I too learned to sew young, 1st zipper at 7 yrs old. My grandma was a seamstress and mom sewed all my clothes (only girl 3 brothers 😂). So I learned details first. The ones I’d share with you are; 1. Wash, dry and iron fabric first 2. Basting is your friend always! Sleeves, collars and waistbands and hip crotch fit. Make your mods, pin, and then sew right over. Always press your seams open and clip curves so they lay nice. Please keep posting your projects. I just love your style! I’ve learned so many knitting tips from you! I’ve been knitting things way to big due to fear of it being too small 🤦🏻‍♀️ but now I measure and try on as I go, thanks to you ❤

The fold line is a great data base for sewing patterns. It is not exhaustive but they have a lot listed. My favorite pattern companies are Friday pattern company and chalk and notch.

I mainly sew and am dipping into knitting, so it's lovely to see you do the opposite. I think your bedsheet self drafted dresses are amazing 'beginner' dresses! I actually quite like the stripey one - I think I'm too deep into the cottage core now 😂

Really enjoyed this video!! I am a knitter and have been contemplating in getting started with sewing, and it's really cool to see what it would entail and how different the process is vs. knitting. Your persephone pants look amazing on you, sounds like a big project but it turned out amazing!! Thank you for sharing!

This was so much fun! I loved seeing all of your sewing projects 😍 I totally sympathize with the struggles you’ve had because I too have had those exact same struggles. I have a white linen bed sheet and have been wanting to try out Hubba Ding for a while so you’ve inspired me to make a dress from that!

The white dress you could add a key hole detail add a bow closer or three little buttons to help it lay flat at the collar. As well as another unique detail .

I enjoy seeing your sewing, especially when paired with knitting. I think I spied a Badgers & Bloom sweater with pants. 🙌🏻 I can sew a bit myself but hadn’t found too many patterns to suit this old lady. I will keep looking and viewing podcasts like yours for inspiration.

This has been fun to see your sewing journey. You appear to be as gutsy at sewing as you are in knitting! Very inspiring. A couple recommendations on KZread are Lisa from And Sew On who both sews and knits and for sewing pattern ideas I enjoy Kate from The Fold Line.

This has inspired me so hard core to pull back out my Demeter dress that I started sewing last year. Just need to figure out how to sew without giving myself a stress headache lol

I love sewing and really liked seeing your journey with it. Roseryapparel does amazing sewing content on youtube, she does tutorials and also makes and sells her own patterns. I discovered her during the pandemic and have been inspired by her a lot. And yeah, you should always wash your fabric before you start;) it is like swatching: if you want your piece to fit, you need to do the extra step. It is worth it in the end😊 Thanks for the lovely content, I really enjoy your videos!

This is such an encouraging video! I’m wanting to sew clothes, but every project I’ve sewed comes out unwearable and it’s so discouraging! But I’m going to try making a skirt this Spring for my anniversary! THanks for the inspo 😊

I have! I've mostly used McCall's and they're fine, I just find it easier to get indie patterns online from home.
