Thanks for sharing the tour of your sewing room. I have just gotten my sewing, knitting and croheting room organized and cleaned up. It took me a week to put things in their places and got rid of a lot of junk. Now I am ready to get busy. It charges your battery so to speak to get busy. Thank you again for sharing. I enjoyed it.

Great job you've done there Michelle 🤩 I've bookmarked & saved your video, there's a few ideas I'd like to use! Loved your elephant boxes! Sadly they're out of stock, fingers crossed I can find them another time, hubby loves elephants 🐘🐘 Look forward to your organising videos, I have an incomplete record of my patterns using Trello. Would love more helpful tips on that front. My fabrics are stored in lock&lock type plastic boxes at present and I no longer know what I have! I like collections too.. Collecting fabric is a whole other hobby 😎😉😂 xx

I had to chuckle at the end of the video watching Bentley and seeing your clutter mess. I think that happens to most of us from time to time. It site looks peaceful and organized now! I think you have a delightfully healthy fabric collection! Mine is probably three times as much. I do have a bigger sewing room, but it is filled wall to wall and floor to almost the ceiling just like yours. 😄😇😆 Thank you so much for sharing! I loved the tour!

You are very organized! I have a much bigger sewing room and I try to say organized, but when I get busy it gets messy! I have the same sewing table I bought at charity store but mine is adjustable. I also have a two 3 tiered carts, one for works in progress and the other holds all my serging threads. Thanks for sharing.
@SewingBunny

Ohh that’s amazing that your table is adjustable 👍 so nice having a higher table isn’t it x
Thankyou so much for sharing your neatly organized little sewingroom! I completely understand the feeling when it’s a bombshell around you, I loose my creativity completely and the wonderful feeling of relief when it’s all clean and tidy again! You’ve really made the most of that tiny little space you have! I’m curious about where you iron as that’s such a big part of a sewing project? And if you have a full length mirror somewhere near? It would be interesting to know what camera and softwear you use for your filming, vlogging and still shots, I would really appreciate a video about that! I’m lucky to have a quite large room to sew in and I love organisation, but it gets really messy anyway when I’m in the middle of a project or have an upcoming exhibition soon (I’m a textile artist as well as sewing for myself and my family). Take care Michelle! I’m full of admiration for your work with your KZread channel! 💖

Very nice! I have sewn in all sorts of spaces, from quite large to very tiny. In my experience, it isn’t the size of the space that determines how well it works. One house I rented years ago was so small that I actually had to create a tiny sewing “room” within the living room, by arranging a large media shelf in a way that left a large area behind it. It was tight quarters, but it forced me to be organized, and I did a lot of good work there.
@SewingBunny

Yes that is true! I think if I had a larger room it would actually be harder to maintain x

@@SewingBunny Yes, and there’s always the problem that we tend to “grow into” a space, filling it up with things until it gets even more difficult to keep it all organized. 😉

I always say, sewing is one hobby, collecting and loving fabric is another! I have a lot of fabrics and patterns too! I'd love to see how you catalogue yours. I've been looking at all the Apps available, at least what's available in the US. I've never come across Trello (sp?). So far, I'm not happy with any apps I've found. Thanks!

It looks lovely Michelle. Had to laugh at the room before the reorganisation. 😂 it reminded me of my previous sewing space. I was shoe horned into a corner of my husbands study, he wasn’t particularly happy about but put up with it. The space was smaller than your room lol. It was a tip. Our son finally moved two weeks ago so my sewing room is now his old bedroom. I have so much space ❤❤❤. I’ll see if I can put a couple of photos on Andreas Facebook page or maybe instagram. I’d be very interested to see how you use trello for your pattern storage 👍. Xx

I appreciate the before shots. That's what my space looked like before I packed up every thing in preparation of moving house. Can you do an update later in the year saying if you've maintained the system you've put in place or if you had to change things around? I always fall back into chaos after organising. I don't know if it's because I'm lazy or if it's because I haven't found a system that works well. 😁
@SewingBunny

Yes that’s a good idea! I agree sometimes things do need tweaking but I think the main thing is I have to be strict with myself to tidy up after a project and not rush into the next… easier said than done though 🤣
Oh my God! I can totally relate to your before video Michelle! Such a “mind” clutter you get! Tell me about it 😅But your end result is outstanding! I can only begin to imagine all the work you put into it! Congratulations for not giving up! I would have loved to see your organizing process. Did you organized by sections, or did you took everything out and started from scratch? Thanks a lot for sharing it is very inspiring! I just need to jump on it, I guess 😅
@SewingBunny
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! It’s such a lovely space to be in now 😁 yeah I more or less took everything out that I could, sectioned things into boxes to sort or in piles on the floor and it was so crazy but I just did it a little at a time. Not ever sitting in there for more than an hour otherwise I would just get overwhelmed and finally I got there 👍
its always fascinating to see how other sewists store fabric and patterns. i use mostly indie patterns bought as pdfs so i have a standing wrapping paper storage box for my A0 prints of the pattern then i have a narrow shoe storage unit (ikea brusali) that fits the legal envelopes i use for the tracings of my size. i am definaly interested in how you use the app to organize your patterns, if its not an indie pattern in my wrapping papper bin i have to do a lot of hunting to see if own it or not

Yes that organiser I got years ago and it great and really sturdy but I can’t seem to see it available anywhere now. There are lots of similar types on Amazon and eBay if you search for ‘door hanging organiser’ x
I wouldl like you to show us how to use that app on storing your patterns etc. Your room is a hair smaller than mine. My room is 8.5 by 8.75. I am constantly trying to figure out the best storage. I have a closet that is not part of the measurements I gave you. So I do have more room than you do. You organized this very well.

Hi Michelle, what a fantastic tidy-up!! How long did it take you? I was so interested in every little part of it and how you manage to make the most of your available space. I think I need to do the same now, even though my sewing space is smaller than yours, your vlog showed me that I could definitely make better use of what I have. Maybe you missed your vocation, as I think Marie Condo’s ideas pale into insignificance compared to yours! I would be incredibly interested in seeing how you use Trello for your patterns and fabrics, so yes please film this vlog when you get a chance. Many thanks. Katrina x

Aww thank you so much! 🥰 I found that doing it in small steps felt much less overwhelming. However to start off with i stopped myself using the room and emptied everything out in each section and worked through it for about an hour at a time every other day.
