    I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE SPORTSMAN (Shafty) CLASS!!!! By far my favorite class. I think that it is the only true drivers class (no dig, no MOA, no rear steer, no winches). I have a pro, class 1, and 2, but at comps I use them as practice and loosening of nerves for 'my' sporty class. I have embraced (and enjoy) the scale movement, but (and I think that you are similar) I just am not crazy about the 'scale' (confusing, complicated cheater) points aspect. I get the class requirements (tire size, body dimensions, etc), but I come to run trucks....not play doll house. Sorry for snapping on you, but I WILL outdrive someone...will not win by out barbie dolling them. HA! (hope you get the humor in that). Great video as usual, this is the reason I am a subscriber. I love watching you drive, with your cool, collected voiceovers. The 'pooch' making an appearance over your lines does not hurt either. Thank you.

    Torque twist, the arch enemy of sporty and pro class crawlers.

    Love how you're mixing it up, awesome! The terms Sporty and Shafty are used interchangeably but they are different (Sportys have to comply to Sportsman class rules). Keep up the great work 👍

    Logan, not trying to te you what to do here but hear me out. Replace your motors on your MOA with Team Brood 27T Creep motors and you will not bind up. Unless you can’t run brushed on MOA, I have no idea about MOA as far as that goes but I do know that Creep will break whatever stands in it’s way and will not lock up on you.

    So whats the current trend? All my buddys are building the Vanquish Portal kit, and it seems like thats what a lot of people are running but its not my vibe haha. I've built a really nice scx10 got bored with it and built a wraith with some updates and that was a lot more fun. Any cool sportys or other cars that would be a fun platform to build and upgrade overtime that are more comp styled vs "scale". Thanks in advance, you have done a amazing job making these videos!

    I bet it’s suspension geometry more than the “torque twist”.

    Logan, I'm gonna need to know how to mod that scx10 OG front axle! I have an OG honcho rig with the optional CVDs but it's nowhere near the steering throw of your truck.

    Take a look at beeftubes. You can order a set that allows you to use XR c hubs and knuckles from the wraith.

    Drop your rear link riser and reassess your torque twist. Made worlds of difference on mine and I’m running a very similar car to yours.

    Anyone else wonder how these would handle with portal axles? Plus it would reduce torque twist

    Just got my MOA running and get your comment about wanting a more direct connection between the front and rear. Managing your F/R wheelspeed independently all the time gets tiresome. I wonder if running FOC motors can help with that.

    I see the front suspension is mounted upside down. While most rigs and drivers keep the shock tank upside, it's a frequent thing to see people put them upside down. Why do it? Does it really help? In which cases?

  • @ruftime

    @ruftime

    Hi Sebastian! I run some of my shocks upside down for clearance, especially on my LCG frame. I haven’t notice any shock performance difference, and there really shouldn’t be( just like in real vehicles). It’s really about eliminating contact between the shock body and the chassis at extreme suspension positions. Greetings from SoCal😎

    I hear the explanation once that any air in your shocks will rise. so, when you're climbing, running a shock normally will mean the piston ends up in the air bubbles, but flipping them around means the piston is now in the oil. The clearance and cg reasons are also perfectly valid of course, and maybe moreso.

    Hey Logan, nice to see that build. I recently bought a Dlux fab portal tranny, while they were available, for my next build. It does not have overdrive , and was planning on using capra axles, but then adding overdrive front/ underdrive rear in the diffs perhaps, or maybe the portal gear box. I’ve read some bad reviews on very well known overdrive diff gears….very poor fitment issue. Do you have any experience with these over, or under drive gears?? My axles are new capra off an rtr. Oh yeah, was going to use flat carbon fiber rails, maybe a gspeed gshot, or ATL pro V2, just so you know, it is not for a sporty build.

    My experience has been with hot racing OD portal gears, vanquish or incision underdrive diff gears and axial overdrive diff gears. I’ve had zero issues with fitment or breaking on any of my cars ever. So whatever that’s worth there ya go. I’d 100% buy any of them again. I’ve bought 3-5 sets of gears from those companies already

    @@westdesertwheeler2666 Thank you sir!! I picked up the incision capra portal overdrive gears 15/20, at my local hobby shop, because vanquish, and amain are out. Not sure how much overdrive that will give me to the front. Website said 1.33 to 1 vs the stock 1.92 to 1 ratio. Hobby shop guy said that would give me 33% overdrive in the front….that sounds incorrect, sounds like a lot, but around 30% overdrive in the front was what I was looking for. We’ll just have to see. Thanks again
