    I'm so glad you mentioned the newer version of the Wilson Evolution because I noticed the same thing. They've improved a lot, in my opinion. The new Evolutions handle sweat much better and the grip and bounce feel more consistent as well. I actually used to be an Evolution hater but the newer model has changed my opinion.

    You're not the only one. I cannot stand the Evolution, either. It's a heavy, slippery, with channels that are too deep and wide and feels like a kids nerf ball. My main go-to ball has always been the NBA Official game ball and now the Spalding TF Model M.

    I have a TF-1000 Precision and I felt similar to how you do about the Legacy. I can confirm it feels 10x better after a month or two of consistent use. It really breaks up the panels and gives a softer feeling akin to an Evolution out the box. That's what a lot of people don't understand about basketballs. They buy the Evolution because they think it's the best feeling one out the box. Yet after they play with it for awhile, it turns from an okay feeling ball into feeling like a wet sponge. It becomes way too soft to the point where a broken in Evolution almost feels like a nerf covered ball. The harder balls like Tf-1000, The Rock, leather balls, etc is that sure they don't feel as nice right out the box but once they are broke in the sweet spot is even better and longer lasting. That's my opinion after 20 some odd years of hooping. Evolution isn't bad don't get me wrong, it's just not the greatest ball in the world like every gym in America will make you think.

  • @sneakeraplus
    @sneakeraplus Жыл бұрын

    For the TF1000 legacy. I initially thought the same as you did. That is sucked 100% when I got it, playing on an indoor gym. However some kid at my gym mistakenly left with it, and I didn't get it back until about 3 weeks later. It turned out he had been playing outdoors with it... When I got it back, it was a whole lot better. Better traction, and was softer as well.

    As someone who has used a Spalding TF Model M for several weeks now, I can go into more detail about it. Before that ball, I used the NBA official game balls for years. For me, weight wise, these two balls feel identical. I even weighed a brand new NBA game ball and my brand new Model M and the weights were identical on my scale. The slight difference is the feel right out of the box. The model M feels further along in the break in process. It feels a bit softer, and maybe the pebbles feel ever so slightly flatter? Mine is still not broken in fully, but I sometimes feel that maybe the NBA official has a slightly more predictable bounce, but that could be comparing my other fully broken in chocolate colored NBA ball to my Model M that has only been used for about 5 weeks now. Maybe it's my still healing finger that could be making me dribble slightly differently. Shooting, they feel exactly the same. I am a person who is hyper sensitive and notice even the most subtle of slight changes in anything, and I can say that there is zero difference shooting this ball compared to the NBA game ball.

    @@EverythingBasketballs Here is an update. My ball having less air than I expected after checking the PSI was the reason for the worse bounce. Once I inflated it back to 8 PSI, the bounce became perfect and identical to my Spalding NBA ball. Some of the balls I have owned lose air faster than others. It's the luck of the draw, and unfortunately my Model M loses air faster than my previous ball. I do not think it is a problem with all Model Ms, but simply inconsistency in the manufacturing.
