This song reflects Chan’s journey leaving his family in Australia at around age 13 and moving to Korea to pursue his dream of becoming an Idol. Living in a dormitory for seven years training and seeing his friends debut before him or be cut from the program and dealing with it emotionally.

Yes! We were actually impressed about how deep the topic is, specially compared to what Miriam usual expected from a kpop song 😊 I read the lyrics afterwards and wowww straight to the heart 💘

Mmmm, I’m surprised your friend said that kpop seemed all happy and cute, maybe it’s because of the groups I like, but I’ve heard so many meaningful songs, with beautiful, deep lyrics. Stray Kids have made me fall in love with music again, I should point out that I’m 50 years old, and belong to a Facebook group for Stay 30 and older, and we are 3,000 members. Most members are above 45 years old. We all agree that Stray Kids songs are relevant to us, and we even call them kpop for Gen X. The comment about this song being targeted for a younger audience made me laugh, because for me, all I hear is the introspection that I’ve had, as I turned 50. That song is relevant to me and my life struggles.

First of all, amaaaazinggg Facebook group you are in!! It sounds like so much fun 🤩 But also, this is so interesting actually! I think it’s a common image more casual fans (or non fans) have of kpop, that it’s all cute or cheerful. I think it’s partly due to a lot of kpop actually being cute and cheerful 😂 but also probably to lyrics being in a foreign language. Even skz has songs that are club bangers while having heart-ripping lyrics (yes, silent cry, im looking at you). So I get that people expect things like Twice, Girls’ Generation, IVE, etc. Which is also good obviously, just not a reflection of the whole spectrum. I’m happy when I get to show songs like this to people and they get to discover other sides and topics talked about ☺️ Thank you for your comment! Love to hear that skz and Lisa managed to touch many hearts of many ages through this song
