I love looking at people's gear, as a person who for lighting has a single desk lamp with paper over it and films edits and plans all on my iPhone 8.

Brotherhoodworkshop is, without a doubt, my biggest inspiration for animation. These behind the scenes videos really help with improving my animation! I can’t wait for more!!
This channel almost single handedly inspired me to start my KZread channel
Hey brotherhoodworkshop, I want to say That I watched The lotr when i was 8 and Then I found your channel. Ive been here since 2013 and you started my Joy for Animation and filmaking in general. THANK YOU!❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love Stop motions. Making and Watching. It is hard work, but i love it. So i made many short films and uploaded them to my channel.
People always ask about the equipment, but it’s all about the story and how you use the equipment you’ve got access to!

@@BrotherhoodWorkshop I respect your enlighted opinion on the matter. I actually checked both of them. I must admit Dylan Woodley is quite talented with lighting, and his pokemon battle are incredibly complex. Forrest whaley, well, i just doesn't really click with his style. And i still maintain, in my humblre opinion, in my heart, you're the best. And if i may add, the aggravation of Smaug is probably my favorite, and what i consider your masterpiece. Your love story also, is really inspiring and lovely, and i got a thing for it also.

Nicely done as always, keep up the good work!
Great job man very cool that you can do all that with relatively simple gear. Shows you that talent/creativity is more valuable than gear. Keep creating!

I know right. I had a 60D for a while, but 2 years and it broke. So I decided "if I'm gonna keep breaking these, I should probably buy cheaper ones." And considering most of them need to be compressed down to a 1920 mp4 for KZread anyway, the difference in quality is marginal

@@BrotherhoodWorkshop totally. I figured something >$300 would be a good place to start out with more expensive brickfilming, turns out, I can get everything I need and more with what I have. The real piece to the puzzle of skill is experience and practice, something you have down! One thing I wondered about is the cardboard beneath your tripod in one of the clips. How did that work out for you? I've been thinking of doing something similar, but it's difficult to get steady results on a carpet, even with a tripod. Thanks!
@BrotherhoodWorkshop
3 жыл бұрын
@@owenw.6627 I'm super cheap :) Which is both good and bad at times. As to the cardboard under the tripod, that was a clip from several years ago, and I was using the cardboard to slide the camera. I don't really use that method anymore. I used that clip cause it's one of the only pieces of footage I have showing my old tripod. It worked ok, but wasn't great. That's what the slider is for :) As to getting steady footage on a carpet, I have a few methods that help. 1. Is a piece of wood, which is much sturdier than cardboard. 2. is letting the camera sit for a bit before shooting so that it settles in. 3. is applying Warp Stabilizer in after effects to smooth out little jitters (this doesn't work for shots with lots of movement or if the background is too soft)
@owenw.6627
3 жыл бұрын
@@BrotherhoodWorkshop Ah! The wood is a great idea! I'll definitely have to look into that and see what I have around the house. A slider like the one you linked will definitely be another piece investing in. Thank you so much for the tips and ideas! That will definitely help! Good luck on the next film! I really look forward to seeing it! :)
I don't think there is a better lego animator than you
I loooove the bts vids and equipment and stuff
To quote a well known dwarf: yyesss! This video has very good tips!
Just found you as UT recomend it. Yes i realize now. Almost 8 month i starting KZread and doing stop motion. I have zero knowledge at yhe begining and i learn alot whole creating video. I use most affortable apps stop motion studio and my my mobole phone to create. However after 40 videos i upload and learn the tricks of stop motion i realize that it is a time for me to upgrade my gear and use dragon frame. Because current gear i have such as lighting equipment etc.. and apps that i ising now i feel it limited my dream to make it better cinematic stop motion. When i realize it i stop for a while uploading any video starting last week and focus on investment and more learning. I will come back again after i am ready. I dont care about YT algo. If positive then it is just bonus for me. I just like making stop motion and want my viewer have good experience while watching my creation. Thats all. Btw i like the way u explaining things in your video. I want to see me from you. Thanks✌
I will DEFINITELY get the slider and maybe the c stand especially if it will help support you! I really can't wait for your new stop motion you are amazing man!!

Fun fact: if you set your camera to auto, you can control the focus manually in dragonframe!
@lego_plus_1
Жыл бұрын
the trouble with auto is the aperture when it closes can change minutely every time you take a photo. Which can cause flicker when you play the animation. If you haven't experienced it lucky you i guess...
Are you going to make a part two? this video says part 1 but what about part 2? Just curious.😁
Since I stopped using the LEGO app for my videos, I just import the photos onto my computer and just speed up the images in Premiere.

You sound like a monologue from, "American Psycho" but this was very informative and thank you :) Thumbs up!
Cannot wait! Is it coming soon?
Thanks for the awesome video! What did you mean when you said the camera should let you adjust the exposure? Did you mean it should let you adjust exposure manually through the digital interface/buttons like most modern cameras do? Or through an analog aperture ring like the old lenses/cameras did?
@BrotherhoodWorkshop
3 жыл бұрын
A lot of inexpensive cameras don't have manual settings, which means it's impossible to set the aperture to a consistent size. That's all :) It doesn't really matter how you set it, whether digitally or analog (I do it digitally), it just matters that you can.
@COMMANDERFOX31
3 жыл бұрын
@@BrotherhoodWorkshop I see. Reason I asked is because some modern "manual" setting cameras do a horrible job at maintaining the right aperture/shutter speed and close their shutter at inconsistent times (common with Nikon kit units) then cause flickers. That's why I prefer older models and lenses with manual aperture rings. Thanks again!
@BrotherhoodWorkshop
3 жыл бұрын
@@COMMANDERFOX31 Yeah, my Nikon D40 did that a LOT. The T2I still has a little flicker when I have a wide depth of field, but this is easily fixed with a deflicker plugin. But the manual aperture rings are probably the best solution of all.
Me: my LEGO stop motion channel is amazing. I’m so good, I have got so many Sucsribers, I am so good at making stop motion because I have an iPad and LEGO. Brotherhood: Your good but I will always be the superior LEGO stop motion KZreadr
Hello BrotherhoodWorkshop I am currently studying animation and illustration and I would like to ask you a couple of questions. how did you go about designing the creatures in Rise of the Zerad? did you look at other real life creatures for inspiration and did you use any real life reference while animating?
