Hi Manik, I have a query. Can an IMG also moonlight in residency ? Isn't there any moonlighting policy for residents on H1B and J1 visas that prohibits them from moonlighting. If it's possible for IMGs, kindly make a detailed video on the topic.

if u have J1 visa then it is not possible to moonlight. Moonlighting is possible on H1B visa or with a green card at least according to my knowledge.

@@abcd-fw2fd according to my seniors, H1B visa can also do it but they need a NOC from their employer which usually is not given by them because they are actually providing visa for u so only they deserve your services. Hence a much more comfortable option will be the GC.

Specialities which are competitive like surgery, cardiothoracic surgery etc ..... they usually select their own residents for that....most IMGs match in less competitive fields.....however it is not completely impossible for yoy but it is super rare

And by safe side I mean do it asap cz otherwise you might have to worry it’s taking a lot pf time and it shouldn’t be that your payment goes in vain (I mean the thoughts not sure what in reality it’s like you can ask from ecfmg official email they’ll get back to you in 2 days )

well yes, as a UK resident or junior doctor at FY2 position or high, basic salary is less but there are added extra payments for nights and weekends u do on the same job. On the other hand, a UK doc is allowed to do locums even from the start so some of my seniors even double their total income by doing locums there. However, it is not a trustworty source of income as in some weeks, u might not find locums to do.....but if u do... it does pay nice.

It is very less salary almost useless

He is a resident which means he is still training. He is bound to earn less. Also, u are wrong. In Indian terms he is earning 3 lakh per month. He said that he earns 2200 biweekly. Hence 2*2200= 4400 dollars per month which is 3 lakh if we remove taxes. In India residents earn 30k per month. Also, is ppp is not 16 times. Fake news
