I have a photo on one side of us from the 60’s and on the other side of the locket a photo of us now. It’s engraved on the back, with our names , and “Christmas 1968” I treasure it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My nephew passed away early this year. His parents had a locket made for each of his sisters with some of his ashes. They will be gifted them on their wedding day so that they can carry him with them resting over their hearts on their special day. Some people might find this morbid but he was a very, very special young man and the girls will treasure their lockets always.

Such an elegant, simple locket. Beautiful. I had mine for years and it's actually a family heirloom; it belonged to my maternal great-grandmother. You can tell its age by the scratched surface and pieces of the enamel inset missing. However, it is solid gold, of a craftsmanship rarely seen today. And what makes it priceless are the slight indentations/marks from my grandmother's teething. Yes, true story - she grabbed her mother's locket and as a baby and used it to alleviate the aches of her first teeth. Inside, there are old photographs of my great-grandfather on one side, and my grandmother as a baby on the other. While in my mother's possesion (since it was gifted to her first, then passed on to me), she added a cut out of my brother and I, overlaying her grandfather. (Removable, though).

Audrey, congratulations on your locket, it is beautiful! When my beautiful grandmother past away, twenty one years ago, I inherited two things, her locket and her spoon holder that sat on her stove. It doesn’t sound like much but with nine living children and twenty four grandchildren, I didn’t think I’d get anything. The locket is not expensive but it’s a treasure to me and whenever I wear it I feel closer to her. ❤️

I am very lucky that I was passed down my Grandmother's rectangle shaped good size locket; with both My Grandparents initials etched with simple design outside; their wedding photo inside; and my Mom's oval shaped locket with a simple scroll design and my wedding photo inside; both gold and very special to me. My father in law gave me a antique locket when we got married forty years ago and I still love it. It's round and quite heavy but plain on the front so still looks modern X

My mother and her two sisters started a tradition where all of my grandmother's granddaughters receive lockets as gifts when they turn 16. So, all of us were given a locket when we turned 16. I have an oval one with a gold frame with little engraved vines and a silver centre with my initial in the centre, so it goes with any metal. Other cousins had different designs, but I'm glad mine was very timeless and classic. I used to wear it daily, but over the last few years I've been wearing a silver Tiffany's necklace with a horseshoe, a gift from my husband for Christmas one year. We met through horses, I used to compete and he was a farm hand, and so it was a wonderful way to mark that season of my life. I don't ride now, but it's an icon that holds great significance in my life so I'm happy to wear it :) but maybe I'll have to pull my locket out again, I think it could use a new chain.

I love solid pieces as well as it will last forever if taken care of. I have had mine for 18 years, it was a gift when I turned 13th after years of begging my mom for one, I wanted a costume jewelry one as we were poor. Mom saved up over time for my 14k heart locket. I love collecting vintage as they are not common and have very pretty details. I have my late daughter on one side and two older sons with the newest and last addition to our family my baby girl. I love feeling that I have them inside my heart it’s very symbolic for me and very special

There is a new alloy for silver called argentium, which is less prone to tarnishing. I personally wear a pair of charms on a chain (horse and horse shoe on a 1.5mm wheat chain that was given to me by my mother. It is my signature piece) Not a locket person, but the finding at the top is an interesting choice by the jeweler.

I collected cameos in high school and one I loved at a department store was a locket from 1928 (I think they've since changed their name to 2028?) It still has a photo of my cat at the time. My perfect locket came from an antique store in my hometown..a small 9k gold oval with a filigree design...don't know much about it, but it does have a unique way of opening...the front and back come completely apart with no hinge, only being held together by the gold ring the chain goes through...I love it, and my daughter has already called "dibs" on it one day! Lol

I was looking for a locket for a long time until I was in Mexico on vacation. I went to the city of Taxco. Taxco is known for their silver mines. I found my locket there in a small silver shop. My husband bought it for me and put my cats pictures inside. I love that it holds so many precious memories now.

What a beautiful locket! I have a locket gifted to me by my grandmother in my early teens. When I was a toddler our apartment was robbed and all the jewellery I got for my baptism was stolen. My grandmother was horrified learning this (kind of strange that she didn't realise or remember when it actually happened, but anyway) and so she bought me a locket.

I have a similar gold oval locket given to me as a small child by my Great Aunt Una Dell. It has my initials in a beautiful script running from top to bottom. I don’t wear it much anymore, sad to say, because I find that silver suits me better. However, I love to look at and hold the locket now and then because it is one of those treasured, intimate possessions which reminds me of who I am.

I ordered a 14k gold locket from a company called Pictures In Gold. They laser engraved the pictures to the locket so its permanent, not a piece of paper you cut. They can also engrave whatever you wish in the exterior of locket, lifetime warranty and its way less than $1300!

My locket is twice bigger than yours and has a flower engraved. It was a gift from my husband. He custom ordered it for me many years ago. I really wanted one but couldn’t find a nice one, but he found. It’s a very nice jewelry item, might be my favourite one. Yours looks gorgeous, enjoy.

My aunt gifted me a heart-shaped locket when I was little. (My mom put it up for safe keeping until I was old enough to take care for it.) I haven't found a picture that fits just yet; I'd prefer to buy a slightly thicker chain for it -- I find the original one was a little too thin and caught on my sweaters too often.

I don’t know how long you have had your locket or how often you wear it, but I was wondering if you have noticed any scratches or dulling on the surface as it is smooth.

Honestly? My perfect locket was found at a 1928 factory store near where my mom worked in 2003 to 2006. I was in middle school and paid $20 bucks for a golden brass gold heart shaped locket about 1.5 by 2 inches big and it’s beautiful. My first heartshape gold locket was given to me from my boyfriend for my 16th birthday,l still have it and wear it. My boyfriend eventually became my husband, we'll be celebrating our 38 year anniversary this September the same month of my birthday and the day he gave me my locket. ♥️

I found mine on Amazon I was able to engrave something on the back and put in photos

How i can purchase it?

Sadly it is really big and with a very long chain. It is silver. I rarely wear it and since I was a child, I love lockeds and would like to have a smaller one in gold or silver. My locket is gold and was given to me by my late aunt who was born in 1909. And she inherited it from her mother. So I have no idea how old it is but certainly pretty old. I hardly ever wear it , im too scared of losing it, perhaps it's stupid.
