    I love getting rid of 'stuff'. Every couple of years I have a big clear out. The loft. The cupboards. The wardrobe. I've got a habit I picked up from my parents which goes like this...don't throw it away, you might need it later...or...the kids might need it... Of course hoarded 'stuff' is rarely ever needed by any one and when I dump it it's like having a big weight lifted off my shoulders. Loving your videos. You're a lovely guy 😊

    Need to do some lists and re-evaluate things as well. Lost my job last Monday morning and have spent the last week or so just sort of relaxing and trying to figure out my path. I think the decluttering (that everyone seems to agree with as well) would be a good start as I have too much "stuff" and it definitely does add to the stress. But, onwards and upwards as they say!

    Lists make life so much easier. You don't have to remember everything. Rowan trees are called Mountain Ash here. They are lovely, but those berries make a mess when they drop, and when the birds come to eat them... droppings all over the place. Not the best kind of tree on a boulevard. When we lived in Germany, the main street was lined with trees, so nice. Then one day we went out for a walk and we saw what you saw on that second tree. I was appalled, but in the spring... lots of branches grew, and the trees were lovely again. Like a miracle.

  • @jaynecotton1014
    @jaynecotton10148 ай бұрын

    The rowan tree. I think its fact that councils now are only allowed to plant native trees, that is , trees native to UK. I know when I did landscaping jobs on communal garden housing estates some years ago, the council would stipulate which trees and shrubs I could plant and would always send some official round to make sure . Some residents complained that many of the trees were boring, or not very ornamental, but hey ho, council had the last word.

  • @jaynecotton1014

    @jaynecotton1014

    Yes. Native trees are great for wildlife and insects, birds ,small mammals. I do believe most local parks and gardens council departments now are obligated to planting native species. you could always lobby your local council to plant more trees . Better for the environment and controlling CO2 emissions. Especially in cities. @@janebaker966

The difficult things are the antiques and things that have intrinsic value. Im not wealthy. So the income is needed, but the raker is terrible! I’ve given things away and sold, but still so much more. It’s exhausting! I really am ready to just practically give the rest away and get on with it.
