I love the TBS Westminster. I wish more Bibles were formatted that way. It's the gold standard for me. I compare everything else to it now.

The Large Print TCR KJV Bible is my favorite of all Bibles.. Amen🎉

I became a Bible collecting geek early last year when I won a Post Tenebras Lux rebind. When my enthusiasm was still fresh a Facebook group I had joined tipped me off to the TCR in NKJV genuine leather comfort print for under $20. Your videos about the TCR helped me decide to give it a try. I liked it so much I had to have the Premier Collection NASB when it came out later last year. I'm looking forward to the release of the updated TCR in one of my other favorite translations (ESV) this year. I'm primarily a NASB95/ESV/LSB guy.

With regard to the Schuyler Stridon shown . . . in the NASB 2020, Lockman brought out their Wide Margin edition as a more budget-friendly Bible using the same exact format. No red-letter accents or art gilding or premium leather (faux or genuine leather only) or the Schuyler concordance and maps (the usual Lockman extras at the end), but otherwise it's the same block, on thicker (not quite premium) paper with wider margins. I've just started going through THAT particular Bible; one week in, and I'm almost done with Genesis, along with the first seven Psalms. VERY NICE. As for the actual Schuyler Stridon itself . . . I haven't gone through it yet, but I have it in the *second* translation Schuyler released in that format: *ESV.* I'll be going through that later this year.

If they published the Concord in other translations, it would be amazing.

My top two translations are the NKJV because it has a lot of sub headers so you know what you are reading and the NASB because they add supply words but they are put in a different print and because of all of the translations notes.

I also own a Nelson NKJV Bible, with concordance, that I was using, when i got saved in October 1997. I'll never get rid of that Bible.

There is a new translation called the Modern English Version (MEV), and it is an update of the KJV.

Crossway heritage is my daily reader. It’s phenomenal.

That crossway is gorgeous. I’d like to see the TBS Westminster with thicker paper and Bolder fonts.

Thanks for sharing your favorites, Pastor Randy! I really wish that Cambridge had a calfskin edition of the NIV Clarion. It’d be my daily reading Bible for sure! Alas, I’m not a big fan of the calf-split, and the goatskin just bends too far into the gutter to make long reading sessions comfortable.

I bought the TCR KJV, comfort print, with calf skin. I'm going to use it, too study, when I finish reading the rest of the old testament. I also bought a hard cover comfort print, to read when I'm using my stationary bike, or treadmill. I'm not a fan of single column Bibles.

My favorite is the thompson. I have it in kjv nkjv and nasb it’s just my go to bible because there is very little influence of different denominations

My favorite Bibles in alphabetical order according to translation: CSB * Affordable: CSB Reader's Bible; CSB Single-Column Compact Size Bible. * Premium: CSB Single-Column Personal Size Bible in the Holman Handcrafted Collection (to be released later this year but I know I will love it); Schuyler PSQ. ESV * Affordable: Crossway ESV TruTone Heritage (to be released next month Feb 2024); Crossway ESV Personal Reference Bible. * Premium: Crossway ESV Heirloom Heritage (I have the Prussian blue from Schuyler but there are several awesome ones); Crossway ESV Reader's Bible, 6 vols. set (printed in the Netherlands, not China). NIV * Affordable: NIV Comfort Print Heritage Deluxe; NIV Reader's Bible; NIV Sola Scriptura Bible Project (4 vols.). I think the NIV Sola Scriptura Bible Project is the single best reader's Bible on the market today. * Premium: NIV Comfort Print Heritage Premier Collection. NLT * Affordable: Original single-column Filament NLT (not the newer Filament NLTs which are double-column). It has almost the exact same layout as the far more expensive Schuyler Caxton NLT and Tyndale Select NLT. The main difference is the Filament has no references in the margins, which I actually prefer, whereas the Caxton and Select both have references in the margins. As such, the original Filament NLT can serve as a poor man's Caxton or Select. * Premium: Schuyler Caxton NLT, but it's out of print.

