    Good list but there are movies outside Hollywood. I liked the video because of se foreign entries. I would add sone Leningrad cowboy movies. Some Scandinavian pictures. Some more Russian, Japanese, Chinese movies. Just more international overall. Some Latin American movies as well. City of god anyone?

    @@tarzantabi7845 BTW, I guess you like Yi Yi more than A Brighter Summer Day. I love both but prefer A Brighter Summer Day over Yi Yi. Edward Yang is a master of camera work and utilising the space nevertheless.

    Nice list. I appreciate the foreign and older films included. Recently saw "Benjamin Button" and thought it was a misfire. I would replace "Saving Private Ryan" with "Thin Red Line"and "The Shining "with "Rosemary's Baby."

    I went into Benjamin Button almost cold, with little knowledge about it and expectations. It blew me away. This bizarre, strange, Twilight zone story surprised me in the modern era of copycat/reboot movies. The performances and atmosphere is understated yet moving with a still relevant message of the value of life.

    @@ritahorvath8207 I understand and respect your opinion, I think the tree of life is a very subjective film, it may not resonate with everyone but I really liked it's way of telling a story, with full of hidden motives and symbolisms, it leaves a lot of room for interpretation. It is like '2001 a space Odyssey' of the 21st century

    Great list ! So many amazing films, some of them I haven't watched, would love to watch trainspotting and pans labyrinth. And I agree with your take on gravity, I can see why so many people don't like it but it was something unique and gripping for the first time I saw it, but after watching a certain more films it has been overshadowed but still a great film in my unpopular opinion.

    @@experimentalcinema9352 Yeah! I downgraded Nolan over the Years because my Knowledge of Film is better than 10 or 5 Years ago. But I'm not one of those Cineasts, who say, Nolan is bullsh... I think we can be happy to have those, maybe ten Hollywood- Directors, who still can create their own Visions. And Nolan is not without good reason one of them... And I think Dark Knight or Interstellar/Inception/Prestige/Memento are really great/or minimum very good.

    Well I respect your opinion, but the social network is probably one of the best films of its decade, it has some of the best casting ever and has one of the most engaging screenplays. The main reason I love this film is because of its intriguing dialogues that never make me feel tedious after a number of rewatches. Apart from this it explores a lot of themes about friendship and loyalty.

    Well I have made an updated version of this list, it has one film from Kurosawa. Fellini is great, I have seen three of his films and loved all of them, just not in my top 50. As per Nolan, I agree with you, he is definitely not among the best filmmakers but his films inspired me to take more interest in this medium as I watched them first, I think some of his work is genuinely good like Memento or The prestige.

    French new wave is a very important movement in film history no doubt, I have seen few of the french new wave films and quite liked them but they are heavily leaned towards the technical aspects, so they are not among my personal favourites. The 400 blows is an exceptional film though. I don't really enjoy much of Fellini's work but admire him for his challenging filmmaking style. But I was disappointed with raiders of the lost ark and yeah Satyajit ray is a legend, the use of music and cinematography in his film is beyond amazing :)

    @@experimentalcinema9352 Believe me, Good bad and ugly is better than persona. both were released in 1966 persona was an official entry for Sweden for Oscars while TGTBATU is arguably the greatest films with no Oscar nominations. in terms of any rating or any (i mean any great films list) you will 100 % find TGTBATU above persona Raiders at the lost ark is a masterpiece great piece of filmmaking,great cinematography,great action scenes, performances,score,editing,depiction of 30s and its influence how can you say its bad ? it very interesting only action film to be nominated for best film at Oscars. as a matter of preference, it should have won the oscar it was way better than Chariots of fire. at last, i am from India and believe me, here films are not any sort of great . the only director and film which i like from India is Pathar panchali(1955) Only India film to be nearly in every sight&sound 100 greatest films of all time And why some films which i mentioned above is not here

    The Godfather is definitely great ! It's the definition of cinema. But I like persona a bit more because I really like Bergman's approach of storytelling.

    @@experimentalcinema9352 I'll give you a list of must watch films that might change your mind: The Wizard of Oz, Mr. Smith goes to Washington (both from 1939), The grapes of Wrath(from 1940), All the Kings Men(1949), Citizens Kane, All about Eve, Sunset Boulevard, From here to Eternity, On the Waterfront ( one of the greatest films of all time best picture winner 1954), The Ten Commandments, The Bridge on the River Kwai 12 Angry Men,, The Big Country (one of the greatest Western Films of all time 1958), I want to Live( Susan Hayward awarded Best Actress 1958),Ben Hur (11 Oscars 1959), Inherit the Wind(1960), Lawrence of Arabia, My Fair Lady, Dr. Zhivago, In the Heat of the Night(one of the greatest films 1967), Oliver! (Fantastic musical winner 6 Oscars 1968), Funny Girl ( Barbara Streisand's greatest achievement), The French Connection (Gene Hackman 1971), The Godfather 1972( I think the greatest film of all time), Jaws, One flew over the Cookoos Nest, Kramer vs.kramer (Dustin Hoffman's greatest work 1979), and The Elephant Man1980. These are extremely great films that many young people aren't interested in or aware of and they need to be researched and watched, I know what I'm talking about, Thank you!
