My new FAVORITE Milky Way Photography Tip & it’s PERFECT for right now!

Ғылым және технология

Do you know where the Milky Way is going to be in 1-hour? I do! With this tip you will have a guidestar for knowing where the Milky Way will be in an hour! This means that even when the Milky Way galactic core hasn’t crossed above the horizon yet, you have a star that is sitting there an hour beforehand guiding you to where PRECISELY the Milky Way core will be positioned. What an easy way to line up your composition! You don’t have to trust the position of your augmented reality view of the Milky Way based on the location you are standing - and be dependent on your phone being perfectly accurate - you can know exactly where to position and be fully ready for capturing the awesome Milky Way galactice core! I love this tip!

Awesome, Steve! It’s so so helpful. I love seeing how much time I have left until the Milky Way moves away from my comp too. Seeing when Antares goes off screen I know, wow I gotta hurry to get this shot now. Thanks for watching as always, Steve! -Aaron

Such a good tip thanks, I knew from Kristine Rose photography, but I didn't realise it was approximate time gap

I've gotten color out of antares and that cloud before but have never been able to replicate it. might just have to get a damn full spectrum

I went out to shoot the Milky Way at Joshua Tree National Park but was disappointed with the amount of light pollution in Southwest part outside of the park. I didn't go empty handed: I got a selfie with Andromeda and the Pleiades. I need to reshoot the Pleiades as I only got 24 light subs because of the clouds crashing the party. Planning to go back in August. This time I will also try to shoot Rho Ophiuchi with my 135mm.
