In this No Limit Hold Em Poker VLOG I am playing Texas Hold Em at Bellagio in Las Vegas. Most of my VLOGs are from playing at the Hustler Casino in Los Angeles. The Hustler Casino is the home of the Hustler Live Stream where players like Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Garrett Adelstein, Phill Hellmuth, Mariano, Rampage Poker, Nick Vertucci, Ryan Feldman, Ryusuke, Doug Polk, Sashimi Poker, Nik Airball and Mr Beast have played. I am trying to gamble my way to a big chip stack and win lots of cash!

Thank you very much!! When the straddle is on I have to raise smaller, because the game halves, so raising to 120 is too big but 80 is too small, hence 2.5x. I would raise to 2.5x with no straddle if it weren’t so frowned upon. It’s a hassle getting $10 chips etc so I just make it 60. As for the 3x on the btn, our EV is highest on the btn so it makes sense to raise a little bigger there!

You say a lot of pros will fold to a $1800 shove into $3600 with QQ in that hand, but they will know you are a capable player whose 4-bet preflop range there likely includes not just AA and KK but also AK (including non-suited combos some of the time) and some suited Ace-wheels. Once they determine that, calling with QQ becomes the correct play.
@garyblackwoodpoker

I think (I hope!) I said he might start folding QQ. I’m not 100% sure tbh it just depends on whether he’s capable. It’s all based on assumptions tbh.

Tough day at the office Gary. I thought your calls weren't even that bad. I'm no pro but I feel sometimes you don't check raise with enough frequency on the flop. E.g. AQ with top pair would be a perfect opportunity for that and it would've denied him that equity which eventually cost you. Same for some of your semi bluffs which I don't think you exploit enough maybe..

Very reasonable constructive criticism, thanks very much
This may be a stupid question, but how do you know who the non-pros at the table are? Is it because of the way they are playing?

Yeah pretty much, e.g if a guy limps in mid position he’s not a pro
7:30 you made such a big 4b, i think AA just gets it in when out of position, if im getting the positions right, ur early pos he's in the BB? Also doesnt BB 3b some suited stuff too, do you think AJs, KJs folds the turn jam? Also maybe jam, and hope he fucks up and calls with TT, a lot of scary cards can come for TT and the jack aswell sometimes mb, im not sure just thinking out loud
@ImDrizzt
25 күн бұрын
I think, you could maybe have sold that you have AK, with that big 4b aswell, and trying to bully him out, i think he'd think ud have 4b a bit smaller like u said, 1050 or around there with AA mb, i tried to sim it, and it was full slam jam all in on the turn (i used 200BB sim)
I doubt good regs are folding QQ on a J-high board to a half-pot turn shove.

Ain’t that the truth!
The kings vs queens is just a shove on the turn, you’re way overthinking it. And if you DO check the turn, there’s no way you can just call the river with a tiny amount behind. You’re a good tight player, but the tightness costs you a lot of money.
@garyblackwoodpoker
Ай бұрын
Mmmmm, I'm still undecided. Thank you for the input.
With your SPR, you should always be shoving the turn to either #1 deny equity to draws and over cards(AK AQ) and #2 get max value vs AJs or QQ. If villain does have QQ, you also don't want to lose him if a K or A hit the river. Honestly, you should have had him narrowed down to QQ the way the hand was played. I definitely did. But you only lost 1k profit. Still a nice pot!
@garyblackwoodpoker
Ай бұрын
He doesn’t call AJs pre. I’ve made it 1200 off of 3700.
@garyblackwoodpoker
Ай бұрын
Also what draws do you think fold for half pot shove, I’d be curious what draws he even has here outwith AQss. Also AK has about 7% equity. I’m okay with risking that being realised if it means TT/QQ are more likely to call a river jam.
@michaelholland7738
Ай бұрын
@garyblackwoodpoker not sure what type of opponent you're facing here. AJ suited isn't a recommended call here but I've seen it happen. I wouldn't do it but I play tighter than most. 10♤9♤ is a great hand to see flops with but would be a guttshot on flop with turned combo draw equity. Pocket 66 may call continuation bet versus perceived over cards and turn a straight draw. Personally I wouldn't be in there fighting with those hands but I've lost to players who were and seen it several times. I also think you are looking at it from the wrong perspective concerning villain holding Ak/AQ. The problem isn't them having 7% equity, the problem is letting them see a free card. They are folding those hands to a jam so unless you think this specific player is going to blast off bluffing on river, it makes little sense to not charge them. Also, like I said, it keeps you from getting paid by QQ if river is an A possibly.
@garyblackwoodpoker
Ай бұрын
@@michaelholland7738 I don’t really know what to say if you think he is going to call a 30bb 4b oop with AJs or T9s when I only have 2500 behind. He’s just not doing that. Also you’re just wrong with the second paragraph. If he always folds AK and TT, allowing him to realise 7% of equity whilst also allowing us to get called on the river by TT and QQ is far higher EV. It keeps both my range and his range wider.
@michaelholland7738
Ай бұрын
@@garyblackwoodpoker if he's calling a river shove with those hands,he's calling a turn shove also without the risk of losing him if an A peels off. So your logic just isn't sound there. Maybe a check for deception on turn gets a call on river but your mindset wasn't there since you didn't shove river. It just makes little EV sense to not shove turn against all those holdings with your SPR unless you are specifically doing it for deception which you clearly were not. It just doesn't make sense brother. Maybe we just see things differently.
