Yeah sure I can share what questions I had. - what interested me about the role - time management and a question around supporting clients 1-1 - stress management and work life balance - working in a team and liaising with others - responding to change and managing difficulties - just to reflect on my experiences and how I can fit into the iapt service - role play - speaking to someone to perform a first assessment to get to know the person

Thanks for this, have an interview today. Pretty experienced as a therapist but still very nervous as I know pwp positions are competitive and the role much faster paced. Hoping to go high intensity later down the line if successful.

@@annieb7467 Hey, the questions varied; from accessing risk to why I applied/what I'd bring to the role. Yes; I had a role play and the interview was remote on Teams.

@@annieb7467 Yes, I was aware there would be a role play. If you're currently preparing an application/for an interview I'd encourage you to enquire about whether they'll be a role play. It was around 30/40 mins. Role play was timed at 5 mins. Good luck!

Hi Natalia. This video is super helpful - thank you so much for making it and including the assessment sheet in the details too! I'm just wondering if you could explain the group question a little? Do they mean how you would organise a treatment group? Also, will you get told in advance if the interview will include a role play? I've had 2 PWP interviews so far and 1 more to go but so far no role plays - just situational questions. Again thanks so much for all the info you provided in this video!

Hi! Apologies I've only just seen this comment so I hope I'm replying in time 😊 from my experience they will tell you beforehand if you've got a roleplay so if you haven't been told I doubt you have one! In terms of the group question I think it was quite open, how you would organise or what you'd keep in mind during the group. Whatever your interpretation is just go for it 😊 both of those aspects are important when running groups so as long as you're giving a good answer for whatever your interpretation it shouldn't matter

Hi Louise 😊 I'm not doing this job now, I chose to take a different role called trainee associate psychological practitioner (a brand new role) instead. Maybe I'll do a video about why I made that decision though! Also, I know a lot of Pwps so I'm sure I can get some involved in videos to chat about their experiences! I think that would be really fun 😊 I'm glad you found this video useful!

I really want a job in a iapt service so I can get a trainee and then become a pwp but it’s so hard it’s been a year I keep applying 😭😭😭

Did you find it difficult to get on the role and do you think voluntary support worker experience would be sufficient?

Hi!! I got offered the job after my first interview 😊 my only clinical experience until that point was a voluntary peer support worker role so it's definitely possible to get on with just that! The main thing is you need to prove you know what the job is about, what IAPT is like etc, that you're able to work efficiently and to targets. My most recent video is part 1 of a series that'll hopefully explain loads about the role to help that!! 😊

When they invited you for the interview did they mention that they will get you to do role play

If I have no qualifications can I do this course am a live in support worker living with young adults in semi independent living so have just experience?

Hi! I actually don't know I'm afraid. If you Google trainee pwp jobs hopefully a bunch will come up and you can check the person spec for what qualifications you might need 😊 I would assume as you receive a postgraduate certificate upon completion of training you'd need an undergraduate degree but I'm not actually sure so best to check.
