    Awesome list, TechMaf! I'm still debating between that Sony tripod you mentioned and the Magnus VT-4000. I may end up getting both. I've just got some reaaallllly old flimsy tripods that I use for now, which were hand-me-downs from my dad from years ago. I know I desperately need something new, though. Glad I watched this video today, because now I'm going to go re-watch your full review of this Sony tripod to see if I just want to grab this one now, and maybe the other one later as a secondary tripod.

    Thanks guys, I've had my a6000 for almost two years now and mostly shoot video... I enjoy this camera very much, a great camera at it's price point, love the auto focus on this camera... also I'm a fan of the aps-c/super 35 sensor, good quality and the 1.5 crop factor gives the zoom reach I like... Oh yea, Jess is so pretty... Thx, Moses...

    Good job as always... I like a monopod and have downsized the pod that I use for my heavier Canon DSLR gear. The pod I chose is (believe it or not!) the Amazon Basics Graphite Monopod... At under $50 and under one pound in weight, it is a great combination; ESPECIALLY with a L bracket on my camera. My generic Arca Compatible L bracket costs under fifteen dollars, fits very well and works great shifting from vertical to horizontal (works great on a tripod also).

    To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. kzread.infoUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

    I would say that something that may complement you list is a remote shutter. Depending on the type of photography they can be very convenient. From your list, I think that there are probably better tripods out in the market more photo oriented, maybe the last line of Vanguard is a good choice.

    Hi! Greetings from China!! I really love your videos because they helped me saving a lot of money! Before I saw your videos, I have already purchased an a6500 and a SEL16-70 ZA. Now I updated my a6500 to an a7 iii and bought an old NEX 5R for daily and travel uses. The ZA lens is a bit heavy and not enough for telephoto. Noticing the ZA lenses have some problems with its quality control and my ZA lens performs really good, I wonder weather I should sell it for a SEL 18-135 lens or buy a SEL 16-50 lense and a VPR1 tripod...

    Everybody talks about the compactness of the A6000, which is very correct. The negative is that I am 6’5” and have big hands, can palm a basketball with my left or right hand. I really can’t hold the A6000 without my fingers changing the buttons or getting in the way. So I went with a quick mount for mounting on a rail. The handle was round PVC, some nuts and bolts for mounting. Then wrapped the PVC with nick cork handlebar tape. I went with a bigger diameter for my big hands. Gives me a very solid grip. I have even integrated remote triggers into the PVC.

    Love your videos. One thing I want to add concerning the SD cards: The A6000 seems to top out at about 36MB/s write speed. The 300 MB/s UHS-II shown is of course in no way necessary for the A6000 and even the suggested 100 MB/s is a lot more than the camera can handle. I think you have to find a sweet spot between speed, price and longevity of the cards, since you may use them for some years to come even after a camera upgrade.

  • @MrPhilbautista

    @MrPhilbautista

    You'll need the faster write speed to record the best video but you're right about the 300MB/s being overkill. 100MB/s write speed should be good enough.

    Great videos. Thanks! I am looking at picking up an a6000 as a second camera to my HEAVY Pentax dslr. I am doing this to go light and small. My question is about lenses. Specifically, is there a list of lenses that are corrected in-camera (distortion, etc.) I am considering several non-sony's: Sigma 19mm f2.8, Tamron 24mm f2.8. Right now, I don't intend to post-process. I just want to take advantage of the in-camera compensation of jpeg's. Favorite photos are scenery, historic buildings, travel. I have also considered Viltrox 23mm f1.4. (too big/heavy), and Sony 28mm f2 (not sure that I'd like the 28mm (42 EQV). Again, think I want light and compact. (Note: I have apsc 35(50) and 50(75) with the Pentax.) How can I find the lenses that are corrected in-a6000. Certain firmware versions? Thanks. Joe W.

    I'm looking to buy a Sony camera and am on a budget. Is the A6500 really worth the $300 more than the A6300 especially if I am going to buy a gimbal?
