My absolute favourite moment was when FDG lists everything she did when leading the iron blood to compiler and said that it was all a gamble and she had won all of them. It was like the best way to assert dominance to everyone.

Dreamwallkers Butterfly was one of my fav's. One of her flashbacks when she was unarmed and only escorted by a handful of destroyers was really sad.

In my heart it always will be "The Golden Doubulin" mini event the best one with that wild dream the Bulin had.

My favorite was Bismarck’s return. A sleeper moment would be U-556 fulfilling her oath and saving Bismark, an oath that is lifted from the pages of history.

That moment is especially satisfying considering the real life history behind their relationship. This relationship between the crews of Bismarck and U-556 was real; the two had been built right next to the each other and Bismarck’s band really did play at U-556’s commissioning as her captain could not afford his own band. In addition, the drawing she gave Bismarck is real as well. And… as shown in the event, by a tragic twist of fate U-556 found herself stalking HMS Ark Royal when she launched her last raid against Bismarck, but had no torpedoes left to stop it.

I’m really hoping Bismarck gets a UR upgrade from being away for so long.

My favorite in-lore moment? Zuikaku's big fucking hero moment during Rondo. The Union, RN, and Iron Blood are all fighting Compiler. Akagi has ordered the SE to stay back as everyone rushes off to what may be inevitable death. What does the homie do? "Hey Akagi, they kinda shot at us, so we can fight back, right?" She and the bois then immediately hop into the fray, with Akagi basically going "as expected... Ah fuck it, why not!" Then, when Compiler tries to use her illusory powers and makes the SE see a truly life-like experience of their port-timeline deaths, what does Zuikaku do? "You know theyre not real, right?" "Yeah, I know." BOOM goes Compiler's illusions and any doubts I had about the quality of Rondo. This is the same Zui that was getting utterly dogged by Observer in like a 5-6 v 1 and was powerless to stop Ember during the Diadem of Light situation. Shes come hella far now, huh? Sasuga, true main character.

The moments that brought tears to my eyes is when they had to relive their alternate endings through Compilers ability, especially when you headpat Saratoga after she sees what happened during operation crossroads(it feels like they missed an opportunity to not include a few lines for Eugene since she was also sent there). Can we expect to see another story compilation by the end of this year?

One of my favourite moments is near the end of Visitor Dyed in Red with the Shoukaku pawn. Just the fact that the soulless and mindless pawn comes to the rescue of her supposed sister is just absolutely amazing to me.

1) U-556 trying to save Biscko hit me like a truck in the feels. 2) The Leviathans being teased 3) Humanity’s “last stand” in that one NP event. 4) Victorious and Tirpitz. This started my slide down the Anti-Royal Navy stance that would be finalized in 5. 5) Sinking of Dunkerque. That whole event helped solidify my position as #TeamCrimsonAxis

There was a line in Rondo that implied that our timelines Bismark had safely gone META. While interesting story wise, it seems like it's foreshadowing how Yostar is going to make old favorites relevant again in the face of all the power creep.

It said she survived it...of which technically Kronshtadt survived hers as well...it's sadly too ambiguous currently for us to know for sure. She could be META or just retrofitted (either is fine tbh)

3:42 I wish to note that while you appear to not mention it Amagi was not entirely altruistic. She shared some of Kaga's feelings over not wanting to become a carrier and go out on her own terms as a big gun ship. That said, being the wiser, more intelligent of the three fox sisters (sorry Tosa) she didn't let that feeling overwhelm her. 7:24 While Akagi is one of the leaders of the Sakura Empire it is in more of a Evil Vizier/Shogun role. So some Megalomania is to be expected.

I’m surprised Tosa hasn’t been used more in the story, as she actually did go out as a battleship… as target practice (there’s some good pictures of her sinking as well)

While i love a handfull of events and moments of the Azur Lane history, i can say with ease at heart that my favorite moment is on the first time a Siren appears in a CG(IRC) that was during the Scherzo of Iron and Blood, on the Third Movement - Great Longing, when Observer appears to speak with Bismarck. And that frase she says to Bismarck ("Humankind, much like a tree, wishes to grow to reach the clouds; the light; the Heavens. As its branches grow, its roots do, too. Deeper and deeper into the ground; into darkness; towards Hell.")i still remember what i felt the fist time i read it and i just fell in love for this game.

Yeah that B.Richard story was fuckin crazy, I was like yo wtf are they dealing with, what faction is this, and so on

Impero is brilliant. Also, There were technically aircraft carriers in WW1. Furious was partially converted into one and seaplane tenders also were in existence.

Good work as always, I actually like the list that you have given, since majority of them are all bigger and expanding lore, which reveals that there is more threat than the siren itself. Very nice, personal favorite would be Rondo's End event. Now when Lore Part 2?