Thank you for sharing. The Westminster has such a perfect design with its system of cross references in my opinion. I only miss subheadings, and that would have been the one. The Clarion is also growing on me, but I haven’t succeeded totally in getting used to single column Bibles yet. I find myself on day to day combining 1. the Turquoise for readability and supreme easy to use references (though a bit thin on references), and also including the translators notes which I like, and 2. the Canterbury with its awesome tasteful layout, and 3. ESV Quentel. A gem that never is far out of reach is the New Strongs Reference Bible. A KJV with subheadings, good reference system, running glossary, OT quotes in NT in capitals, and a complete concordance including all words in the Bible except some small/common ones. Half of the Bible is concordance, and still it’s not a thick Bible. The only downside to the Bible is that it’s a little tight on the line spacing. Still an awesome study Bible since one in no time can find absolutely all places in the Bible containing a certain word. Can be a good combination with such as Thomson or Naves for topical searches.

I have a number of translations however my favorite is the TCR.

In my opinion, for the KJV, the TBS Westminster has the best vbv layout while the TN Paragraph Style has the best paragraph and poetic layout. Great list you have there sir. Thanks for sharing.

I have two Cambridge Clarion bibles. ESV and NKJV. Even with these old eyes, it’s legible and the perfect size. Just got the NKJV deluxe reader’s Bible a few weeks ago. Cambridge Clarion 5. Allan Brevier Clarendon 7C goatskin with full yapp 6. Cambridge KJV-RV Interlinear 7. Allan Longprimer 63 8. TBS Westminster 9. Schuyler Quentel or Canterbury 10. Bullinger’s KJV Companion Bible with 198 appendixes is the best study Bible hands down. Not a fancy binding BUT for deep bible study it’s a must.

Would love to see a premier edition in the KJV paragraph-style thinline bible. Its become my main use bible as well.

I like the layout of the Cambridge Pitt Minion II and wish they'd use it more, like, a KJV Diadem would be nice. People rag on me for liking 2-column paragraph KJVs, but it's just more comfortable for me. That said, I tend to circulate between a Schuyler Treveris, Cambridge Cameo, Cambridge Clarion, TBS Westminster and Allan Clarendon.

Do you like the clarion over the Schuyler psq? I’m eyeing the NASB clarion and Schuyler PSQ. I agree about the goatskin clarion and how it open, does it not bother you the clarion calf skin is not edge lined?

I actually prefer pasted liners because they don't have that awkward hump. The pages stay flatter. Of course, edge-lined usually lasts longer. Between the Clarion and PSQ, it's hard to choose between them. I prefer the size of the PSQ, but I prefer single-column for poetry. With that said, Schuyler does an excellent job with poetry in double-columns. I find that I use the Clarion the most.

At 1:14. The Cambridge Paragraph Bibles are bound in nice leather and use high quality paper. However the price is a shocker, with some Bibles coming in at over $200.

Concord in ESV

I think every translation should offer a verse by verse format that is similar to the concord or long primer.

Yes, except for the 77 NASB. The rest have been replaced with Comfort Print. The 77 will always be in print just as it is.

Hi Randy, love your KZread videos. I need your help. I am interested in a NASB Stusy Bible. I have one now and I love the notes, cross references, maps and charts. However the concordance is quite lacking and vague. @@BibleBuyingGuide Randy I have the Thompson chain in the KJV I like very much. My NASB has great notes, cross references, maps, articles, timeliness but it does not have a good concordance. I have to use my Strong's Concordance or use my Ryrie Study Bible in the KJV. ALSO like the verse by verse. Any recommendations there as well?

Do you have an ISBN or a way to find that black thinline reference KJV from Thomas Nelson at around the 6 minute mark? I'm searching for it, but can't find it.

Like the writing, text style and font size, minus the burgundy red letters, of the KJV Schuyler Cambridge and the cover, size and red letters of the CBP KJV Water Buffalo Milk Chocolate Full Yapp cover.
