I am new mommie too, I can relate with you my baby was full term but still he was under weight and he couldn't latch properly. I had flat nipples my mother in law itself gossipped about this those days were really depressing. I used to cry a lot and let me tell you pumping and feeding a baby is so hectic i literally didn't know anything other than pumping and feeding baby for a month. Then my mother advised don't take tension just keep trying as baby latches nipples will be outwards. Thankfully today my baby is exclusively breastfeeded seeing him smiling and gaining good weight makes me realise it was all worth it. New mommies please listen whatever your heart says ignore everything.

Hi dr, kudos to whatever u have done n doing for your little one. I faced similar problem, but the nipple didn't turn outward, and my baby couldn't latch at all!! I then did 30-70 mothers and formula. I don't want to happen this for my second one. Pls help me how you overcame this flat nipple issue!

@@beingsukku Hi dear , You can start doing nipple massage from the beginning of your pregnancy like just pulling them frontwards. Nipple massage during pregnancy is extremely important. Honestly I didn't do it that's why I faced that issue. Please try to do it on a day basis if you are carrying for second time.

This is really all I need …. That Iam not the only person facing this issue …. It’s only been a week … my baby facing difficulties keeping my nipples inside to lact …. She is not actively sucking…. Kudos to you dear. I know that pressure of pumping and feeding. On initial 10days of my delivery I use to pump and feed my baby because of my flat nipple. That was very much hectic. Now thank god she used to it and my nipples were become normal and she is now taking direct feeding. Pumping and feeding or direct feeding all are good anyway our baby is getting our milk. ❤❤❤❤

Yes sister... For me milk also less producing nad flat inverted nipples... I am giving formula milk for my newborn and pumping milk ... But still pumped milk volume is very less... Getting only 10-15 ml per day... Seriously compared to direct feeding, formula feeding and pumping takes a toll on mental and physical health... Very tiering

Exactly what you said is 💯 tr rue. Many husbands and mother in law willnot understand the true mother's pain. If secretion is there no mother will avoid to feed. Situation happens like that with low secretion for few. Accept the reality because on the final day baby is important and he/she should not be hungry

Hi sister.. are you able to exclusively breastfeed... I'm having twins...born at 33 weeks..since we used palada feed now they are having difficulty latching... are you using a feeding bottle now ??

I delivered baby girl preterm at 33 weeks. I was not able to feed her as she was below 2 kg. I tried nipple shield it was too painful so I stopped trying and exclusively started pumping. Till date I feed by expressing and through bottle. But true we dont have choice and accept that baby is fed and happy.

Hi Deepika , I delivered my baby in the US, my baby used to latch properly in between he had little nose block so doctor suggested nipple shield which was very easy for him to latch due to the blocked nose .. I continued with the nipple shield itself for exact 3 months cause his latching had improved and I saw a good improvement in his wet diapers . Nipple shield is used to increase the sucking reflex in baby’s so I his first 3 months was only Nipple shield later on I removed the shiled and he came directly because he had good reflex. You should have just continued with the nipple shield . Kindly ignore other people advise or suggestions. Do what is working for you and baby .

I think stomach pain is something related to our food deeps because I experienced this. To increase BM we must concentrate on our food. A few foods literally increase mine like garlic,fish, wheat and pomegranate. Don't consume a lot of milk to increase BM because that's affected my stomach (bacterial infection). But consuming enough milk is mandatory i think so Nipple shield is initially the best idea to help our new born for lactation. We can increase our BM through manual pump also yet we have to follow one thing 2hrs schedule time is more important.

Romba correct uh soneenga..when people say take rest while baby is asleep, thry really don't understand that it is possible always ....edhuna vela irundhute irukum when baby is asleep like pumping, sterilising,baby chores and eating food( eating time maaridum).....im t this stage now without proper sleep, proper food intake and idhula c section wound infection vera with heavy anti biotics whjch makes me feel dizzy and vomitting throughout.....enakum milk supply very less and i dont get enough time to pump or latch as time flies very fast everyday even though i plan to pump / breast feed multiple times.... sometimes i even think if im a good mom but then i convince myself that i have gone through a big surgery and I'm doin great and good foe ny baby and i will definitely take control and handle of situation soon under control and things will happen as i expected...

You are right , nipple shield really helps - my friend from UK suggested Medella Nipple shield - thank God she suggested it otherwise my feeding experience was a nightmare. The Medella nipple shield is super thin and I continued using for 2 months - post which I breastfed directly for 2.5 years. I had retracted nipples and nipple shield helped big time. Also many moms don’t know about Hakka pump - you can pump in one side n feed in the other - it increases supply and super easy to use

My baby boy was born full term at 38 weeks....he had amazing sucking reflex and was directly breastfeeding in the 1st week...after one week he stopped taking my breasts...i consulted many lactation experts...tried many techniques(nipple ahield, cup feeding, KMC, etc) to make him take my breasts again....but no luck till now.. I am exclusively pumping and i know its very tough...my baby is almost 5 months now..i am still hoping he will start breastfeeding again!!!!

What I learnt from my First baby is, YAAR PECHUM KEKADHENGA. Do what u feel is right for your baby! No matter what it is. . My elder one is 5.5 years now and I'm carrying second one and completed 31 weeks now. Unfortunately tis time I have been diagnosed with something called SUA 🙏 Hope I have a healthy baby and delivery 🙂🙏

Hi deepika... I delivered my baby girl by 36weeks 2days (late preterm). I also had good milk supply from day1 but also had flat nipples, baby didn't latch properly. My lactation doctor and gyno suggested me to feed through nipple shield. Initially it was hard for me and my baby but kept practicing continuously, within 3weeks she was able to latch and take her feed directly. Nipple shield is very much useful, it'll definitely make ur flat or inverted nipples proper and also makes the baby to latch easier.

I used pigeon nipple shield bcs of flat nipples. Once it became normal my baby automatically learned to take her feed directly. But telling you what my lactation doctor said. Mrng lah feed pandra apo try without shield. Baby active ah iruka apo shield illama feed try pannunga even he is full it is okay. Let him explore wat it is. It takes time. But still ur baby will slowly get know wat actually breastfeeding is. Cranky ah iruka apo try panna baby will definitely reject whenever you feed directly. So active n happy ah iruka apo direct ah latch panna veinga. And shield potu feed pandra apo he will get into the sleep, apo slowly shield remove pannitu direct feed pannunga, Thookathula apdiye he will take it directly.

What u said 100% true Iam having full term baby faced same issue.. I tried nipple sheild nipple puller everything in market... finnally pumped for months.... It's not that easy to pump with baby... As all says pumping every 2 hrs so difficult... Finnally end up with mixed feeding.... So all new mommies here go with the flow and accept the thing happening...
