Im going to be honest thats the perfect base for a 1/10 scale TOYOTA LANDCRUISER, you gotta wrap it the same as your big cruiser! (become twinsies)

Nah bro I think it needs a different wrap. The sandy torpe colour would definitely scream beach vibes. But I think a new look is needed. Especially bc the 79 is the same colour. How about a baby blue interior though? Ocean vibes...

@@dcameron0500 Oh yeah baby blue would look nice inside, Maybe change the line colours to some blue / mint colours to have a flowy vibe.

you could even try replicate a holden sandman vibe with the outside

It'd be the best 4wd with a Toyota badge then. 😉
Leave the front bar mate, just give it a freshen up, it's the toughest looking thing on the car. And old mates suggestion of wrapping it like your Landcruiser, absolute gold, that is a must do.

Second that. A bit of polish and highlights will go a long way. That thing is way less offensive than anything tube based... Engine options either Suzuki G16 injected with a little turbski on the side (a well trodden path) or a modern twist maybe a Suzuki M18 or M20 with a similar helpful spooly friend for the noises and grins.
One hundred percent turbo rotary. Imagine hearing brap brap brap from a little sierra. Would be comical
4A-GE turbo would be awesome in that car!!!

Hell year
My mate had one as bush basher back in day, one time he couldn't get it started so he tried to roll start it down small slope beside cane field running alongside pushing he tripped trying jump back in and got his leg's ran over and sierra ended up in cane field 😂
I love the bar on it haha
A one day project for me is one of these, swapping a R1 motorcycle engine in and keeping both gear boxes. A fun rev happy engine in a light 4x4 bouncing down the beach…
Sorry mate, I haven’t seen u build anything. I’ve seen you pay discounted prices to get someone else and your mates to build stuff.

3.8 commo engine and th700 with coils and some decent wheels. Perfect....also a rollcage

Fuck I just randomly suggested the same thing then seen your comment! I’m with you mate the Buick 3.8’s would be sick. Pretty torquey
k24 turbo swap lesgoooo
Once its done you should do a challenge with jock in his little beast clifford
As a Sierra driver for the last 4 years since I got my license, I’m keen asf to see this, but I’m not keen to watch you make it 20x better than mine in 5% of the time 😂

Dw he’ll probably make it worse
My mum had a soft top Sierra when I was a kid , few doors down a neighbour had a turbo sierra with a efi conversion .... made 300 at the wheels .... was a rocket to watch go down the road
Having just built one recently I went through all the options and read opinions from other zook owners to come up with our recipe. Ended up going with 1.6 baleno motor, 31's 2 inch lift, reduction gears, twin locked, exo cage = good fun and capable. Mrs and I also went touring and lived out of it for 4 months. Biggest thing is trying to keep the weight down low as they like to lift tyres and tip happy being swb. High HP swaps need to consider the driveline being able to hold up sure you could put in bigger gearbox and diffs etc but kind of getting away from what makes a zook fun.
About time, a decent car!
Awesome mate, I’m half way through my LJ70
Polish the front bullbar and keep it , suits the car

That or ho black to match the flares. I think the shape is perfect for Nostalgia
You are about to discover that little zooks are NOT the most capable 4wd out there, but easily the MOST FUN. You can wheel them hard, but they make you learn to 4wd. Just trust me, don't bother trying to make it good on the highway. 👍
This is gonna be sick! I like the bullbar
a stock looking bumper that’s custom steel would look sick

Let's fing go!
I’ve been doing 1.6L 16V Suzuki Sidekick engine installs on these for a while, they are a huge upgrade. Look forward to the build 🤘😎
Hell Yeah Sam. We are building a 91 SJ70 Sierra with my 16 year old daughter as I write. We are looking forward 2 seeing what you do. Just so ya know that 15 inch, f100 rims are supposed 2 fit as that is what we have been told we have on ours. Also Suzi sport at Lawnton. Can get ya any parts except panels. That's what he told me as I live down the road.
I knew ittttt! 😂😂! you must name it 🎉

