This is part 1 of a 2 part oil painting video where I show you how I painted this cat and dog commission. I show you how planning your oil paintings at the start will help reduce issues during the painting process.
In Part 1 I show you how I painted the cat and discuss the colours used, how to use complementary colours for neutrals like cream, show you my palette and also how I used my brushes to get the fur effects. The principles that I discuss in the oil painting tutorial can be used for painting any object in neutrals.

The more I seem to learn, the more I realise I don’t know! Thank you for all the useful tips throughout. Look forward to next week, as I do find I don’t always have the confidence to stray too far away from my reference photo.
