My ten year review of my Kawasaki Prairie 700

In March of 2013, I found a mint, 2005 Prairie 700. I bought it and ten years later, it's been around the world and then some. And it's still going........

Great review! I think it’s awesome that you’ve had it so long and put as many miles on it as you have. Not many have the know how required to keep it going. Very impressed! I’ve always thought the Kawasaki differential lock system seemed like a great idea. I also see great benefit it being able to activate it as needed on the fly. I find I almost never use it on my Suzuki because I’ve got to stop. Now we need an in depth review of your Brute Force with all the pros and cons. Thanks man!!

I had this exact machine, except mine was dark green. Ive owned many atvs and i will say w/o a doubt it was the best wheeler ive ever saw. I put it through absolute hell and it never let me down. The cdi really woke it up. Much better atv than its successor brute force due to lower center of gravity. I sold mine with 12,000 miles on it and it was still strong as ever.

BTW that was 12k and not 1200 miles with the factory belt. All factory except for the cdi box

That is unbelievable, thing looks so clean! Unfortunately mine was left outside by the previous owner so it has some rust underneath, i have no where to ride near me, but my camo 04 has 120hrs and 250 miles lol it’s my absolute favorite machine ever, the noises, the wheelies, all of it

Agree with pretty much all you said. I wish they'd update the Brutes, my 2014 has been great. I have over 1200 miles now no issues, still even on the stock battery it came with, pretty awesome.

I bought one brand new in 2005 and of all the things i have owned and sold or traded off i miss my team green edition 700 vtwin prairie the most i regret getting rid of it more than anything and the owners manual said 787lbs dry weight if i am not mistaken

Finally got to sit down and watch this! Love the review! I know why your brakes are still original. I've seen you ride...you never use brakes! 🤣😂 I do like the lower profile of your Prairie. My Outlander scares me a bit with its higher center of gravity, especially when riding off-camber or at speed. The Visco-Lok that CanAm isn't my favorite, but it's been ok for me so far...but you know how I ride...old and slow! LOL! My Outlander has the fuel tank pressure issue as well. I need to take care of the check valve this year as well. It doesn't affect how it runs...just squeals obnoxiously. Ugh. I was waiting to hear you address that good lookin' vented, see-through, right front fender though... 🤣

@@utahwanderlust700 Ha! Did you toss it over on its side?! I did a few donuts in front of my house earlier this year, but made sure it was good and slick with no pavement to catch and kill me! lol!

@@UtahOutlander Yes, it got tossed on it's side and the dumb rider went flying the other way about 10 feet.😄 I had new tires on it and they dug through the snow and found some traction! It wouldn't have hurt anything except for the fact that it was in the teens and 20's that day, and the plastic was very brittle. She's been on her side twice, upside down once, and on her butt once. Luckily, the only thing that happened to me was a bruised thigh, a sprained groin, and some road rash on the elbows.🙃

Did Highlifter stop selling the HD springs? I can only find EPI front springs. I’m buying one of these machines literally tomorrow and I’m a bigger guy. I want to put a 2” lift on it with the HD springs but am having a hard time finding them now.
