Oi Virginia! A minha rotina è muito parecida. A primeira coisa que eu faço depois de eu acordar é tomar água com limão, depois disso tomo o pequeno-almoço e vejo videos em italiano, espanhol, francês, inglês ou português. :) Depois de terminar de trabalhar janto com o meu marido, vemos um filme ou um documentàrio en espahnol (ele também o estuda), fazemos um passeio juntos e depois lemos algum livro. Também querìa dizer que gosto muito dos teus videos!!!

Infelizmente até agora eu não tenho tido uma rotina matinal e me parece que isso está tornando a minha vida cada vez mais pior porque a disordem andou piorando a qualidade da minha vida. Às vezes estou afim de fazer algum negócio que pode ser produtivo mas mais à frente sinto-me desanimado. Pode-se dizer que o seu vídeo me inspirou a fazer qualquer coisa que faça com que eu agradeça à minha existência 😊 Obrigadíssimo pela sua energia.

I speak only English, Portuguese, French and Russian, right now i'm studying German. In the morning i usually listen to podcasts just to get familiar with the sounds of the language and catch some words. At night i take a podcast or a video which contains transcription, study and translate the transcription, put the unfamiliar words on Anki, along with their meaning and a sentence as example, then i start listening to the audio while reading the text. After some time, i take off the text and repeat only the audio. It's simple but effective, that's basically the way i learned the other languages.

Olá Virginia! I am Italian and have started learning Portuguese through the resources in your channel and website. They are absolutely top notch. In 3:42 you said you may consider learning Italian one day. Italian pronunciation is a bit different from that of Portuguese, but apart from a more forcefully rotic "r" the rules are super-simple. I admit that the conjugation of verbs can be tricky, though. The Italian you hear by listening to Radio Rai is equivalent to BBC English but most people speak it with more musicality, a bit like the Brazilians speak Portuguese. I would be glad to make myself available to you if you wanted to have some conversation practice - I am so grateful for what you make available and I feel I can contribute something in return too. Thank you very much for sharing your routine! I do pretty much the same in terms of morning routine, I wake up even earlier around 6 or 7 am and study languages (I study Portuguese, Swedish and Dutch). I thought also that it is not possible to study more than 1-2 languages at the same time but it is perfectly feasible depending how your organize things and the walk to the park or other activities while you can listen to the target language can give you the time you need to get fluent in no time. I strongly encourage you to make a video on studying more than 1 langauge at the time.

Hi, thank you for these conversational type of videos with both captions and subtitles. It's ideal for my goals. Spanish and portuguese are so intelligible, it feels like speaking in synonyms. My goal isn't to be fluent in speaking Portuguese. But to understand it conversationally and read it. I follow a few brasilian celebrities (Simone & Simaria) and have been blown by the Similarities brasil has in celebrating their african roots/ influence. As it is done in the Caribbean, yet not as prevalent in other Latin cultures. (for demographics reasons probably) I learned french, and since have expanded to other romance languages. But have different "goals" and approaches for each one. I'm bilingual in Spanish and English; french, I'd like to be conversationally fluent in french; brasilian portuguese, I'd like to understand and consume media without language being a barrier; italian, i'd like to read and learn the list of most 600 used words. French I'd need a Conversationally Active approach, for Portuguese a Pasive Approach, natural language acquisition/ associating meaning (with spanish); while italian is an Academic Approach, dictionary work, and memorizing. I'm interested in norwegian and german. I Wish I could find videos like yours in those languages. Thank you for your work. 🤗. As I said, it aligns perfectly with my goals. Spanish is Too similar and an academic approach would be too confusing (for me) while natural exposure and letting my brain make the connections through context and intonation feels ideal. Thank you! I would also like to obtain a certian proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, french and Italian. At this moment I'm only studying Portuguese and Spanish. Still got some problems with small talk. I however do manage to understand most of the political content and oficial documents, that I read to practise. From now on I'll spend more time focusing on listening comprehension to accelerate the learning process. Since I started to learn Spanish I've become fluent in English to the point that I can understand the spoken language completely.

