Gorgeous place to visit. I'm both a geography geek and a volcano geek, so I'd probably feel on top of the world the whole time. Thanks for taking me vicariously to so many places I'd like to visit. The walk up to the volcano you went down into felt like something right out of Lord of the Rings. Very Mordor-like. I kept expecting Gollum to pop up out of nowhere!

Travels to island, first thing she is impressed by is rocks. Never change Rachel, keep rocking!

As a person who drives nearly every day, I couldn’t fathom not driving for 8 years! Absolutely stunning and definitely plan to visit one day.

Thanks for sharing this side of your life. What an adventure! So sorry that you both fell ill but these things do happen. Glad you are well and made it back safe and sound. You will always have these amazing memories. Cheers!

I had flashbacks of my trip and it filled me with so much joy. I’m glad you shared this this. The path above the waterfall you couldn’t go on was a life changing experience for me, I’m really bummed you couldn’t go. For everyone else that reads this: GO THERE!! GO TO ICELAND. Rent a car, and just go explore. So much beauty and you can’t help but be in reverence every moment you are there.

Be very careful when driving in the boonies, esp when bad weather threatens. Some tourists get into dangerous situations unexpectedly.

The Gullfoss waterfall (at about 1.35 in your video) is where (Liverpool band) Echo and the Bunnymen shot their video for "The Cutter" way back in 1982 The Bunnymen are not your sort of metal band, but were an iconic 1980s British guitar band Have a look.

Wow! I was looking forward to this vlog and Iceland looks so peaceful and beautiful..I agree that some parts look like you're on another planet. My favorites were the volcano and the lagoon. Also cool u got to see the Northern Lights. Sucks u got sick but the silver lining was that it gave u the confidence and occasion to drive again. Thanks for sharing your Icelandic adventures and really appreciate the subtitles.

The volcano was so cool, it was really hard to capture the feeling through the video! Hopefully the subtitles helped, the audio was a bit rough with all of the wind!

spent an xmas in iceland a few years back visiting an art college friend. spent a little time in Reykjavick before travelling to the east coast to hunker down in Seyðisfjörður. The landscape is stunning and the people were so nice. The days were topsy turvy at that time of year and you realise that if you don't take care to adjust to the surroundings properly this stunning place will kill you. I think this awareness of nature is something very noticeable in the people and culture. great to see you venturing out

This was fun and unexpected from you. Last week I went down a rabbit hole of YT videos of Iceland as it's one of the few places in the world I'd like to visit - I'm in Australia, so it's about as far away from home as I can get. You really needed some shots of you shredding in front of the waterfalls and maybe the Auroras!

It really is! The wind made it a lot colder as well, but with windbreaking clothes it usually wasn't too too bad :). The volcano was definitely one of my highlights, such a cool experience! Really hard to capture on camera though; the tour operator said people lose their phones quite often during the descent 😅

This is cool! 🥶 😂 I’ve always been curious about Greenland. You should connect with KLOS Guitars next time you travel. They have an amazing carbon fiber travel guitar that is perfect for all climates - like the real deal bidirectional carbon fiber that won’t break or budge, not that plastic resin with ground up powdered CF that shatters and breaks easily (such as with the Lava, Rainsong, and other such “carbon fiber” import guitars. I bet KLOS would loan a guitar to you or sponsor you entirely. Would be cool to see you playing guitar in some unique places!

I realize I have already commented, but I wanted to say that I’m happy you got back when you did. Iceland has had over a thousand earthquakes since Oct 24, leading experts to believe that an eruption is imminent.

Looks lovely to visit but I don’t think I would be brave enough to go into the volcano!!

Seems like now is not the time to visit, until the volcano gods calm down. I think this whole are is evacuated? Could be wrong. Excellent video, btw. Much happy. Despite setbacks.
