I personally love Tomas from At The Gates and Mikael from Dark Tranquillity. Amazing vocalists. 🤟😊

Mikael Stanne is a great vocalist i agree, unique tone and live he sounds amazing, Tomas is great as well, however if i had to name my top 5 it will go like this: 1 Peter Tägtgren 2 Devin Townsend 3 Mikael Åkerfeldt 4 Dan Swanö 5 Alex Terrible

I think it's safe to say the low growls started in the U.S. Deathmetal scene. Yaay! I love you Peter Tägtren!

Kam Lee from Massacre was the first to growl i believe.

@@chaoszine i think so, few people give him credit for it but he has been involved in death metal since the very early days, massacre has an excellent album called from beyond, check it out, some of the members joined Death afterwards to record Leprosy. Kam lee was also in a band called Mantas with Chuck in the early days.

The vocalist he's talking about around the 5 minute mark, Masse Broberg would later join Dark Funeral as Emperor Magus Caligula and was their front man for about 10 years or so. I liked Masse's vocals on the Osculum album, even if they were kind of a Glen Benton rip off but, Peter has definitely been a way better vocal fit for the direction they ended up going.
