My favorite is the 1000hx because it was my first. Build like none other, never failed, hours upon hours of enjoyment

Over the years I've had a 3, 4, COCO, 1000SX, 100 and a 102. 102 was my favourite and the one I still play with today.

    My first was a MC-10, then a CoCo 2, then a CoCo 3, then a Tandy 1000 can't remember with one. Now I own a 2 CoCo 1's, five CoCo 2's with Multi-pak interface and 3 floppy drives. And a MC-10 and hopefully a CoCo 3 sometime soon.

My collection is small. I have a 1000SX, a TL/3 and a 2500SX/33. For nostalgia’s sake, the 1000SX is probably my favourite because it was the first computer I ever owned as a kid. I have my current one maxed out with upgrades and it is in mint shape. My 2500SX is my most usable, though. It can handle VGA games.

Yeah the Tandy 100OHX is a must in any Tandy Top 5, but you skipped 2 big reasons for it. 1, DOS being in ROM meant instant boot. A huge selling point for 8-bit users moving up from C64, Atari ST, and, yes, the Color Computer and used to instant-on. 2, an especially good bridge to DOS for CoCo users since it could not only (like all Tandy computers regardless of product family) use your existing Tandy printers & modems, it could also use CoCo joysticks, mice, drawing tablets, and even your TV set (if you used one) and monitor stand (Cat. No. 26-210).

There are so many classic Tandy computers out there!

I'd have to knock your RL and TL3 out of the lineup. In their place, you've just got to have the Model III and/or 4. The III was an instant design classic, and the 4 shifting from battleship gray to more modern white took it into another level. Gorgeous machines whose all in one setup eliminated a lot of desk clutter. Not as well-suited for games being monochrome, with no joystick port, needing an external speaker for sound, and needing upgrading for high-res graphics, but well-rounded, solid, great values. To this day what computers are supposed to look like.

I had three of those systems. The 100, the HX, and the CoCo3. Even had a Model 4 along with its massive external hard drive controller unit, tho I never found the actual hd. Still have a complete 1000TX system, but it has a power supply issue.

I can't understand why Tandy never offered an internal hard disk for one of those two iconic drive bays in the III and 4. What on Earth was the point of those behemoth external drives? In particular those external drives greatly undermined a key selling point for the III and 4, namely their being all in one units without the clutter of many different boxes connected by wires.

Yeah the Model 100 (NOT "Tandy 100") is a must in any Tandy top 5. But you skipped great reasons for including it, like being so well-supported by awesome Tandy accessories. Including a printer, the TRP-100 (Cat. No. 26-1275), that despite being portable and battery-powered could print on normal full size paper (not receipt-sized thermal strips). And the Model 100 could be turned into a keyboard of a desktop system, thanks to the Disk/Video Interface (Cat. No. 26-3806) and the VM-2 Monitor (Cat. No. 26-3211). And had built-in modem software. Etc

I agree 100% on the 1000RL, because the 1000 series was so great and the RL is the final, nicest form of it (IMHO). I also really like the '94 model Sensation (250-1651), mostly because it was Tandy's last PC but also because I have one that I've completely maxed-out on upgrades. It's my go-to machine for 90's era DOS games.

You got it right with the Colour Computer 3 at the very top of your list. I think it’s the most fun and one of the more rare Tandy machines. Although it is the only Tandy computer that I’ve owned. I’d love to pick up a Tandy 1000 HX or TX someday. Your collection certainly is impressive!

Tandy 6000. I find a Z80 computer with a 68k on a board and an internal hard drive that is running Xenix very interesting.

Tandy 5000 MC by far. I spent years drooling over the offering in Radio Shack computer catalogs in the 80s/90s knowing I could never afford one. Now I have a museum quality system with 16MB RAM, VGM-200 monitor, SCSI2SD and CD-ROM, and sound! It literally came from the Tandy corporate museum in Fort Worth after the big liquidation fire-sale when they went bankrupt.

If I would have to have a Tandy computer, I'd choose the Tandy 1000 TX (for its original 1000 case), and the 1000 SL (there's something special about the more modern case and the 5.25" floppy drive).
