My New JD Moco 956!!

Picking up my new to me john deere moco 956 from the dealership! Cant wait till spring is here! grow grass grow
Hey everyone I am a 4th generation farmer, grew up in south central Nebraska living the farm kids dream. As I got older I was able to turn that dream of one day being a farmer into reality! Soon enough into farming I realized that I needed a second source of income to keep on top of todays lifestyle and invested into livestock! After a few years of watching youtube farms i decided to record our farm and how we operate. If you enjoy these videos please subscribe and follow along this journey!

If you have any rolling hills you'll want the bigger tractor on it, especially if you have heavy hay. I run a JD 956 on a Case IH 7130 which is 175 horse and it works well on it with having some rolling hills in the field.

I've been worried about that. I have a feeling I will be using the 7810 on it a lot. It's around that 175hp

My experience use the bigger tractor. Moco’s are heavy. 105hp may turn it. But you will not be able to run at its potential. Turning will be a tug or war. Lol

If you've got the horses, cutting 14.5' at a time will make quick work of a field.

You won't plug even in thick wet alfalfa as long as you run at a decent speed. We have had ours for 10 years and I cut over 800 acres this season between our own ground and custom work and I plugged once. Your feed quality will go up and your cattle will eat more than normal with less waist. Hopefully 2020 will be a great year for us farmer's with weather and markets .

You will be glad you bought that.... you can cut so much faster and cover more acres. Good purchase! Now you just need the rake! 👍🏼

Nice mower, your 6410 will have it's hands full with it. 7810 will run it much nicer. the rolls take a little more power to run than an impeller but the impeller beats the leaves of alfalfa, they work great for strictly grass hay

We have a 956. Works great! We pull it we with our jd 7520 (125hp) and we're able to go 12mph with it in marginal alfalfa. Not very often cuz u can barely stay in the seat by then. Usually go 9mph and it's comfy then.

Quick tip for you, set the volume of your music track at or below the volume of your voice track when compiling the video, otherwise you will blow the ears off of people using headphones when they have their volume set based on hearing you talk... ask me how I know 😲 😂😂😂

7810 so you're not disappointed. We had it on a 4030 which pulled it but the 4430 handles it with ease. I'll be curious how you like the rollers vs the impellor conditioner. If you like the rollers switch to the steel rollers and you won't plug as easily.

  • @JMfarmandcattle

I've never ran the impellor conditioner. My last one was steel on rubber and this one is rubber on rubber. I'd like to see the difference between impellor and rubber though!
