I'm glad I'm not the only one who absolutely despises the IG-88 figure. He's so short/thin and the weight isn't balanced at all. Mine can stand if arms are to the side and he's just like...a stick. That's boring. And he doesn't even stand well at that so I literally have him sitting on my shelf with his legs dangling off the edge. That figure needs a remake in the worst way possible. I can forgive Boba and Jango Fett because I can still get decent poses out of them since you just need to worry about things like blasters. They can get into decent enough poses. They aren't perfect, but they're workable. IG-88 is just straight trash though. And I have to agree about Chewbacca as well. I love him, but my version gets a bit bow legged at times and his bandolier slips down below his shoulder and it irks me. Oh, and his bowcaster is always falling apart to the point where I keep telling myself that I'm just going to glue it together, but I never do.

It’s weird that sergeant Kreel is the only stormtrooper on the 2020 body with a holster. They clearly have the new mold so maybe that fleet trooper and stormtrooper 2 pack will have the holster

@@MikeKaess The TIE Pilot is one that I wasn't even happy with when he was brand new. And unfortunately we don't have a giant OT-era TIE Fighter to sit him in to hide his gangly stick-legs and comically oversized boots. The only thing about the TIE Fighter Pilot that should be comically oversized (if we are truly concerned about screen accuracy) is his helmet.

I have so many on this list that it will get expensive to replace them all.

I would like to see the 'Empire Strikes Back' Re released: Nien Number, Lobotomy, Beslpn Guards, Twin Pod Fighter and its Pilots. Some Ugnaughts and 21-B medical Droid, Princess Leia in Bespin Gown. This would close out My Black Series Collection and Retire me from collecting. Also I'd like to see an X-Wing Fighter Black Series and Vader's Tie Fighter.

It’s a great movie for sure

I really like this format. I dig the graphics, the transitions and always love the little sounds and film snippets that get sprinkled in. I 100% agree with your list. I would have to add any of the Imperial pilots and the death trooper. They constantly fall and the arm articulation is pretty bad. Every trooper should be able to execute a good aiming pose, even if they can't hit anything.

Figures that need a proper update are 2 from gaming greats, one is a 2020 stormtrooper body imperial shock trooper with a holster and a dlt-19 another good use for that body is a shadow stormtrooper like the gaming greats vintage collection figure. Also a good idea for a new hope 2-pack is han & luke with stormtrooper armor.

A shock trooper on the 2020 body would be amazing tbh. I got rid of all my 2014 stormtrooper figures in hopes of them remaking them

Kinda funny you say Greedo is perfect - upon his release everyone lamented the fact that his eyes are completely the wrong shape - they should be round. Don’t see what the fuss about articulation is - I just pose them once on my shelf. I think next year they could do the force awakens humans with photo real - those are the most needed along with Krennic

Great vid Mike. You always make me chuckle. Re: Chewie, a furry rubber overlay on the torso, bicep swivel on the arms and butterfly joints to get that bowcaster into aiming position. A ball joint at the base of the neck and in the skull would get some expressive poses, and hey how about giving blaster bolt effects with the gun toting figs? All the figs you mention need an update. I'd add the Emperor's red guards. Their legs are skinny and gummy, they have huge hands and a ridiculously teeny blaster. The one that came with the Imp patrol Trooper was a better size.

Han and Chewie are the last two I need for the display stand that came with 40th anniversary Vader. I want to wait for re releases since the current options aren’t the best. We’ll see how the new Luke and Leia compare as well.

Timely list! I agree with all your picks and hope TBS is entering a refresh phase. Top of my list is Jabba's Prisoner Leia. Not even a look I'm attached to, but more of a symbolic gesture, sex-positive course correction / affirmation that sex-negativity has no place in a healthy fandom. There's plenty to criticize about the context and creation of this look, just as there is regarding Han's predatory behavior in ESB, Anakin 66ing children - they still got figures tho. The two can coexist. This figure is needed to complete a Jabba's palace setup for when the core cast is present - she's no longer Boushh once Luke shows up. Whatever is stopping them from making it is not good and they need to get over it. Or to quote Carrie Fisher on the matter "I think that's stupid."

​@MikeKaess I guess I assumed there is something stopping them other than just finding a window of opportunity, so hopefully that is just a rumor. I thought it was kind of a conspicuous absence from ROTJ 40th when they rereleased Jabba + throne, prisoner Chewie twice, skiff Lando, and essentially Jabba's palace Luke, but then again it's not like they made drink tray R2 or hibernation sickness Han. They really are just getting started retooling old nontroop figures, and maybe they just don't want to do an archive/anniversary repack.

Hello Mike thanks for sharing your thoughts on older black series figures that are overdue for resculpts. Every R2 and R5 that has been released in black series needs to be released on the updated astromech body. The Imperial Snow Trooper needs a resculpt, the Imperial Scout Trooper looks good but could be so much better ( I want one that can aim a sniper rifle). Yes every Gaming Greats Stormtrooper variant needs the updated body.. Commander Cody, Gree, and Fox need to be updated as well. IG-88 and IG-11 are in need of new bodies and Bossk as well. Absolutely agree wirh RotS Anakin and Obi Wan. Id also say they should do a new Bespin Luke. Like they kinda already have about half of a new one with the legs and head of the Dagobah training Luke, they just need to make a new torso and arms. Also, even though it isnt that old but this is just for me personally, i want them to make another stab at that Clone Wars Season 7 Ahsoka. Those rebels Ahsoka arms and legs infuriate me so much, they are not accurate at all and its so difficult to have her stand properly and grip her lightsabers naturally

I’m really surprised at how often I hear the collecting community as a whole talk about wanting figures to be redone. I don’t disagree with any of the figures you show in this vid showing some age in one way or another. Like most collectors, I have a list of figures that we don’t yet have in the line that I want to see made. While we have gotten a few of the long wanted characters released in the last couple years, my list of wanted new characters is still a good 25-30 strong. There is not a single figure that you highlight here that I want a new version of MORE than I want ANY of those 25-30 most wanted new figures to be made. Not one. So that said, I’m fine with getting some redo figures, but I would prefer to see it limited to 1 or at the most 2 per year in favor of all new characters. There are quite a few new characters that I think could be created using existing parts from other black series figures with maybe just a new head or a new head and some minor new overlay tooling. That is what I most want from the line.

I think both can be true, and I don’t necessarily see them as one or the other. I think it’s fun to think about how older figures could be better had they been made now instead of at the beginning of the line. But yes, there are a lot of new figures I want too.

Hmmm so the old figures need an update? I guess. Of the ones you name I’ll pick three of my most wanted better figure of that character because the original design and execution is not taking good articulation/proportions/paint into consideration. IG -88. I want a droid figure that does more than the figure did in the film, basically stand there looking like a mega cappuccino maker. Han. New Hope Han made us fall in love with that character. Please make a better Han. Lastly Chewie. I’m not sure how it can be made better with all the fur. My Bespin Chewie is the best one so far. I want a great Han and Chewbacca.

Anakin is number 1 for me. Hayden's Anakin doesn't have single good figure. Padawan and ROTS Anakin articulation is so poor. The only Anakin that is kind of good is TCW Anakin that to me doesn't look like Hayden at all. Also the fact that all his Anakin figures are very expensive. Hopefully rumors are true and new one is on the way. Leia and Boba had some really good figures, but I agree that Huttslayer Leia needs desperately an update so she is also my number 2
