Most of us have something in our background that is damaging. It really helps to talk about it. I've been able to share things about my childhood with my church life group members that I'd never told anyone. It took a load off my shoulders and gave me peace. That's what I wish for you, Cricket. Booger is a family friend and she is the one who said I should start following you. I'm so glad she did.

Thank you so much, Linda! Yes, it really does help to be able to talk about it instead of holding it in. Thank you so much for your kind words.

I am so glad you got to have her back in your life again. People were different back then. My mom did a lot of strange things too. I don't think we were meant to understand them. Hugs.

Cricket. I'm in awe of how brave you are to share this. I agree, though, that it's important in that someone may be helped with your sharing and love. I assure you that there is no judgement of any kind coming from me. I know some of the pain you feel. So much so that I was ready to end it all many years ago. I'm lucky that I had a wakeup call and can say that, after many years, reached a good place. With a wonderful wife and two great kids. Like you, I would not have changed a thing because all of that "mess" brought me to today. Which I love with all my being! Keep caring and keep sharing your story.

No child should have to go through all of that. Your parents are supposed to protect you. I had a very hard childhood too, but at least I was with my sisters and brother. I couldn't imagine being separated from them as a child.

It was terrible to know you had a sister and could not be with her. It was torture. I think that's why I am so over protective with mine

I'm having trouble trying to figure out what the big deal is about the Tang, lol! I'd probably dump it out, too. Also, my Dad was a career MSGT. He could be a real big honery bugger with a real bad temper. One day when he was in a good mood I asked him. "What would you do if I became pregnant and wasn't married"? I was a teenager at the time. I'll never forget what he said. "I guess I'd say call me Granddad". I questioned him some-more and asked him if he would make me get married. His response was "why compound one mistake with another"? I used to think he was mean as all get out but as I"ve grown older I realize he was really a pretty smart man. My heart hurts for you and your Sis. I'm so glad that life between you became better!

Thank you so much for sharing that with me. My mom handled that so good. How I actually told her was, she was sitting in a chair. I walked behind the chair and put my arms around her and said, "Mom, does this look positive to you?" I was holding the test. She jumped up and said, "It sure does!" She was awesome. She said she knew and had a feeling that I was going to have problems. I lost my baby girl and my mom was right there beside me the whole time.

Our Grandson died when he was ten months old. Every year around October(his birth month) and through December(the month he died) she goes into a depression. He died over 11 years ago but during those three months she is so sad. I totally understand where you are coming from.
