It was a real treat to have a walkthrough explaining materials also -let's face it we all love art materials 🙂 - love the colour combinations and mixed media

I'm really happy it was useful . Art materials are always a temptation in waiting!
One thing you don’t do is overwork. So so artistic. Love it. Thanks for description of your materials-wow.

Partially it's a time factor and the more you do it the more you understand when something is close to finished
Your voice is so soothing, I love watching your videos. And a big thank you for sharing your art supplies. Can't wait to create!!!

This was so informative! I always love peering into your gorgeous sketchbooks, and it was a real treat to learn from you in Spain.

Oh my gosh thanks so much Helen - the pleasure was mine. Thank you for your kind words ! Also check out my new gelli print sketchbook texture video
Great video Ohn Mar, really interesting to see what you used on each page. I loved the pages from Spain; the tower in Malaga, and the views around the villa - beautiful 😍

Thank you so much! I would love to spend a week in Malaga sketching - there so much to see
I am still learning to simplify and not overwork, also paring down my on the go supplies. This video has been hugely helpful to me. Thanks!

Wonderful!
I love your work! There's something about your use of color that I find so inspiring. I only like sketching on location with limited pens and pencils. I do not like juggling palettes of paint when out and about. I also find sketching on location to take away from my time with anyone I'm currently with, so I prefer doing the most basic sketches solo and filling them in with colors later from a photo.

That's a great idea!
I agree with keeping it simple. Just got back from a cottage. I took too much and ended up using just my watercolors, a white posca, two water brushes, a black liner, pencil and eraser. I will finish the details here at home.

this looks so good, what a gorgeous aesthetic ☺☺
Another terrific video! I tend to overpack and then I get frustrated juggling supplies. Most of the time I mainly use my Watercolors and a couple of pencils. I need to remind myself of this!❤

Problem when you have so many art supplies that you have to balance them on your knees when painting on location. Most of my materials in the shoulder bag and just dipping to it when I need it
Fabulous sketches and advice as always !!

Thank you so much 😀
I appreciate this so much! "Without getting too precious." and the upside/rightside up layouts made me feel seen! 💗 Thanks, so much for sharing these! It feels inspirational without feeling like a sketch practice is unobtainable! Thanks for showing work in process!

@@OhnMarWinArtI paint in Massachusetts (US)! I’ve recently started sketching more outside/out and about! I already prepped some pages for a sketch lunch club this week!
Have been wanting to sketch with different colors. Thought about fountain pens. Love your colored pencil sketching. But ouch-expensive.

Love love love your video & art!!! ❤
Hi, I was wondering why you've changed from the Jackson's quill brush to a proarte quill brush. I enjoyed your video and it was interesting to find out what supplies you use

Yes I wondered the same thing too… I bought a Jackson’s quill brush (which I haven’t yet used) based on your recommendations 🤔 btw loved you specifically showing us what you used in each piece, thx 😊🎨✏️
thanks so much...love watching your vids...do u have a video on how you start a sketch? is it a random background first and then details? I have problems with proportions and perspective when I start out even thou I understand them..any hints?

Thanks for taking the time to watch today. Do you paint on location?
This really was a treat to watch Ohn Mar. I have Covid at the moment and not physically up to doing much. Your video came at just the right time and took my mind off things for a while. I love that you did your pre-prepared backgrounds, they are so effective. How long would you have taken to do the ice cream van sketch?

@@OhnMarWinArt I try to paint when I go on holiday mainly but get a bit self conscious so don’t do it as much as I would like. I think this is where the pre prepared backgrounds come in handy as they are ready and waiting to go.
Lovely as always ❤ How do you decide which colour materials to pack when only taking a limited amount?
@OhnMarWinArt

I need a pen or pencil that has a dark value. Something that is of Mid value and something that is of light value and that's pretty much all I need. It's not even about the colours

@@OhnMarWinArt that seems so obvious now you say it. I should have known that 😆
I replayed the first minute or so a few times to see if you mentioned what you used to make the texture on the paper when starting a sketchbook. I tried looking for the link for that and couldn’t find it. Searched through your videos as well. Would you be so kind to please link the video. Thank you so much and great work!!!

Hello! Thank you for sharing, the pink bg texture you repeat in some sketches are made with that tempera stick or watercolor?
