Congratulations Colleen!! I am a year younger than you and I also started collecting these dolls. Like you I always wanted one as a child, I started my collection last year. I now have the original 5 dolls, when I was little I always wanted Heather as I was a copycat. My best friend had Heather and I always had to have whatever she had, she also got me into AG dolls as well. Shelly and Colleen you are my favorite KZreadrs, I want to thank you so much!!! You guys have taught me so much about not being afraid or ashamed of being true to myself as a person and doll collector, and through that I have been so much happier. Thank you both for all that you do!!!!!!

Aw, thank you so much! I hope you can find a Magic Attic Club doll sometime while thrifting. We definitely don't always see dolls when secondhand shopping--it just seems that way because we go a lot ha ha!

Well done Colleen! I got sucked in to the Magic Attic dolls by my friend Kathy who is of the "Against Doll Odds!" KZread channel. She is also an avid collector. Since I'm 59, I wasn't aware of them until recently after getting into the AG/PC doll collecting. I agree with the idea that Megan is the best. I love red heads. Congratulations on acquiring her. Have fun collecting the outfits and keep your eyes open for the other members of her family.

She's lovely! It is always so fun to see someone get a doll they love. Congrats on that! I know they have a different body size than American Girl, so I am glad you got her some more clothes. I have a doll with a similar body, a Friend to Friend Just Pretend doll (made by a company here in New England). So I knew exactly which website you were talking about - it's a great resource.

Love Magic Attic dolls! I bought all of them for my daughter in the 90's!! She even has the porcelain Heather doll. Love Robert Tonner sculpts. I have lots of his dolls Although this version may not be his sculpt❤

I never really knew what Magic Attic Club was, (due to the fact that A. I wasn't alive in the 90s and they weren't popular on KZread, B. the books weren't sold in bookstores when I was growing up unlike AG, and C. the only 18 inches sold where I live are Our Generations) until I saw Megan's photo on your Flickr and read Colleen's story. About a week after seeing your Flickr post, I was at a secondhand bookstore that sold imports from North America (I'm from the other side of the world), and I found a Pleasant Company Meet Felicity book signed by Valerie Tripp! (she also dated it June 10, 1999, and the back shows the first six historicals) A few rows next to it I found Secret of the Attic. I thought "this is the book of Colleen's new Megan doll." Both books still had the catalogue request postcards and the ads for the dolls in the back which was also really cool, so I bought both of them. I'm very happy for Colleen, I know that feeling of finally getting something you wanted for years and years (I really wanted Barbie, Bratz and Monster/Ever After High as a kid but wasn't allowed to have any. I decided to start buying some a few years ago when I was 17. By that time my parents didn't mind what toys I collected, and it's been so much fun.)

It's so awesome that you just so happened to find one of the books shortly after reading Colleen's Flickr post! It's also amazing you found a book signed by Valerie Tripp (Colleen named one of our Girl of Today dolls after her because she thought she was such an awesome author). I'm glad that you've had fun collecting whatever you want over the past few years, and that your parents have been supportive :)

Magic Attic Club! I remember wanting Heather SO badly when that catalog came out, because I loved her outfits and she was Jewish like me. Sadly, my mom felt one expensive doll collection from a catalog was enough so I never got her.

Congrats! I love Magic Attic. I only have the earlier wigged editions. By chance is the rooted version Saran? I had always wondered that because it seems as though the rooted ones are rarer since they were at the end of their run when they redesigned her.

Thanks! Nope, her hair is rooted with a really terrible quality nylon fiber. I had to flat iron her and trim the hair, and it still doesn't feel great.

That is so nice that you got to film. Colleen was probably excited. Seen her for the first time. Where did you find her off of makari?

I got this Charlie’s angels doll that has a massive black stain on its chest and belly, I think on its back too. I’m talking everywhere in its upper body. Any tips on removing those massive black stains. From what I seen it apparently from the clothes, she wears a black tee shirt so maybe it’s why, any tips on removal?

I have a video on how to remove stains: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h2yf27Wvhd3No84.html I've used that technique to get rid of black dye stains before on my own dolls. You have to be patient, but it definitely works :)

I am catching up with your videos. I have an Alison doll. We are Jewish. The only problem is that i was never committed to getting any outfits for her so she is in her meet outfit. I still have her and i do think she is super pretty but as you both know, they don't fit the same size clothing as the AG girls. So she is not quite "part of the fun". I will probably sell her. Just never good at getting around to getting rid of dolls, i only like biying them. 😂 Meghan is gorgeous but they are all really cute. Robert Tonner makes very pretty faces. Hope you are both well.

It's really a shame that they don't fit American Girl sized clothes. Colleen has already bought Megan (and her other Magic Attic Club doll she got since) a few outfits. They are kind of hard to find online, compared to American Girl clothes anyways. Best of luck selling your Alison.
