I think he was looking down saw the car got over towards the side of the road and when he looked up he was really far left swerved right then swerved left and caused the car to spin

That looks like an over correction caused by taking his eyes off the road possibly looking at the radio or phone . Not convinced the car broke traction at all , looked more like a swerve

I happen to be sitting my friends stock standard BMW 135i 2 weeks out of the showroom as a passenger on a track drag racing an another friend in his A45 AMG when we hit 120mph I kid you not the car for some reason spun out for no reason

Yeah scandi flick then ripped handbrake , way too much smoke to appear instantly like that deffo locked the tyres up with handbrake , giving it more rotation than if he would have just swerved because a swerve would likely cause understeer .. You can see the car nearly did a 180 lol it’s facing wrong way

I think anyone with years of driving experience can tell this is clearly driver error caused by some sort of distraction. Crashes happen, but lying to your dad because you were distracted by a mobile phone, infotainment screen, etc is really unacceptable. Shame really.

Had the exact same phone call from my daughter when she had an accident. Her dashcam proved invaluable. Glad your son is ok.

The dip in the road is on the left so he probably thought his car was drifting to the left so he swerved to the right and lost control. Instead, he should've gripped the wheel tightly and kept it straight.

Glad to see that your son didn’t get hurt. Get him to go on a Porsche driving day course - teaching people how to react if their car starts to get into a spin in the wet etc. Invaluable for the awareness it adds to your mindset.

The problem is that he was taught to turn into the slide and brake. that is correct if we are talking about rwd cars. in this case he was in his fwd fiesta. in a front wheel drive car, to correct a slide you want to turn into the slide same as for rwd but you want to accelerate to straighten the car out rather than brake.

As a certified accident investigator, I chaulk it up to him being a Young, new driver, inexpericed or wasn't expecting the vehicle to do what it did. bottom line, car can be replaced, he cannot. thank god he is ok.

I had an accident few years ago when the lady in front suddenly hit the brakes hard on a green light. Obviously I could not prove to the Police but a Dash Cam would ensure me that in such situations justice will be served. I am happy that your son is ok. This is definitely distracted while driving, no clear bumps in the road and the swerve right before going left shows the distraction and coming back and overcorrecting being scared about going into the opposite lane , being bone dry aswell and that I know that fiestas handle absolutely great in the wet from my experience even, then again you live and you learn

I got into an accident late February with a lady driving an M2 she was in the wrong skipped the stop too but as we talked and exchanged information her husband came and they went to the nearest police station and she gave them a false scenario further leaving me in debt Videos like this really make me wish I had a dash cam I could've avoided a lot😩

I have the same mk8 fiesta st line as my first car for almost a year and a half at this point and I’ve never crashed it or been in an accident like this. To me this is definitely screaming phone/infotainment use… and this is coming from a lad that drives like a complete and utter nutter that pushes the car 😂😂. That 100% looks like a sudden swerve from the driver, nothing to do with the road conditions or surface causing the tires to lose traction.

Respect to Andreas for driving safely. He's been taught well. That's the main reason it wasn't more serious. The Dashcam should go to one of the guys that helped out at the scene!

I can‘t see how this would really happen unless he took his eyes off the road (maybe pressing radio buttons, car controls, phone most likely tbh)… Then he over corrects as he looks up suddenly and sees he is off his side of the road. No wonder insurance premiums for us young drivers are so high. People just need to be careful and use common sense. I don‘t think this was ‚unlucky‘, in fact very lucky he and the car was ok. Anyway, this is not a criticism, lesson learned and he will be more careful in future

Would absolutely love this dash cam have just bought a new car with 22inch alloys and could use this to prove to my wife that alloys do not curb themselves 🤣🤣

I’m a new driver and would love one of those dash cams. Would definitely add confidence when driving if anything goes wrong.

I travel every week from Cov to Enfield and back with my 2 little girls I would love to have the cam as God forbid anything was to happen I’ve always got proof. I’ve been meaning for months to get one and feel like this is a sign.thanks for the opportunity x

Learning to drift a rwd car is much different than a fwd car.

Hi Yianni, we had a baby in October and he's been quite unwell. We live in walsall but travel to Birmingham children's and Birmingham City hospital almost every week for hospital appointments. It's been such a journey since he was born. 😢 I wish I had a dash cam as drivers in Birmingham are so reckless. We've already had a young driver smashing into us getting on to the motorway. Lucky I recorded him admitting to the error. Later they tried to change their story but having a dashcam would save so much hassle!

Maybe I'm just cynical, but this seems like a staged "accident" to make a dramatic clickbait video to show off a dash cam. Very convenient that the brand you're using is also the sponsor of the video...

My heart would sink if I ever got that call I rolled a shogun when I was 19 years old and managed to walk away from it basically unharmed, but my first motorcycle accident was the scariest one for me sliding down the tarmac at 40mph ain’t the best experience but I use my experiences to teach my kids so glad your boy is alright 👍🏼

Sunlight with perspective view, with shadows, causes one to think there is a hazard. He turned too much and tried to correct it = drift mode activated and ended. You learn from your mistakes and you will become a better, safe driver. Who hasn't made mistakes... no one ? oh sorry, all those commenting are perfect drivers lol @Yiannimize you should be happy he is safe. Well done guys and drive safe

skill issue

I was in a very very nasty life changing accident a few years ago that was not my fault and went through hell with the insurance company. I’m a hard working single father and being able to know that a dash cam is there to keep my car and my child safe out there is re assuring. I have been through a lot to have my daughter and this will be an amazing help to keep her safe when in the car!

My theory: he was on his phone, he saw the car pass by in his peripheral vision, looked at the road and saw he’s too close to the grass, put too much steering input to the right side, over corrected and spun off

As someone who was recently rear ended, nearly writing the car off with my wife and young daughter on board, a dash cam would've been ideal to prove our innocence despite the driver arguing it wasn't there fault even though they were liable and other witnesses Glad he's OK though, not a nice position to be in at all for either of you. Hopefully just got himself back out on the road
