5150 You misinterpret - the level is only a measure of time really - not quality. I wouldn't claim that any single one of us ever cares for her more or less. Simply the amount of free-time that is devoted to the cause. That's it.

Alan, first mistake, NEVER ask for an interview. Just tell her who you are, what you do, and then go for it, apologies later. lol. My limit would be 1000 miles for a 4 minute song with Angelina; there's always another train in the morning, who needs to sleep and God bless Doug Switzer. 🤣❤❤❤🌹🎶👣😇🇨🇦 Edit: BTW I've seen about half of those pictures from Doug.

I knew about all those pictures, Quincy Jones Birthday I believe that's why she was in London. Not sure if this latest was her second time or even more. Once I searched on google her pictures shared and kept scrolling down for hours hopefully I'll find something interesting and missed.

You traveled there because of the incredible passionate effect her singing has on you. Those of us who also feel this way about her singing can identify with you.

Well done Alan - your persistence paid off! I didn't get a ticket, but I took my wife along to hang around outside. As the last of the audience were filing into the the venue a striking blond lady happened to catch my eye as she walked past us. Time was short as she had to get back in before the show started. She filmed us, saying that she wanted to show Angelina that we had been there. We exchanged hugs and took a picture with my wife. The last thing we asked was about a concert in London - she said yes there will be but no dates yet...

@@SteveAckerman-ly3qg I live in the outskirts of London, so not too long a journey for us. I first met Sara in Norway in 2022 at the final concert in Sandefjord.

Glad you made the decision to go, Alan. You were able to get some footage from a unique vantage point with that tele-lens clip-on that James was able to include in his video of the performance. BTW, listen closely to that wonderful introduction that Toby Gad gave Angelina and you'll hear him quickly say, "perform a song with me". Here's the full quote: "What’s better than seeing the best superstar in the world perform a song with me is to see the next best superstar that the world hasn’t discovered yet. I'm so happy you got to see her Alan. She lights up the place wherever she goes.... like a supernova.

But you ARE a journalist, Alan! You and Pontus have an amazing podcast, and you've been chronicling Angelina's journey for years. I hope one day you'll get that interview with one of Angelina's family.

I was there as well Alan. I got the last online ticket Saturday morning. Travelled from Colchester so not as far as you but it was well worth it. As you say there is nobody as special live as Angelina.

Excellent story Alan! Thanks for sharing it with us. Doug’s “superfandom” is hard to beat. He flew in to attend the first official meeting of “Angels of the Hudson Valley” - a new Angelina Jordan fangroup based just above NYC, formed with the efforts of Steve Ackerman. I got a chance to meet James Riley, your friend and the wonderful narrator of “Angelina Jordan - The Early Years.” It certainly is reflective of who Angelina is, to realize her fans from all over the world take her “mission” seriously. That is, to “…spread love and be kind to one another.” 🫶💛

She is simply the best live performer I have ever heard. I’m so glad you were able to be there.

Alan, you can tell from the level of enthusiasm in your voice that is was worth it. Until Angelina comes to the forefront in public awareness, each event like this will be special. The fact that you and Douglas and James contributed to the wonderful video made it even more special.❤

Thanks Alan for the very nice video and description of your journey to London for Angie "the next superstar"! Her voice... I don't know how to define it anymore, it's a continuous wonder of warm and powerful tones, whispers and breaths, accompanied by phrasing techniques and musical dynamics that she's always had, but that she's developing in a wonderful way as time goes on. I still don't understand how she practically monopolized my listening to music, but she's been doing it for 10 years and I can only be happy and lucky to have met her.💛🧡❤

Thank you for being our eyes & ears. To have two of my favorite lady singers on one stage would be great. Angelina of course is my favorite, but before I discovered her I found Louisa Johnson on Britain X Factor 2015. She is a belter! AJ is an all out complete package.

It depends on how important it is to you to hear/see something live. It's not comparable to 120 miles for 4 minutes, but I've also been to Munich (300 miles) or Hamburg (230 miles) for 1 hour concerts - occasionally also by flight to London (e.g. Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the Royal Albert Hall ) or to Vienna. Interesting that you confirm the impression I had after watching some of the other performances on the Jumpin Sounds channel - somehow it looks strangely out of place, like there's a professional there among ambitious college graduates (even if most are a few years older than her). As for the impact for younger people - there are about 5k videos on the Jumpin sounds channel, and Angelina's is now about No. 60 by views, on the other hand, the 60 videos ahead of hers are so many lengths ahead that you can see where the preferences are. But of course every occasion like this helps to make her better known outside of the existing fan base.

Alan, you covered it from A to Z ! Of course you had to go. The way you told us the story, ALL OF US were with you throughout the entire experience you had. We were with you on the train, sitting next to you in the theatre and roaming the hallways to see if you would get lucky! When the train arrived back in Bristol you got off and, just like a miracle, ALL OF US were suddenly back home. "Thanks for taking ALL OF US with you!"

First of all it is mostly journalists that asks permission first for a recorded talk that's why probably Sara is asking if you're one. I dont think its about who are in the radar... When Chris Walker saw them at the LAX last year Sara also asked him if he's filming. But Sara recognized that he's filming as a fan so it was never a problem. I think Sara and Angelina are extra careful with fly by journalists because of some reasons that are obvious. BTW im sure the long trip for a 3 minute song is worth it. 😉 Thanks Allan for your story.

Those lens work great I bought a cheap 3 PC set a couple years ago. Which had telephoto,macro,wide angle and all work really great. Think they were like 20.00$ The one mentioned here may be much more highend not sure. That's dedication for 3 minutes, plan cat hing her life e myself hopefully before she is a complete world star. Time running out! But seems be always short notice for events and in this economy planning is essential for some.

I’m not sure I agree with your assessment of the crowds response..seemed pretty raucous to me but of course you were there I wasn’t..remember also these fans are more likely to be Toby Gad fans..it’s good to see her exposed to a younger audience…btw I’m super relieved hear Sara was there too..call me old fashioned but Angelina is still young and I seriously don’t trust the music industry !

AJ rocked it. However I'm not a fan of this particular song. It did display her gorgeous lower register to the point where the mic almost couldn't reproduce it.... at least in the videos I've seen. Perhaps this was just the recording and not what was experienced live?

I think if i was Angelina i would of turned down that gig, the song sucked. She did a great job with it ,as usual, but i didn't care for the song.

Why would she turn down the chance to sing for a songwriter she once called a living legend, with whom she seems to have great personal and musical chemistry, who can open multiple doors in the industry and introduce her to his network, and who is a wonderful promoter of her and who seems to genuinely understand and appreciate her talent?? Just because it may not be a song she's enamored with?
