It adds a lot of character to him, he gives Boart the "look at this guy." Making Boart feel safe as he seems to be an equal instead of pray, which is what Thresh wants him to feel before continuing to manipulate and taking his soul.

I honestly did buy the skin after the cinematic. Thresh was always about story for me (to be honest mechanically not my favourite playstyle) - this implies Thresh just gained a fun new skill to mask himself as human. Young or old doesn't matter to me much - it's literally a "skin" he puts on so that he can now move between humans. So the cinematic adding a story behind the "hot thresh" look fixed the skin for me (also I have nothing against an occational hot skin, even if at this point I wish for a single new non-human character the likes of Thresh, Vel'koz etc.). And they cinematic nailes his sadism. He sounds so genuinely delighted when he's hunting people. Also, while he seemingly correct some injustice, it really sticks to his character. First - I can see him putting Bort above his "superiors" considering he was a custodian and not a very well loved one. But in all honesty Bort just swaps one curse for another one - this time eternal servitude in a lantern. And Thresh, honestly, gets both souls and the sheer sadistic fun of torturing them afterwards.

I like the old Tresh. But, I don't mind this one.

Thresh has become strong enough he outsources the torturing.

I really like this tresh, i would love to see the original skeleton tresh when he is doing his evil ghosty stuff but when he is calm and bettwen others he looks like this version from the cinematic. The original unbound can be forgoten

He looks great imo,the face,the voice and his overall character. If rito made him an anime fuckboy id be so disappointed. On this trailer he reminds me of swain in a good way. Lets hope rito keeps this up

It just made sense to me cuz that’s shadow iles whole thing, they drain the living of their life so they would be getting stronger w more souls and also look younger to represent that cuz your taking something to also gain something and that’s perfect for shadow iles

I'm split on it. Yes it's clearly a censorship motivated move to get base skin Thresh out of the Chinese market, but there are a lot of possibilities open now that Thresh is a villain that can "walk among us". At least they are going to use that instead of just censor him and maintain the status quo in a purely utilitarian fashion, this does push Thresh's character forward and they are going to run with it for better or for worse. I still don't like the skin as well, but I'm somewhat optimistic on the potential for Thresh's post-Viego story

Well to be fair, Riot made Thresh in Wild Rift more... "Child Friendly" for China I guess? Unbound Thresh is the classic Thresh skin. No skulls.

Why do kids need to play this game? they'll just wreck your games in rank mode and they don't have money to buy skins yet plus the fact that making the lore child friendly will definitely lower the quality of the story.

Welp, if they really want the lore they can always play and explore the pc version. I guess Riot is just making the mobile version like a Tease or Trailer of what the lore of Runeterra is. That's just my opinion though.

@@NataFishu It's not for 'child friendly' purposes. That's BS. They want to cater the Chinese players, why? Because China is a huge impact to any game. Honor of Kings is one of the highest grossing games, and that game is only available in China. China also has one of the largest player base for LoL.

@@GipJo Having skulls in your game does not make it exclusively for mature players. Skulls are frowned upon in their culture, which is ironic considering the amount of bad stuff their government does.

i think tresh regains his youth as he collect souls , so in the cinematic one he just got freed and started collecting souls ,so he looked older

I like they cinemática but, i algo think that the centinels event was a good moment to transform skull tresh into a "human" tresh only for wild Rift issues and also the centinel of clowns event kill the essence of the champions in it.

Thresh enjoys torture whether he is doing it or having others do it too. That fully makes sense for his character and now that he is free every single soul he encounters he doesn't need to rush anymore.

If they make any change, it's probably gonna be just changing the splash art a bit so it looks like the cinematic but leave the in game skin untouched

The Spirit Blossom skin is supposed to share a similar look to Unbound because they both use portions of his original look before turning into the thresh. So I can see why they wouldn't want to pointlessly retcon his look but make it a fusion between his original look we see parts of in SB for his Unbound design.

My Dude Thresh is now Ghost count Dracula major improvement for this so-called skin!

It takes way to long for cinematics to be made for this to be a response to player feedback. More likely it is diversified art direction from different sections of the company, just like how some of the Sentinels of Light event was bad, and some was good.

that's the complaint I had is that the cinematic and the skin looks so different from each other. One face is so angular and the other is so young and plump. the body shape is different as well. I personally don't mind either but It would have indeed be interesting to see a skin based on the cinematic because it is closest to what is assumed thresh pre-shdow isel form was; which makes sense on why you see it here as well. Also, what do you think the people outside think of all the ghosts outside lol

That's the real lore Thresh human form. He is free of Viego. Also Thresh in lore is a very smart and intelligent person

the funny thing is that in LoL wild rift this is Thresh and not the skin for Thresh and we all probably read his Bio and we know that he never want his human form but the thing is that Riot want for its younger players to not see scary faces in wild rift and that's why the league players doesn't like this idea at all.

I dont know.I watched both of your videos.For skin that is free ,I am not mad.I like even more his sinnister shape here.His human "form" is just a mask.I like that now tresh have some character,not only skull walkin around shadow isle and taking peoples souls.Maybe he change his mask to appeal more to people depend on there preference.Still for free skin I am not so mad.

You are not the classic hater who only criticizes (and you are not I put it in context only) but does not give his objective point of view of the matter, for example I liked how you took the Thresh model in the cinematic and compared it with his splash art How you were sincere and expressed that you liked that cinematic and I like the way you divide each point, you hit the spot by saying "the story telling department did it well" "production" blah blah blah. In my humble opinion Riot did very bad at the Sentinels of Light event but they are there to hear suggestions and opinions because they say so in their videos when presenting content.

im slightly ok with it. mostly the direction riot wants to go with it.. like thresh has evolved nolonger bound to the shadow isles. however they didnt really cover it well.. and then for instance wild rift. they say its for the kids. yet tbh i just think its for them to not do much work since china doesnt like characters with bones exposed. tho necrit pointed out some good points with his recent video with the comic. that theres just to many inconsistencies which may say alot about the state of riot atm

personally from a narrative standpoint i love the cinematic the whole idea that this skin is really just his undercover thing so that he can freely roam runeterra is a great idea, but i cannot ignore the fact that the skin was misnamed unbound thresh isnt the right name for this skin. Its great that this cinematic happened but i still feel like riot couldve definitely used a different name or changed the design to make more sense for thresh's canonical lore where he hates being in a fleshy body. But overall this cinematic is great the idea that unbound thresh is just his undercover thresh skin is not a bad way to fix this issue.

I agree a more fitting name could have been found, but he's "Unbound" because he's not trapped in the Shadow Isles anymore. Before, most if not all of the denizens of the shadow isles could only move with the Black Mist, hence why they only appeared on the mainland during the harrowing or when Viego spread the mist. Now that Thresh has a "body" back, he's no longer bound to the Isles and can wreak havoc on the world and keep gathering souls to grow stronger.

I gotta recommend you to watch the wild rift model. He look so cool imo

Different from the splash art or not, the cinematic was awsome... I mean to be honest why in obama's butt cheeks would you turn a gawd damn ruthless grim reaper (i guess) into an eboy looking character?? Literally doesn't makes sense at least for a lore... The cinematic is unarguably better...
