Everyone’s ear is different, I always adored Joe Morello - so my ear gravitates to a brighter sound. I wasn’t in love with the super dry trend going on a few years ago, but I love flat rides. The comeback renaissance of small cymbal makers is beautiful to see, because I’m hearing new unique sounds all the time now. Instead of the big box flavor of the month I grew up with.

Yeah Morello and his Zildjian Avedis was always classic stample for me how 50s 60s As should sound. If it was me I would go with Ks in that small band settings but he made As sing and sound absolutley wonderful.

LOVING that 22. That bell is just so clear, I would say it would sit nicely being used in a heavier band. Time to start rummaging down the back of my sofa.

If I’d been your snare, I'd have fallen off the shelf too! The vibe of the cymbals activates one’s mojo! The sound is really magical! I wouldn't say either of those two cymbals is better than the other. They complement each other perfectly and make a unique combo. Whichever position I would place the 22" and 24" in, I believe each can work great as the main ride in different songs. They both ride smoothly, have awesome bells, and the sound when activated in the middle position is otherworldly, and with the drier 22", that sound when bursting in the middle position is so unique I've never heard anything like it. I deeply admire your work, Timothy! Thanks for your videos. Keep it up!❤

Both great rides, really like the look of the scratch latheing, too. My preference was the 22", the bell is clearer, and overall it seemed to have less wash (I'm not a fan of too much wash, and sustain on ride cymbals). I'd love a 20", similar to the 22" you just demonstrated. Great work, Timothy.

I think I like the lower tone of 24" personally. I enjoy the dryness and how the wash of the cymbal remains subtle. Nice bell sound. Both sizes are excellent however!

So these are right up my alley. My weeks look like Jazz on Sunday, Country Monday, Metal Tuesday and Americana on Thursday or some variance of that.I wind up using a ride and a crash or a couple of rides and a crash most of the time, so I need to be able to ride on them all and crash on them all.I also love playing the bells on all of them so I like that you are really focusing on them as well as the rest of the cymbal.I am going to the Chicago Drum Show in May and I think you are coming?I hope so and it would be cool if you had some of these cymbals there.I like them both, but I think something like the 22" could be my main ride, I love so may things about it.I have a Crescent that is similar, but it is too dry and there is no shimmer to it.Yours has dryness, but also shimmer and a great bell to boot.

@@ReverieDrumCo At 10:30 I hear it most prevalent. Like two fundamental (not sub) tones separated by a few hertz causing a vibrato. The harder you hit the bell at other parts of the video, the less it is noticeable.

I was thinking I’d see a 20 came out. I’m betting it’s there somewhere. Love the shape and its effects on the 22. The way the wash is contained on the 24 is real virtuosity, but yes, maybe a slightly larger bell.
