My speaker and subwoofer journey. Anthem, JTR, SVS, ML, Paradigm, Rythmik, JL Audio, Mcintosh.

Ойын-сауық

My journey testing tons of speakers and gear in the last 3-4 years. I will likely create a few more videos talking about the various differences in each. This isn't a technical description just a bit of a journey someone who loves audio went down. Brands that I have auditioned in my personal system since my journey began Klipsch, SVS, Primare, JL Audio, Rythmik, Martin Logan, JTR, Paradigm, Marantz, McIntosh, Gold Note, Blue Sound, LG, Samsung, Sony, Oppo and many more. I paid for all my own gear and sold each item after swapping it.

You covered a lot of ground in a short period of time, no filler, just good audio talk about your personal journey. Appreciate you, bro....and that's a BEAUTIFUL system!

I just bought the e15 2wks ago. I really, really like it, but I keep wondering if perhaps I should've bit the bullet at got the f18 instead. The question now becomes, do I get the f18 next year and have 1 f18 and one E 15 or get another E15? And have them match up probably a little better?????

@wking8 preciate it. I think I got my E15 as dialed in as it's gonna get with my room. I got limited placement option. Front right of my TV or left of couch directly opposite TV. I tried both spots, played with all the switches and phase until I was happy. I have a kef kube 12b as well. I am very happy with the way my set up sounds for movies in my space, I just know when I replace the kef kube 12 with another e15 it's gonna sound even better. That being said I just Feel like I'd be even happier with the FV18 when it comes to music. I plan on buying a new larger space in about 5yrs or so. I plan on replacing something every year until then so when I move, my system will be up to snuff for the new spot. I plan on replacing my reciever and add 2 shiit vidar. The keff will move to the bedroom and replaced with either the fv18 or another e15. You see my dilemma? New space, larger space, probably double the size. I don't wanna have regrets. I really like this e15 and kube 12b in this current space. The future space? 2 e15? 1 e15 and an fv18? Esthetically, the 18 and 15 won't match, 2 e15 might not be enough. And after buying another house I prolly won't be spending any more money on audio for a few years.

One thing I have learned is, content is the key. The content has to be interesting and engaging, all the editing and fancy angles can't save you if you content is not good. This video was interesting and insightful, that's all you need brother. You are killing it with the new camera, I love seeing your shots on FB. I don't blame you for taking a break from hardware upgrades, your system is at a level now that technically doesn't really warrant any upgrades. Vinny, thanks! This helps soooooo much! I still remember hearing the ML15As and can’t get over their clarity…nothing sounds like that…nothing. Your Differentiation over music versus home theater speakers is spot on, as is music bass/subwoofers (Rythmic/Rel) vs HT bass (SCS/JTR). I think that you chose the best speakers for the money…your Paradigms are simply unbeatable. Another contender for me are the Revel 328 Be and Wharfdale Elysian 4s…both have matching centers but your Paradigms are superior. My only request would be to tell us more about you amp and subwoofer journey (so Macs vs STRs) and why you chose Anthem/Rythmics over Rels and anything else. Also, give this a try…like seriously. Run your center channel full range but add a Rel S510 or 812 over high level and put it in the center right below your center. For movies…having a Rel sub with center changed everything for me (just try it for one week and return it if you don’t like it). But this may mess with your gorgeous symmetry and aesthetics!!!

First, thanks for the kind words, appreciate that. You have a great eye to see that I swapped the Macs for the STR's. I had my reasons. I will make videos about my amp journey and my subwoofer journey. I think it may save some people some time and money if they hear my pitfalls and reasoning. I actually had ordered Revel 328Be's with the matching center but the dealer ordered the wrong color and offered a discount to take them. I chose to avoid buying something that expensive that didn't check all the boxes for me. I auditioned the Persona's after the Revel's and it wasn't an easy choice. The low end and the style really sold me on the Persona's. That is a super creative idea regarding the center channel, as much research as I have done in this hobby I have never heard of anyone doing this. On paper it sounds like it would be amazing, I wish I had room to add a sub in the middle. This room is pretty maxed out. Thanks for the great comment and thanks for watching! Appreciate it.

Great video, you previously liked the ML for music but did you ever audition any of the Magnepan line as I'm using them for both 2 ch music and movies and love the natural sounding realism; fast dual subs are a must with mags as is proper setup. I love Paradigm for box speakers but once you go boxless with good setup it's hard to go back, at least for me; also the figure 8 sound pattern helps to reduce room interactions, they just disappear leaving a big wall of soundstage. @@MusclesAVS Like ML the mags need proper setup but are not quite as picky or head in vice as ML. Most dealers don't have them setup properly so best to learn first and then home audition, I started with the affordable LRS and then went up the line to the .7 and now the 1.7i on Mye Stands on Gaia feet. I'm also using their center and surrounds for HT but I'm mainly 2 ch music with no DSP after the dac; hi pass xovers and Dirac room correction are done in the digital domain via miniDSP Studio before the Denafrips Pontus II dac. ML sound great but always just a tad unrealistic/plasticky sounding to my ears, whereas the mags have a more realistic timber to me and at an even lower cost. Mags are not full range but I've had full range and always prefer taking the low bass out of them anyway at 60-80hz for improved mains and amp performance, plus I can then put the subs in optimal room positions which is hardly ever at the same location as the mains; in my 17x21' room (away from corners) one sub is up near the front rt spkr and one is way back at the left area of the room for way better room mode control, almost no room correction is even needed; super smooth deep flat non localizable bass to below 20hz. This is better not only for 2 ch but also for HT.