During my morning routine I get up early but the time is not set because I travel all the time. I get a drink of water make some tea and sit and read my Bible and study. I am using Português translation when possible. Afterwards I go to the gym to swim, bike and weight train. When I’m at the gym I listen to my português lessons. Usually I listen to português while I commute. I use almost every spare moment doing something with learning. It is a new goal of mine to improve my time by learning new languages and other interesting hobbies like kayaking and birding ect. In the evening I seem to be flopping into bed exhausted. I try to read a bit or review lessons. Usually I drop off to sleep and sleep soundly till morning without getting much reading done. I should start earlier getting ready for bed. I appreciate very much your lessons and thoughtful ideas. Keep up the great work.

Hola Virginia! Muchas gracias por tus videos, están muy buenos y me sirven mucho. Yo todavía no sé hablar portugués pero sí te entiendo casi todo lo que dices. Mi rutina básicamente consiste en hacer oración y estudiar teología. Me levanto a las 5:30 de la mañana, me aseo y después voy a Misa. Desayuno a las 7:00 y después voy a la escuela (en este recorrido aprovecho para estudiar griego antiguo). A las 8:10 entro a clases y termino a las 12:50. A la 1:30 ya estoy en casa y hago los aseos de la casa. A las 2:00 cómo y las 3:00 juego futbol con mis compañeros. De 5:00 - 6:50 es tiempo de estudio para hacer mis tareas. A las 7:00 entro a la capilla para hacer oración y rezar El Rosario. A las 8:00 ceno y de 8:45 a 9:25 es tiempo libre en el que ya sea toco mi guitarra o veo uno de tus videos o estudio alguna lengua cómo griego antiguo o latín. A las 9:30 regreso a la capilla a hacer mis últimas oraciones. A las 10:30 me acuesto para dormir. La mayoría de estas actividades las hago en comunidad con mis compañeros puesto que vivo en un seminario en el que me preparo para ser sacerdote. Me gusta ver tus videos porque así aprendo más portugués ya que me preparo para ir a Portugal a la siguiente Jornada Mundial de la Juventud.

Sempre gosto muito de olhar seus vídeos além que gosto muito da seu jeito de falar é como diferente é muito simples para pessoas que falamos espanhol, eu estudo todos os dias , não muito tempo, mas todos os dias tenho uma rotina para estudar estudar, estudo língua portuguesa numa aplicação chamada Duolingo, eu acho que ter dado resultados pequenos, mas resultados ao final kkkkkk,,, anteriormente se me fazia mais fácil o italiano que o português, mas neste último tempo ter decidido aprender português melhor é mais lindo,,, bom cada língua tem seu charme verdade,,,,kkkk sempre vejo seus vídeos são muito muito claros.

Minha rotina matinal começa com retribuição de energia e meditação. Depois um bom banho seguido de alguns cuidados com o ambiente e, depois , uma prática de Swásthya Yôga.

Legal! Eu costumo ouvir meia hora de rádio em inglês enquanto me preparo para ir trabalhar. Depois disso, estou no autocarro a ouvir um podcast em português. À noite, depois do jantar, leio algum artigo de jornal ou revista em italiano. E antes de ir a dormir, ouço algumas gravações francesas de nível principiante. Para ser honesta, essa rotina me ajudou muito a melhorar minha compreensão auditiva e a aprender vocabulário. Obrigada pelas dicas!

Eu tenho uma rutina matinal que é parecida á sua. Em quanto á meditação e alongamento, essas coisas são as primeiras que faço depois de arreglar a minha cama. Também eu acho que é muito importante começar o dia bebendo agua. Eu trabalho mais cedo pela manhã que você porque eu sou professor de inglês numa escola primaria. Então, eu faço o exercício mais tarde no dia, mas tenho que andar a casa de minha colega que me traz á escola em carro, então isso pode contar como exercício e receber o sol. Pela tarde, trato de deixar todos o laptop, o celular, e as coisas electronicas uma hora antes de dormir. Também eu gosto fazer uma meditação e escrever no diario, contando as coisas e emoções que eu tenho vivido pelo dia. Eu amo a seu canal! Um abraço estadounidense desde Espanha :)

