"My Romance" - SOLO JAZZ GUITAR

All musicians have their own heroes. Someone you've listened to for hundreds of hours, and who with his playing has inspired you to practice and learn .. For me, one of the absolute greatest guitar heroes is the guitarist Jim Nichols, who I have now listened to since I was a teenager.
When I turned 30, I received a gift from my wife during a trip to the United States, and I was asked to take the rental car up to an address in Pacifica (just south of San Francisco). I knocked on the door, and who opens if not Jim Nichols. I spent a whole day with Jim and his lovely wife Morning, and we played and played .. One of my most inspiring days so far in my life, and an “guitar lesson” out of the ordinary. Jim plays everything from Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins to Bebop (listen to the album "Jazz & Country", available to stream .. Even better .. buy the album online!), And I have learned so much by listening to his playing.
This version of "My Romance" is dedicated to Jim. I listened Jim's arrangement, and added my own ideas and then improvised on the form. Hope you like it.

Wow Emil! When you go on those rubato section on the melodies I get chills... you use relatively simple harmonies (simple in jazz terms) but so tastefully! Great stuff.

Emil, stellar playing here. You added some new life to an already great jazz standard. Sometimes I hear shades of Ted Greene in your playing. Maybe I'm off, but either way, excellent!