Good video. Personally I would have included Dreamwallkers Butterfly #31 where Shinano see's a 'Leviathan' which introduces the idea that there is something worse than the Sirens out there. Also most of the 'flashback' scenes in Khorovod are pretty lore heavy with Humanity losing a battle against an unknown enemy while making use of AI that just happen to look a lot like Sirens. Finally, not cutscenes but the intelligence files from Operation Siren do contain some very tasty stuff regarding the origins of Wisdom Cube tech , Kansen development, the backstory of BonHomme Richard and my personal favourite - Cold War escalation: Note 3 'Strange hauls from the Deep Sea'. Keep the lore goodness coming!

I definitely didn’t crank the Sabaton music when I read about Bismark’s return.

I was hoping the same as well. Whenever we think of Bismarck on Azur Lane, Sabaton is not far behind since many fans see a nice tie with the two that brings out the best as what we'd like to vision Bismarck to be.

Loved the video. I would have to agree with you and say that Shinano’s event was my favorite. It was really interesting to see the other ‘dreams’ and how she can interact with them. Plus the amount of lore and implications in that event was massive. Video idea: maybe top 5 favorite funny moments, whether from the main storyline or from the side events and collabs. That one should be a fun one.

Bismack return is my favorite, personally i think that was the most epic moment in the game so far.

I'm not particularly a lore guy, but Shinano being the first UR.. I just had to read the event story. Add to that the amazing soundtrack, which is probably my favorite soundtrack for Azur Lane.. It's just wonderful. Sleepy floof best girl.

Allying with Hiryuu META against the arbiters is my favorite moment, specially when Sail Away Justice (the battle menu theme) starts playing and it turns into a scene straight out of a shonen anime. Btw, why not do a top 5 of the secretary quests?

My favorite lore moments are all 3 Soviet Union event since they’re the ones the had the most story development and the defeat of Compiler during the WW1 event because, it’s the most significant thing that’s happened lore wise ever since the game launched.

Hey look man, Akagi just wanted to role paly as Caligula and declare war on the ocean.

My fave moment was when in the Scapa Flow event there were flashbacks to our world's events like operation crossroads or scuttling of the hochseeflotte. And the Purifier going all out versus Bon Homme Richard, while the shipgirls are like, lests GTFO !

I dont even follow the story and I really enjoyed this. It has given me new appreciation for the characters. I hope you make more lore content like this :)

my best moment is ofc the stand off Bismarck against HMS. this event cemented my admiration on her because how she's portrayed in the story. and that event is the beginning of Metamorphosis deviance. while Khronstadt escape the metamorphosis through remembering her friends, Bismarck does that also with the weight of knowing that she has to alter her own fate. Operation Convergence IMO sheds this light by hinting that Bismarck must survive (but also must be sunk) to course correct history so it will not became a failure world/history. also, to this day, i still cry shed tears hearing Bismarck final battle OST. she did her part, reenacting the history with the mind to sacrifice herself to the nation and to humanity. her last regrets about her sisters also add the salts to the wound.

The scene where FDG just revives the old shipgirls from WW1 gave me the chills, but Bismarck's comeback is still one of the best scenes out there

My favorite would be Compiler's defeat 2nd Bismarck's return. Mostly because they're just tied together in the same event. These events help set the stage for Azure lane's true reunification and achieving a true victory over the sirens. Because as we all know even if we destroy them they have many bodies that they could reuse Basically making an Aggravating cycle to A-war that has no end.

For an antagonist that's out to destroy everything, the sirens aren't doing a good job imo. Which makes me think that maybe they're not antagonists at all? Maybe they're one of the first if not THE first version of the shipgirls?

It was pretty much confirmed in Pledge of Radiant Court that Sirens are actually the next evolution of kansen, not the other way around. And even if they're the antagonist, they're not really out to destroy just for the sake of it, as they're more interested in research via reenactment across the multiple universes, and only sought to destroy the anomaly/bugs in their simulation, like an antivirus. The true enemy is already revealed to be the Leviathans, though it is yet to be revealed what their true nature was, whether it is simply a sea monster or the manifestation of META gone horribly haywire.

For both of you, There is a prompt that Hiryuu gives you asking if you wish to stay and fight or retreat. (those two options will dictate which ending you get). If you've already completed it: - Memories -> Records -> Chapter 5. - "Last Light" and "A New Chapter" I believe are both endings.

Hey Lore Master, remind me of a few things: First, after the battle with the 3 Arbiters, META Hiryuu gave something to the Commander, right? I don't think it was ever said what. Did they ever use it, or is it still a mystery? Second, remind me about the whole "real" Akagi and Kaga. I know there was mention after their "deaths" they came across the shore with (or was it without?) a brooch, which tells us the ones we're dealing with now are Pawns?

