Assalam Alaykom, Your mom asked about those who repent and do good dids at the last bit of their life after being "Bad", here's a humble answer from the Quran that might help : ٥٣ قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ Q39:53 Say, “O My servants who have transgressed against themselves: do not despair of Allah’s mercy, for Allah forgives all sins. He is indeed the Forgiver, the Clement.” Surat Az-Zumar, Aya 53 And by the way, if anyone converts to Islam and repents and pray for the only one God Almighty, his/her sins are completely wiped away, as a new white empty page.