Depois que acordo, costumo fazer café da manhã e ouvir música brasileira, como Bossa Nova, Tropicália e Funk. Depois de tomar meu café, estou pronto para começar a estudar com você. Nas últimas 5 manhãs com você, notei que preciso traduzir e ler cada vez menos. A pronúncia é a mais difícil porque eu só falo inglês e espanhol, embora eu goste de ouvir os sons de Português, então estou aprendendo naturalmente. Português é a primeira língua que estou aprendendo por diversão, mas estou percebendo que meu amor pela lingüística pode iluminar mais insight, como ser consciente sobre minha rotina matinal e viver uma vida que eu amo. Kudos Virgina: Esta e a primeira vez que vejo voce como voce realmente e e e uma qualidade muito atraente. Alem diss, notei, olhando para outros professores de portugues, que seu estilo de entrega e lento o sufficiente para que eu possa acompanha-lo. Embora meu entendimento de portugues seja muito limitado. Parabens! Voce tem uma otima presenca de palco, forcando um sorriso ou nao. We read the book in class I believe it was called les belle sours. We read the english version, and even for me a native english speaker, it was a confusing book and I personally found it hard to follow. I also live in montreal so It makes sense we read that book in class.

Minha rotina matinal: Todos os dias eu geralmente acordo cedo no 4 horas. Então eu bebo dois copos de água morna. Água potável logo após acordar de manhã é bom para a nossa saúde, especialmente para a boa digestão. Depois disso, tenho uma oração de madrugada e meditação. Então eu estudo Português e coreano. Eu assisto vídeos do KZread ou ouvir podcasts. Sempre gostei de ter estudado línguas estrangeiras. Então eu tomo café da manhã com minha esposa enquanto ouve podcasts em português ou em coreano. Depois do café da manhã, minha esposa e eu vamos passear por cerca de 30 minutos. Então eu começo a trabalhar em 8 até 12. Minha rotina noturna: Após o trabalho diário eu sempre gasto 1 ou 2 horas estudando Português e coreano. Eu também faço trabalhos de tradução do inglês para o indonésio. Então eu vou para a cama cedo às 9 e dormir 7 horas para acordar cedo.

@@SpeakingBrazilian Io trovo Instagram molto utile per iniziare a imparare italiano. Mi piace molto il cibo italiano, e dunque seguo molti conti sulla cucina italiana e semplicemente diventa una parte del mio giorno abituale esattamente come dici qui. Potrebbe essere lo stesso con il portoghese?!

Alguma sugestão para rotinas restauradoras e produtivas quando você tem filhos pequenos?

Virginia-- 1: can you recommend (preferay a couple) portugues podcasts i could access on youtube? 2: Seeing as how you are very familiar with learning new languages, will playing a podcast or whatever else in portugues in the background help me get better somehow even if i can not understand people speaking the language well when i actively pay attention and try to understand? Passively listening it becomes just a bunch of noise, maybe even like listening to the violin, often. What do you think? I dont know how to improve from beginner to intermediate without professional classes and lessons requiring conversation daily and i do not have the time or passion to study often enough more actively

For beginners, I recommend my podcast because I speak slow Portuguese: - Podbean: speakingbrazilian.podbean.com - iTunes: bit.ly/SpeakingBrazilian For intermediate and advanced students, I recommend Café Brasil Podcast: www.portalcafebrasil.com.br/todos/podcasts/ 2. This is a great question. No, I don't think you can learn much from podcasts if you don't understand anything of what is being said or if you don't pay attention. I believe that learning requires intention. So, if you are listening to an audio while you do something else, you need to bring your attention to the audio if you wish to learn something. If you are a complete beginner and cannot understand Portuguese at all, I recommend you listen and read at the same time (the audio transcript), until you get used to the language. In order to learn from listening, you need to understand at least the general context of what is being said. If you don't know how to read Portuguese yet, then I recommend you join a beginners course. I believe it is possible to learn anything you want on your own, however, it requires a lot of discipline and commitment. Having the guidance of a teacher can help you a lot in the beginning. Hello Austin As a Language teacher myself, one of the most important things needed to acquire a new language is comprehensible input, which is what you get through the videos. The English transcript is there so you know what she is saying: comprehensible input. 2. You need to learn the words. This is Hard work as their pronunciation and spelling are somewhat different than Spanish, at times. 3. Prof. Virginia's enunciation is excellent. I imagine her pronunciation is standard "Brazilian". (I am a native Spanish speaker). 4. You will need a lot of comprehensible input, so imagine that you are a toddler listening to adults. You have to listen actively. This stage may take awhile. We call this method " The Natural Approach ", which is basically how we learned our first language. One of my profs at UC Irvine developed this theory in the 70s. Lastly you need maintain your motivation. Plan to go to Brazil. Make some Brazilian friends ... Use your Portuguese for an "Authentic Purpose", the most important element in the Natural Approach. Eu falo ingles e chines (Cantonese) fluentemente. Quando eu como jantar e lavo louca, eu assisto programa chineses. Estou estutando portugues brasiliero todos os dias pelo menos uma hora por dia. Todos os dias eu leio um livro portugues brasileiro.

