Screen adaptation of one of the early stories by Anton Chekhov "A Hunting Accident". Young Olenka was born and raised in a poor family, so she is forced to marry a rich but unloved man, who, moreover, is much older than her. But heart knows no law, and passionate love suddenly overtakes a girl of marriageable age - but the person who loves her cannot come to terms with the fact that she is given to another. Seized with passion and jealousy, the young man is ready for madness...

Die Atmosphäre, die Zigeunermusik des Film, - die ganze Produktion ist so großartig, dass ich mich frage, warum diese Filme nicht im Westen gezeigt werden. Ich habe mich vom „öffentlich rechtlichem Fernsehen“ verabschiedet. Danke Mosfilm😊

I think she liked the man in white, possibly fell in love with him, but she got hurt when he was with Tina at the party. And she decided to seek revenge and marry the old man

Olga didn't love anyone. She got married by design. Sergei Kamyshev fell in love her for real, but killed her when he realized that she did not love him for real.

@@user-li594-giftdn55 Which writer and which drama? This is not a drama, but a novel by Chekhov, which is mostly written on behalf of Sergei Kamyshev. Where in this novel does Kamyshev show that he is cold and cruel? You obviously haven't read Chekhov's novel. The book just shows that the main character Olga was cold.

What I got out of it, is that she stands for a certain woman - one that will never be happy with any man she’s with - she only likes the idea of being in love. When the man realizes that - he has no qualms about “letting her go”. And he sells his story for money. Which means he never loved her

Читая комментарии поняла, что иностранные зрители не поняли фильма вообще. Ну может немногие, наверное читали Чехова "Драма на охоте". Почему Камышев убил Ольгу, то что Ольга никого не любила а была расчётливой до неприличия, и убил её Камышев потому что понял её мотивы, что нет в её сердце любви к нему. А Карнеев пил при циррозе потому что наложить на себя руки не мог, тяжкий грех, а медленно но верно допится до смерти вроде как и не самоубийство. Возможно сложности перевода сказались

Да в книге она была более расчетливой, а тут она просто как ребенок который не знает чего хочет, но точно ясно - что хочет внимания, по крайней мере отчасти так кажется. Да и что тут такого - у нее была тяжелая жизнь она боится бедности. И вообще как можно убивать за это. Он, Камышев, куда чудовищней и рассчетливей ее

У Чехова и показана психология маньяка - ревнивца - хотя Ольга и пошлее и расчетливее и взрослее в повести! Лотяну снял кррасивую романтич историю о любви - которой у автора нет и близко - там все персонажи хищники и пошляки! Но я согласна что из за образа Беляевой - почти детски невинного - очень тяжелый подтекст у фильма - почти педофилия и детоубийство

@@gaylandbarney2231 This story was beautifully filmed. It illuminated the lustful behavior of men and a woman who was prepared to do anything to get out of poverty. No one could help themselves or curb their desires. As I said before, it was a cheerful story. Sarcasm intended here.

@@gaylandbarney2231 I completely understand how you feel about Russian literature. I just loved the singing in this film. They brought an era to life through the music, the clothing, and the lifestyles of the privileged class. No Hallmark ending for this them. No rainbows and unicorns.

The music and performances on and beyond the camera are amazing. But the idea is of no class. It is clear that the creator struggled to depict "the innocence capture the hearts" alike and since his/hers own blurry lines of innocence/opportunity makes it to become a blunder. It is not only here we see it generally it prevails around the world and is the main part of all human domains dominations.

Disjointed hard to follow Even though I’ve studied chekov The production no matter how well accomplished leaves one trying to follow the plot. I prefer Tarkovsky.

@@koshkin27koshkin92 Вы видимо только фильм смотрели , в романе всё рассказано, Камышев узнаёт насколько она цинична на самом деле и в ярости её убивает( там и другие причины есть , но весь роман я вам не расскажу здесь) более того в конце он прямо признаётся в этом

I’m half an hour in and all the wallowing in these decadent, depraved old farts is getting too much, I have to say. There’s the possibility of something very good in the film, particularly visually, but it’s all gone way overblown and pretty crass.

This movie was produced in USSR when different ethnicities were assigned different work. Emil Lotyanu was extremely talented and he also like young girls. Actress who was casted as Olga became his wife

So far, NOT good. Boring as hell, nothing happens, they took a 10 page short story and padded it into a two hour soap opera. NOT FOR ME.
