The misused food term noodle and the big terms love and flames and guy cannot be misused by hum’ns in yt names or names or comments, and must be changed / edited out - it is beyond disrespectful to noodles / food when ppl misuse such terms in the yt name etc! And, the intro is beyond cringeeh and untrue, and I am the only Alpha / Queen etc and the only attractive being, and love is only meant for me and only exists for me the only lovable being, and the misused big terms alpha and men and attracted must be edited out, and wom’n cannot have men or man in it, and Norwegian & Swedish are one of the prettiest languages ever, while the ones on the list aren’t are pretty or cool language! Finnish is a great choice: when Russia invades Finland you can charge a lot of money from refugee agencies as a translators. Most of my generation (grandparents) were studying English at school an 45 - 90 minutes a week for 5 years, but they mostly know a few words of American from TV soap opera theme songs and cereal packets. As for my parents generation, I can confirm that they are unable to pronounce words that have double consonants in the same syllable, digraphs, and a third of the letters of the alphabet which are actually never used.

(When he studied they only had to know how to translate, my generation had a listening but not speaking tests) Not sure how well my kids generation learnt it, because mine could already speak English, but since there was an English club for kids for learning the language I don't think the school language education was as good as it is today. My eldest went to a Russian bath school (half Finnish half Russian) and my youngest to Russian bath nursery, but we moved back to England before he started to school.

I love how you roast how Euro-centric "polyglots" and a lot of online language-learning communities are. It's so strange how people can claim to be language lovers, then proceed to ignore the other 96% of languages in the world that didn't originate in Europe. And of course, if they do make any effort to learn them, they just do so to make videos like "genius WHITE man speaks ASIAN/AFRICAN/ETC language"

Edit: Just watched the rest of the video. Fortran I choose my languages based on perceived enjoyment, utility, and economic benefit to me. Granted, I basically just got English for free, so the others are (with fluency estimates, 100% = fluent): Spanish (at first for school, but it is an extremely useful second language in the US): 90% Japanese (driven by an interest in the all things far east): 50% Honestly, the rest I haven't fully committed myself to, but they are in no particular order:

Finnish is one of the most complicated languages. It has more than 5040 different ways to conjoin a single word. Y, ä and ö are crucial for foreigners (except for some) and has a nightmarish grammar. Long vowels/consonants shouldn’t be that difficult but foreigners still struggle with it. The accent is simple but the grammar and vocabulary take over the difficulty. The language used to take 1300 hours but due to the decrease of using loanwords, the language now takes more than 2500 hours to learn just the basics of Finnish grammar. That means it’s over double the amount to speak it fluently which is far harder than Mandarin.
