I loved when someone asked why he made a “dirty” version and he said “I made an EXPLICIT version. Why is that dirty? Explain. What’s dirty about it?” Love him.

The funny thing is when he tried to sing this song afterwards, Army would sing along with him and use the explicit version. Once you open that door, there is no going back.

JK shocked us all, for real! 😂 To me, the most explicit line in the song is Latto's "Come on baby let me swallow your pride." When I heard that one I started laughing & said, "Ooo... clever. CLEVER!" And Jungkook's raised from the dead like a woke vampire, singing in the coffin, followed by the girl's eyeroll, makes me laugh every time. 😂

IMO, the explicit version makes more sense with latto's lyrics. JK is on his IDGAF what you gotta say. I'm a grown man!

The other difference is in the clean one he sings “that’s the way we could ride”, in the explicit it is “you could ride”.

Love watching two grown men giggling over the lyrics. lol.

Ernesto and son JK was very purposeful when he decided to sing an explicit version. Kook was frustrated that some Army would infantilize him. It’s because a lot have witnessed them growing up so they still see “Kookie” and baby him. He talked about how his friends who were maknaes (youngest) in their respective K-pop groups were not babied the way he is. During lives (chats) if he was drinking, people would lecture him about drinking, he would have to check them in a nice respectful way. ie I am adult I make my own decisions. I am 26. I knew that he was going to sing something shocking. My mom use to say, I can show you better than I can tell you. His frustration was mounting. I heard the explicit version before I saw the regular version. I immediately loved it because he had said, I am an adult, I can cook for myself, mentioned his age, said there are things about him we don’t know. Sex was the final I am grown topic with shock value. If Army like myself would comment on Jimin’s gluteus Maximas aka the Ji-booty, some Army would tell us stop sexualizing the boys. Jimin would tease us because he knew we referred to his perfect dancer’s arse as the Ji-booty. He has turned around on stage with his back to us and shook it in our faces. Joonie got thicc, we had to comment. Kook got thicc we had to comment. They are not getting that fine to be ignored. Lol So, talk about Armies being Jungshook at the notion that he is duckin or at least singing about it without shame.

I honestly feel that the explicit version fits the song so much better. Welcome back to the son. If you want to dive into something truly epic, check out 2019 MMMA show. It’s an award show, and honestly will blow out any Grammy performance that I have ever seen. It’s a bit long, about 37 minutes or so, but it gives you a taste of how much they put into their performances. It’s worth the view trust me. I think you would also like Baepsae, it’s a great song with a deep social commentary that, if you don’t watch the explanation video, you miss what the lyrics mean and just find it a fun song. Yes indeed, he said he's at a point in his life , that he feels he should be able to write songs for himself & say whatever it is , that he wants to say. That he's written & sung enough songs for the fans & its his time now. Nobody is forcing anyone to listen to , or forcing anyone to buy his album. He said it's NOT cursing , because he chose that word SPECIFICALLY, after a lot of thought & consideration. It wasn't random, or meant to be offensive. The dual meaning, he added in a side note, is to his haters that it's kind if a "look at me now" moment, cuz I'm f***ing you 7 days a week, every hour, every minute, his fame & popularity grows & the haters, they keep going down every minute & Nobody will remember them anyways, but they'll definitejy remember this song. He is the epitome of honesty, straight forwardness & sincerity & this man, certainly knows how to be his most absolute & authentic self & is totally comfortable with who he's become as an individual, thru the other members BTS , teaching & allowing him to freely do so. That was pretty much, not exactly verbatim, but an overview, of what he had to say, about all of that.

From a linguistic standpoint point, the explicit version changed the whole meaning of the song. The storyline is about the desire to have a relationship built on mutual respect and satisfaction, hence the " Hold you in the afterglow." The lyrics in the accepted version all have a positive connotation, which causes the song itself to be positive. Once you change, loving for f**king, the storyline becomes negative because the origin of the "F" word is rooted in negativity, giving it a negative connotation. For those who are unaware, that word is an acronym for "Fornication Under Consent of the King." It is a word that's been in use since the mid 1500's. It comes from the time when royalty and wealthy land owners could have sex with anyone they wanted to without fear of punishment. Victims and their families had no recourse against these powerful men. Since the word began from a negative situation, the word retains that negative connotation. Going back to the song, throwing that negative word in with all the positive lines before it, changes the meaning to not wanting a relationship, but only wanting a one night stand. Just the same way it does in math, it doesn't matter how many positive things you have, once you multiply a negative, all the signs become opposite. I hope this linguistic explanation helps clarify why the explicit version is not widely accepted.

The irony of Armys who think the clean version is sweet and the explicit version is dirty just cracks me up. Both versions are clearly about sex. And JK rejected the term dirty. The explicit version is simply more accurate. You can “love” someone seven days a week by taking out the trash, making them breakfast and changing poopy diapers. That’s not what this song is about. Armys just upset with JK trying to shed his bunny persona. The balance between the music and you talking was not great. I had difficulties to hear what you said and/or hear the song. I would have liked you going back to the performance vid once Latto's verse was over. Because this performance vid was not just about him saying the F- word . I was about the dancing,too! 🫤