For the Hiryuu think, if I remember it was a communicator and it is still a mystery if the two have talked since that event, but the commander does have that in his back pocket if he needs to contact the meta’s of her group

I could very well be wrong here but I thought that what Hiryuu META gave to the Commander was the "Classified Intel" that you can view in the Memories Tab under Records, it would make sense given the content of the intel and her line "Sorry, I don't think I can tell you in front of all these people. Take this, and let's call it even".

I don't think the first thing we got has been revealed yet, so who knows still. 2nd - With the brooch missing as well as Zuikaku saying that they sunk at Midway...as for your question. That's very possible...it could be. Unless somehow they were revived in a way similar to how some of the sirens get "revived"

One thing I know from Siren is the way they make Experiments and data gathering, we already know how they are terrifyingly powerful and can obliterate any Kansen if they go all out but instead, they proceed to test every timeline and making test procedure to gain the said "Perfection", now today's event that the kansen powerful figures are making their own spotlights, it seems we are getting closer and closer to the main phase, what I'm waiting for is the future PRs spotlights since they are powerful figures that the siren never encounter in different timelines, along with the other Kansens that never been built completely and how their existence can give more hope and push to every faction, many timelines falls from experiment due to internal conflict orchestrated by history and Sirens trial and error testing, and not to mention if AL Devs will also includes the *SUPER SHIPS* from Wows in future collaboration. I'm just imagining Clausewitz and Hannover's terrifyingly presence while making a casual talk with Hindenburg, Preussen and Manfred Von Richtoffen who is already a powerful figures of iron blood, same for Satsuma making a tea ceremony with Yamato.

Hawk we don't need a 3hr lore video as you've already done the groundwork last year covering previous events. Be nice though to have a shorter catch up on this years events though to keep the story updated. The live streams are fine to watch but also have a lot of discussion between cut scenes that slows the unfolding lore down. Maybe just doing a yearly catchup where videos are between 45mins to 1hr around this time of year would help keep everyone updated and lore story a bit more together.

The loud hms fans I've come across are almost always toxic and are constantly asking for everything they possibly can be they feel entitled. Did any ironblood main, that was sound of mind, expect what became hutten event to be ironblood? H*** no because any of our event ships always ended up as crap, worse side grades or just "ok". Instead of congratulating ironblood for getting a native ur ship, almost exactly one year after there previous event, they where like, "how dare ironblood steal 'our ur event', how dare the devs not just give us an event right this moment." extra. They were so impatient that they would rather have a half a**** event than a proper well done event. It was rushed out just to shut them up.

I wouldn't say that generalization is the main reason (or honestly the reason at all). Azur Lane story has been having a lot of issues for some time. (This started all the way from Shinano's event and varied in severity with each event). Mirror Involution and Rondo at Rainbow's End both have major issues story wise as well. (Helena Meta completely saying different things from CN side and the Ironblood events on CN messed the entire build-up to Rondo completely wrong). This is a bigger issue with translation/localization problems with the game overall. You could ask any lore person in the al-lore discord and they'd probably give you a long list of scenes within multiple events that were completely wrong.

@@ProjectAtlasmodling to add to your Statement, im something of an Iron Blood Main, Sound of mind is questionable, and to the Hutten Event id say, it was open to wether or not the Event would be HMS or KMS, I went to expect it to be a KMS Event, simply because if it was an HMS Event, the only "major" faction in the game without a native UR would be IB, and the chinese would never host an IB or IJN Event on their anniversary, so it would be New Years or never. Turned out to be the right prediction and the lead up to the Actual Event was very heavily IB leaning. I can also recall how pissed HMS Fans were, but to be fair, every faction has entitled Fans that will be loud and unreasonable no matter what. The HMS Fans just happened to be the loudest for a while. Also, what is your opinion on the JP anni? You think we get a Musashi release stacked on top With an FDG fatesim and a new UR retro?

@@TheRealJohnuxthe devs did try to hint that it was ironblood but most of the people i know looked at them and went "an ironblood native UR would be nice but its not happening" for the ur it'll probly be some ship no one has ever heard of before out side of people who have studied japponess naval history like shima and shanona. dr fate sims seem to given to ships that have a very loud group of people claiming there weak. azuma needed it to de gun lock her so i wont complain there but drake didnt need it at all but loud hms fans be damned because the best CA in the game cant beat a CB that it was never ment to go up agenst. As for fred she probably wont if ever. as for Ur retros possibly but probably not because of the gape between pio and warcorgi (or was it sandy? cant rember). It would be nice to see and IB UR retro but even though it been three years (or almost three years) scene Leipzig and Z1 i find it unlikely
