I'm so happy about this! You are my favorite youtube ESL teacher and I wish I could have gotten my TEFL with you guys. I love teaching beginners and currently have 3 (one just turned 4, one is 5 and one is 7). I'm building my own online teaching business gradually with only 8 students at the moment. 4 of which I've been teaching for approx 4 years. I have students wanting to sign up , but I want to feel better prepared before I take on more. I'm pulling my hair out I taught with VIPKid for 3 years (10,000 classes 1,500 students) so I had all the confidence in the world that the transition would be easy 😂 No, it hasn't been easy. It's been difficult for this ADHD teacher to learn all the new tech. I use the Classin platform and OMG it's been a challenge . I'm paying for 4 different curriculums that I use bits and pieces of in combination with my own usually individualized content. Just piecing it together trying to make the best classes I can has been stressful. Maybe I'm putting too much pressure on myself and making it incredibly more difficult than it should be. I just watched one of your videos on teaching beginners and you are so right!! While in Peru this summer getting my TEFL there was zero instruction on beginner teaching techniques. (that was the most bizarre/toxic educational experience) I was hoping to gain more insight on that as I love teaching beginners. Watching these kids go from a silent phase or a little fearful of repeating to full on conversation is the best feeling ever! However, while in Peru I did learn that group classes are essential. Most Chinese parents think the one-on-one is best, so I'm talking to them now about integrating maybe one group class a week into their child's schedule. Please give me any advice you can think of and I will be carefully watching your upcoming beginner videos. Thanks for reading to the end:) -- Sarah
