That looks like caulking silicone, the cheap kind. I'm so sorry you've been swindled by that tailmaker. It would have broken my heart, had this been my tail.

Despite the fact that the tail is broken, you could still use the silicone from it! If I was given this tail, I would cut the silicone to make scaled wrist braces and corsets. I’m so sorry that this happened to you Marielle. When something that you saved up for, and had high expectations for, breaks, it’s just awful. Remember, you can only learn from this situation, and keep going from there💙

That's really unfortunate when someone else's work tarnishes your reputation. I hope that it's all resolved and that you are able to continue with renting out your tails despite the mishap.

I am 15 years old and a full-time college student working towards specializing in Environmental Science. I saw your video and I am so sorry about what happened to your tail. But, I would like to have a chance to repair it. Being a mermaid is something I have always wanted to do. Between the ages of 13-15, I have struggled a lot with anxiety and depression and was at one point suicidal. Thankfully, I am doing much better now and am working with a counselor. But, because of these experiences, I know what it is like to suffer from mental trauma and don't want anybody else to have to go through that. To be a mermaid would mean being able to spread kindness, joy, magic, and compassion. It would mean providing a reminder that there is good in this world, even if it seems dark. To continue, I could help educate the general population on how we can care for our planet and ensure it stays as healthy as possible. To be able to do that for people would mean the world to me. If you haven't already given away the tail, I hope you will consider me. Thank you!

I feel like there’s a chunk to this story missing. I own a silicone from this maker and have friends that do too and no one else from what I can tell has experienced this. I’m sorry this happened to your tail, but I just don’t think it’s because of the maker.

You do it like this, the branding of fairy tails will be damaged. Moments will misunderstand that This brand has no quality

I have a tail from this maker. I feel like there's some information missing tbh. We still don't really know HOW it happened or why it ripped that way. I have lent my silicone tail out before (not this one) on set and have seen how rough people get with them. The tail from this maker is VERY fragile, even when I first slipped it on, it ripped (Small hole), the pectoral fin has started ripping away from the body BUT that is only because I hung it upside down and gravity was not its friend (it happens often with tails). So I am not sure how to feel about this video, so far its been good, but this sucks regardless. Not a fun situation!

But you’re saying it’s very fragile. Silicone tails shouldn’t BE very fragile. Something is wrong if they aren’t a solid workhorse. Sounds like they might need to upgrade materials, maybe add some power mesh. Cause designs are lovely.

@@salamane13 I happen to know a few mermaids that own this maker's tail and they have never had problems with it. All silicones are fragile.. I am not sure maybe you've had a heavy duty kind of silicone? I've always been told they are fragile and have always treated them that way too. I would never lend it out.

@@SiaShells dragonskin silicone is not fragile, it’s extremely durable. If it’s super thin the fins can rip or high pressure places like the waist and seams. My pink tail has been over rocks, in oceans, performed in 6 mermaid shows a day all summer for 2 seasons and she has never had an issue. This tail is clearly not dragonskin silicone. I do agree that we don’t know exactly what happened to cause this but unless you run over or take a knife to a dragonskin tail it wouldn’t do this unless it was very old

@@SiaShells I (nerdmaid faith) have had damage to my fins being hung the same way yours broke as well, however my fins were super thin, what happened with the fluke in this case... I just can't see happening with dragonskin

This is really sad...I really feel for you Marielle...one can only imagine the dissapointment and shock you can go through...I would LOOOVE to have such a beautiful work of art... But why not hold on to it for a while, you might come across an angel in disguise who is totally magic in knowing how to fix it just as or almost just as good as new... I feel you. The same happened to me a girl named Naja from Najestic entertainment and najesticent sold a silicone tail. Waited so long. Many paint jobs gone wrong. And when I got it. There where big cuts not fixable anymore. I asked her what went wrong and.... she told me she had to make the box smaller and cut it herself and had the nerve to send it to me. I never got my money back and she ghosts everyone. Its sad how people can treat you...

Naja got me too! My tail ripped wide open at the dorsal because she didn't attach it properly. And I didn't get refunded either!! She told paypal the tails are not meant to be submerged in water and they denied my refund. You know god #$%÷ well that's a lie! She's a scam artist!!

I would like it because I'm trying to make my very own tail for myself and I think having one in person as a reference on what (and what not) to do could be very useful on this learning journey. I also think I could possibly use the side fins as a either a template or recycle the into another project.

