    Never spray the hair with water only; it dries the hair. If you must, mix with conditioner. A moisturizing lotion that contains oil is a better choice.

    I don't. Afro-textured hair tends to look uneven sometimes even when it is not. Some strands shrink more than others and some strands are more defined from the style. Loose natural hair usually isn't neatly aligned.

    you're great, Chime. thanks for approving that. you know, you can gauge the amount of contempt a person has for themselves by the amount of contempt they express toward others. i have found that the more confident and comfortable with myself i've become, the less i feel a need to complain about and belittle others. be blessed!

    Yes, I've heard of Wen. I've hears some people rave about it and some people say it was just okay. I think Wen hair cleanser is the same concept of co-washing or using a regimen with limited shampoo will give you the same results.

    I detangle my hair every week to two weeks. Normally, it falls a the week and a half mark. There is no certain length of time. You just have to choose what works best for your hair. I wash and detangle my hair when it start to shrink and get tangled towards the roots and by this time my hair is starting to feel really dry so I know I need to wash it to get the moisture from water.

  • @ChimeEdwards
    @ChimeEdwards12 жыл бұрын

    Hey! To help with dryness, you may want to try the 40% vegetable glycerin, 60% water mix. It moisturizes the hair well. You may want to play around with the percentages to see the perfect mix for your hair. I really don't have "slip" either when I wash my hair but one tip that I have is to deep condition your hair before you wash it. The longer you leave the conditioner on the better. Your hair will be really soft and it will be a lot easier to comb through tangles.

    Using an oil can definitely help you get rid of dandruff. You can also use other light oils on your scalp like almond oil or jojoba oil. And yes you should limit how much you blow dry your hair whether you are relaxed or natural. Limit your use of heat as much as possible...it slowly damages the hair and in some cases, damages the hair after one use.

    Yes, box braids are a good protective style. Make sure you still wash your hair on a regular basis to ensure that your hair is getting moisture and lightly oil your scalp. Just don't leave the box braids in too long. As long as you remember to care for your hair while you have the braids and allow your hair to rest in between installations, you will good.

    When my hair needs a clarifying wash 1. from product buildup, 2. to prevent moisture overload, 3. or to give my hair a good protien 4. or deep conditioning when needed, I do shampoo the body and ends of my hair. I would not suggest against pooing the bodying and ends but I will suggest not doing it out of habit but only when needed. Also, the energy you gave in this video is great and your hair is loooovely! :)

    OMG You're really smart. I just learned that a lot of big name shampoos have sulfates in them. Basially the same stuff used in dish washing liquid and detergent to get rid of the dirt. No one should use sulfat-based shampoos or conditioners with silicones in them. Also, you said that you should focus on cleaning the scalp and letting the shampoo run down the hair. Another good tip that I found online. People, this girl kjnows what she's talking about!

    Thank you for your open mindedness by allowing toasty's comment, HairCrush. Your point is an accurate, articulate, and cogent one. If I may, the only thing I'll add is that it's not just AA women who can grow long hair; it's all black women (British, French, African, Caribbean, Hispanic, etc.). Sometimes the natural hair community forgets that not all black women are African American (from the U.S.). :) Love your perfect, healthy hair; HC; you are a gorgeous beauty and a fantastic role model.
