I get what you are saying. And it’s the exact reason why I would live in a place like that. I’m getting priced out of my country, probably have to find an area like this to retire. Either if it’s in the Americas or in a Asian country.

I’m actually in Puerto Vallarta right now for 9 days, visiting from Canada. I too, feel a bit uncomfortable with the huge wealth gap between the visitors and locals. I’m not sure how to feel about visitors treat the city as a playground and leave. It’s a place for play, not for living. I wonder how most of the locals feel about this….I know visitors brings in tons of money to the city, but that also brings with gentrification and making the city unliveable for locals. There are people making tons of money here and many more are working harder just to keep the wheels turning.

Difficult situation but, i think we can make trough all together

I hate what is happening to PV and all of Mexico it makes me sad that the locals are being pushed out because they can not afford it anymore. I agree something needs to change.

Some landlords are getting greedy

Gentrification sucks ! Hard for me to afford my month of november. Staying here in november for 10 years. Now it's very pricey.I understand economics. That's life , things change. It sucks though.

I am sad that Mx feels the need to bend to the needs of gentrification 😔 I wish Mexicanos would stand their ground to NOT bend to the American needs!! Americans will bring their tourism dollars regardless!! Viva Mexico forever!!

In Canada, inflation and taxes got so high rents have reached the ceiling, we receive about one million and a hafl new immigrants a year, Our healtcare suffers and housing too. Me too, sometimes' i dont feel at home in my native city. The leaders of the word (Word Economic Forum) are creating chaos. We also are loosing our freedom and its going to get worse, that is why people are fleeing. I am sorry it s affecting the Mexican people negativlly. Maybe your governement should forbid foreigners to buy housing. Do you think this would help?

The economy would actually crash! That is a fact. Most tourists travel like locals,not tourists, alot of your Divers and marine specialists are coming in from all over the world. I have only rented from locals for the past 9 years. I speak Spanish and grew up in the culture. It's toxic and racist. Your own economy is responsible for increasing prices. Use brains not ego! Just saying
