My Pathway to MEDICAL SCHOOL | From CANADA

Hey guys, welcome to my first official video for my KZread channel. To skip to my journey, it starts at 2:30! My channel is going to feature information that I found really helpful when I was applying to medical school, so I'd like to share as much of that as I can through my videos on here!
Today I'm talking about my specific journey into medical school, the path that I followed after University, and where I finally decided on firming medicine at.
A link to my Instagram is / raosharon where I hope to post more as I build my channel!
Thanks so much for watching, and stay tuned for more of these that I'll be filming over the next bit! Please leave a comment on what you'd like me to discuss in my next few videos, or feel free to like and subscribe :) / @sharonrao5945

Thank you so much for sharing your story! I'm applying now for pre-med and would want to go to med school soon, however being an immigrant people I know have been telling me that it's really hard to get into med school and I should consider a career change. I love how you did not give up despite rejections and failures.

@@hedieh1492 you can do medical school in another country so long as the school is “Canadian friendly” which means Canada recognizes the degree as equivalent to a Canadian medical degree. A lot of people in America “Canadian friendly” medical schools get their residency in Canada! As for undergrad (university/college) I’m not sure how medical schools in Canada view it. I think it would depend on the particular school.

Would you say biomedical engineering is not a good major for med school? Also, is an u dergrad in Life Science from UofT a bad decision for med school?

From all the videos I’ve watched it doesn’t matter what major you have. But for instance let’s say, somewhere along the line you decide you do not want to become a doctor, it’s important to do something you actually like as that would lead to a career you like I guess.
