The first challenge was just your moves, not your opponent's. So your second forward move ended it because you couldn't move anything backwards the next move. Knights would've been better there, but basically as long as you didn't push two pawns you would've been ok.

Don't feel the need to always reveal your drawback unless you really want to spite your opponent (or you're just showing them that it's no longer relevant). Some of the drawbacks are so hard to the point they're almost if not completely impossible without your opponent letting you win. For example Closed Book: you lose if you start your turn with an open file, Rising Waters: Every 10 turns the water level rises one rank (from your perspective) and you can't move pieces to or from the water. There's also one where must win within if I recall 16 moves which is obviously unrealistic.

IDK about y'all but to me it seems like a lot of the time, putting in max ELO and also revealing the challenge just makes it too hard for him to ever win. The opponent here wasn't necessarily blundering pieces; since the challenge was revealed, they were able to know that they could get away with those moves. I'd be OK with just max ELO or revealed challenge, not necessarily both. The fun of this channel (to me anyway) is watching him overcome the challenge rather than succumb to it. He should lose sometimes as victory shouldn't be a foregone conclusion, but the drawback chess website matches seem to usually result in a loss.