Recomendo 3 podcasts em português: Speaking Brazilian Podcast (iniciantes/pre-intermediário) Café Brasil Podcast (intermediário/avançado) CBN (avançado)

I've watched maybe 10 or 12 of your videos, and this is the first one where you were speaking at normal speed. Most of them are much slower. For beginners, I suppose the slow speed is good, but I'm intermediate and prefer this faster, normal speed. I'd also like an option to turn off the subtitles so that those of us who are intermediate or advanced don't get any hints from the subtitles and just have to understand the speech.

A minha rotina matinal é muito simples. Normalmente da segunda a sexta eu acordo as seis ou seis e meia e vou a banheiro para fazer coisas. Logo eu me vesti, tomo uma taça de água morna e vou a trabalho. Às vezes eu acordo um pouco mais cedo e estudo línguas. Do sábado a domingo eu faço o mesmo que faço os dia da semana mas acordo às oito ou nove porque na sexta estudo muito línguas até noite ou meia-noite. Às vezes quando eu almoço no trabalho ouço rádio mas isso e não minha rotina matinal. Diria que é minha rotina meio-dia.

I also noticed that you do trill your R's such as "por mais ou menos" and with the word "noturna" since you say you have an accent from the Sul - am I noting something mixed with your origins from the NorthEast?

minha rotina diária é a seguinte. Eu sempre acordo muito cedo, às 5:30 ou 6 da manhã. Começo meu dia com café e leio minha Bíblia em português. Eu sempre começo meu dia com oração pelo meu dia e pelas pessoas da minha vida. depois disso, vou à nossa missa com meus colegas e trabalhadores. depois da missa, irei para casa e conversarei com meu trabalhador, José. conversamos sobre o trabalho dele e o que ele precisa fazer naquele dia. Depois, preparo meu café da manhã (chamamos de mata-bicho) e como antes de começar meu trabalho. Eu trabalho até o meio dia quando eu almoço e cochilo. Levanto-me às 13:30 e começo a trabalhar novamente. trabalho a tarde toda no meu escritório até as 18h, quando preciso ligar o gerador novamente, porque não temos energia o tempo todo. então, estou pronto para o jantar. Eu preparo o jantar e como. depois do jantar, assisto a filmes ou séries na televisão portuguesa com legendas em inglês. às 20:30, tomo banho e leio um pouco até às 21:30, quando vou para a cama. não temos energia depois das 21:00 e nosso país tem muitos mosquitos; portanto, quando está escuro, você precisa ficar embaixo das redes ou pode ter malária.

Nossa, eu falo 07 línguas ...o inglês, o francês e o espanhol eu falo fluentemente o restante eu aprendi de qualquer jeito!! Kkkkkkkk

El dominar un idioma es dificil. Require muchas ganas (como dicen los mexicanos), y tiempo. Pero te abre las puertas a un mundo nuevo, de gente, cultura y literatura. Saludos desde Cali (California, como decimos los mexico-americanos) !

Não tenho uma rotina matinal além de scrollar Shorts por duas horas. É muito estúpido

Tudo amanha eu accordo 6h30 e immediatamente arrumo minha cama e abro minha janela. Depois eu escovo meu dentes e tomo um bano. Directamente seguindo eu ascendo para ao tres andar para oracao de matinal com tudos minhas irmas. Nos oracemos e canticamos para uma hora mas o menos e depois compartimos desjejum juntos. Depois eu caminho para trabalhar a pe sozinho.