I would love to even be considered for this tail as a training experience for tail repairs. I want to learn as much as I can. I'd love to have the tail! I could try to fix it for photos especially for Pride themed photos that a photographer friend of mine has been wanting to do for awhile. If it's beyond repair, then I could use the tail as a study or make a molding of it to make my own silicone tail! I can't afford one and I'm trying to make my own tail out of neoprene and would love to study how this tail was made!

That's so sad anything like this happened. This tail looks so pretty, but damaged. I would never do that with any silicone tails (I do not have any silicone tail, only fabric). I hope you got fixed it somehow, or if not, then that's sad :(

I've been wanting a silicone tail for about three years now! I think it would be fun and a nice challenge to get this tail to try to fix it and also take some beautiful rainbow photos in!

You know what? You could mold your tail and re create it with dragonskin... I would like to have one tail, and I know that I could ask for this but I want to try to make my one so if you want my opinion mold it so you can create more tail with this design. Id love to have that tail cos i want to get into making, and repair would be a good way to get acquainted with it, but i dont have the money for silicone to fix it :(

That's really unfortunate. It's too bad such a beautiful tail and a beautiful design got ruined because of the quality of materials. If I had the opportunity to repair this tail, based on the video, it looks the two sides of the fluke are separating, so I'd probably put some kind of insert in, maybe vinyl, and glue it back. I've made one silicone tail and am in the early stages of designing and prototyping a second. I don't have a ton of experience with silicone but I do have some basic understanding of how it functions. I would need to do some kind of test on the actual tail to see how my silicone (dragon skin) bonds with it. I imagine I will have to etch your tail where it needs to be glued. I'm not sure yet how but I would also want to reinforce the side fins. Depending on how well the repair goes, I will probably only be able to use this as a land tail, maybe underwear photoshoots. I would love the tail so much, it's colours, it's shape, and it would be an amazing opportunity to repair and use it. This tail could be the chance I need to make my dreams of becoming a professional mermaid a reality. Thank you Marielle

Goshhh... im skeptic to that tail-maker even it’s only near my country .Some mermaids also had horrible experience to them . 🥺 I felt sorry for what happened.

The fact that they offer 2 options for types of silicone and don’t tell you exactly what it’s made of is very sketchy. It might not even be skin safe. I have repaired a lot of tails and I would recommend heavy duty repairs and a clear coat of proper silicone to prevent it from cracking more. It probably shouldn’t be a swim tail even with repairs

Yknow i think if i repaired this with silicon glue or just silicon between the cracks this would be a good beginner silicon for me. Im the leader of my pod at my pool, and we havent had a silicon tail yet.

I was actually gonna buy from this seller, but then they started ignoring me. I moved to a different Thailand seller, and they haven’t messaged me back in a month now, when I was about to order. Honestly I thought it was amazing because of the prices and looks from there. But I don’t think I wanna order from mermaid Thailand companies at all.

Oh...I am so sorry what have happened to such a beautiful tail. I am in United States and I would love to try to fix it. If you choose me... I will use fiberglass window screen in between flukes instead of powermesh since the tail material looks too weak. Then seal all over(whole tail) with color tinted dragonskin silicone. Please let me try. I want to give it a new life. It's just too beautiful to be left broken.

I am not a professional mermaid, but a professional belly dancer! I am so obsessed with anything mermaid! I would not swim in it, so it would be okay that it is split! I have really been wanting to get a tail for a long time now, but I haven’t been able to yet. Silicon tails are very expensive, so to be able to have one of those, although broken, would be amazing!! I would absolutely LOVE to own the tail and learn to swim with it. Frankly if you can’t get them to talk to you I would protest the charges with your bank. Item arrived defective and company won’t talk. Get your money back.

You cant blame the tail maker for this??? You shipped it to a few people, it wasnt in your possession when it was damaged, so how do you know whoever had it didn't damage it? You dont. It could of happened during shipping, they could of had it stored in a way that damaged it, theres different factors to consider. If multiple customers have had issues like then then it could be an issue with the maker. But to say it's their fault when you dont even know how it got damaged because YOU DIDNT HAVE IT IN YOUR POSESSION sounds like you are just trying to ruin someone's reputation without all the facts.

I'd love this tail I'd give it a brand new life I'd use it to educate kids and people about the health of our oceans. My dad knows how to repair alot of things so I totally would definitely love this beautiful colorful tail :) plz pick me! Even tail scars are beautiful
