    Really good video. I love this FZone system and it suits perfectly. 20 mins a month to refill and really good control with the bubble counter. Yes some will prefer a 'proper' set up but I like the low initial cost and refilling is part of the enjoyment. Also I don't have to travel to get the gas topped up or order fire extinguishers on 'the bay'. Suits me fine, thanks for the great review.

    @@atkinsnatureaquariums3552 I forgot to ask you. after adding all the ingredients, how long did it take to get the tank up to enough pressure to start running the co2? Also, some have said to tilt the bottle at a 45 degree angle when adding water then screw on the regulator quickly afterwards to get a better reaction, but I didn't see you do that, so I guess that really doesn't make a difference whether you sit the bottle straight up or tilt it does it? I'd appreciate your input if you don't mind, thanks!

    @@destryl1076 the reaction is pretty quick, I can watch mine slowly build pressure as it sits, but I usually give it a good 2-3 hours before I start it back up. I try to refill when lights are off for the night so the bottle can just build pressure over night and the timer solenoid takes care of the rest. Thanks for comment and hope I could help

    @@atkinsnatureaquariums3552 what is the best way to refill the generator? Just take the regulator off and refill with just water or add the same amount of citric acid and baking soda? Thanks bro, appreciate the help!

    @@destryl1076 yeah I basically make sure to rinse out any leftover material from the inside, let it dry out before I start the refill process. I add the dry ingredients first then the water.

    I have a 5 pound c02 reactor for my main tank, but have been thinking about getting one of these for my 20 long. They seem like an easier option than the actual canisters of c02 for a smaller tank.

    I would say go for it, it takes barely any time to refill a canister. Plus refills are cheap if you buy in bulk. One thing I changed was the diffuser, I use an inline CO2 diffuser on my canister filter.

    Appreciate the video just purchased my first co2 system ever from Fzone, but this one has a single needle guage valve on the regulator that comes with the solenoid with the kit for $99, your links only take me to buying the regulator or solenoid, not the full kit though can't wait to get mine set up as the ZDRD kit was garbage to me even the free replacement was garbage and still came with the missing cotton filter for the regulator screw on top inclosure what a nightmare with that brand!! Said to wait 10 hours for pressure to build up, and even after 10 hours still did not have the amount of pressure to keep it going for not even 5 minutes! Total waste of time and waiting for nothing 😴

    hey! i have a question to be safe can i fill it with less ingredients so the pressure isnt that high and so it wont explode?

  • @atkinsnatureaquariums3552

    @atkinsnatureaquariums3552

    I haven't had any problems with my having to much pressure that it got damaged, they have a built in safety valve that releases the pressure if it gets to high. Using less ingredients would mean less reaction time, so you would go through refills faster depending on how much co2 you use.

    I have it shut down for now. Not for any fault of the product but I have lost alot of the time I used to have. I couldn't maintain the tank like it should of, so I slowly turned it down and now in limbo with co2 till I can get a better maintenance schedule.

    I would check your solution, it might be bad, or your not getting enough saturation in the water column. without knowing what filter your using, it might be not enough flow.

    I have tried various methods of supplementing CO2 and a variety of equipment to do so. For the cost of the Fzone generator kit, you can get a nice full pressurized setup used if you are patient, and if you aren't patient, it won't likely cost you muchore. I think in general, the F Zone brand is a bit overhyped and has not been around long enough to really determine longevity of the products. Their lower end regulators are unimpressive and problematic. An advantage of running a full up pressurized setup is less work and more consistency than a DIY type generator setup. On my 125g display I run a high amount of CO2, and a 10lb cylinder will last me 4 months. I exchange the cylinder, toss the regulator baxl on and am up and running for another 4 months. Much less time and labor intensive than a DIY setup, and it offers you the ability to run many tanks off a single CO2 setup. I would not try to run multiple tanks off a generator setup due to the limit CO2 supply as the reaction within the cylinder occurs. Just my .02. Im glad you are seeing positive results in your tank. Thanks for taking the time to make the video!

    Yeah I definitely want to get a real co2 reg and all that. Eventually, I'll have one of those, I'm glad you liked the video! I think I like this so much because I can refill it in my own home, since my car broke down, I imagine it would be difficult for me to replace a conventional co2 system. That for me was the biggest drive to get this system for me.