Haha any name ideas? 😅😂
The ultimate beach rock crawler that's what I see it doing tuff tracks I the million dollar track or the Balfour track these are the types of budget build I would keep in mind to minimise the damage to axles and running gear
How did you find a boat ramp to film at that noone is using?
Vitara engine fits nicely in those. As for wheels. Same stud pattern as pre 95 F-100, F/150 Jeep wheel flares can easily be fitted to let you cut the guards to fit bigger tyres. You can also fit Dana 44 axles from a wrangler. Or find some GQ or hilux axles to beef it up a bit. Find or Build a steel bar with a single center hoop with KC Lights and a winch. The winch adds a little weight to keep the front on the ground slightly longer. I'd look at coil over conversion if budget can extend that far. But at least a SOA conversion and remove a leaf or 2.
Yeah boi !!
that’s clean now i know why ya been hitting the gym it’s a work out driving them weapons 🙌🥳
I've got a coil sierra and I looked everywhere for a bar like this, in the end bit the bullet and bought an arb one. Keep the bar!!!
I recently swapped my 08 falcon, to an 05 fiesta, to a 97 Suzuki Vitara. Absolutely love it. Not too bad on fuel for a daily driver, but it lets me get that little bit further out bush. I'd love to give it more of a restoration but just waiting for some things in my life to pan out first
Coils over the leafs would be cool to see and to keep cost low and give the benefits of coil. Essentially you pull all the leafs out to only what's required to keep the diffs there nicely or replace the leafs with super soft one's and then coils are placed over the leaf springs.
@jakegalczynski9898
19 күн бұрын
Considering they only run 3-5 leaves in a stock pack, if you remove any more you'll spend the whole time bending main leaves every time you let the clutch out. And yes, to contain the axle wrap you can build a truss on the diff and fabricate a track bar... But considering how little room there is in between the axle tube and chassis in the first place, there's barely going to be enough room for a coil that's substantial enough to contribute anyway. And then you have the lateral movement problem. Ultimately in a car this light, coil-over-leaf has no place. Strip it out and coil convert it, or make the most of the simplicity of the leaves
That’s a funny looking patrol 😂
Nice choice sammy👌
I had an SJ413 in the 90s and loved it. Let's see how you go with this one
Awesome awesome awesome. Hey mate, I took out No1 spot last year in Sam’s BnB Show n Shine with my Jimny. I’m Sydney base so if you want some ideas let’s hook up. Bonnet scoop home built and twin locked now. Can’t wait for the next vlogs. I can also hook you up with Sydney’s no1 Zook mechanic. Get in touch.
Keep the bar, best part of it,
Can confirm you can have friends and own a Jimny or SJ
Sr20 Nissan engine. Plenty of snub nose gearboxes that have transfer cases which can fit on the back to keep 4wd 💪🏼💪🏼
YESSS Big things LOVE My samurai!!! 88 🤙 upgraded to the 1.6 8v wish I had the diesels you guys out that way do
Cool patterned material soft top would be super retro cool. Would look great with stock wheels again or something similar that’ll fit bigger tires. ARB’s bull bar for the sierra looks pretty retro in my opinion. Toyota 3k Carby swap and maybe newer Swift seat swap.
Subscribing for this build
Poor mans 40 series 😂 keen to see what ya do with it
Volkswagen 2L turbo diesel or even the 1.6 out of the polo would be a sick conversion
Wow maybe I should have bought a lotto ticket because I would have been a winner. I thought you might of bought an old school Zook . Maybe put a Roll cage and a nice lift and some upgrade wheels and tyres. Probably a 1600 turbo motor in it . And some nice sounds and some racing seats and sports wheel
built rotary, custom alloy bar w/intercooler integration out the front, but still "in" the bar, skinny but tall tyres, alloy rims, has to stay lightweight, no steel.
id love to see you put a rotary in this little beast, get it doing wheelies
I’m on the tail end of putting a vw 1.9td in my 96 vitara, which ppl also put in the little sierras - torque for days. Iv also seen videos of vitaras with LS swaps … might be a tight fit in the Sierra, but would be wild
ZOOK! ZOOK! ZOOK! ZOOK!
id put a 3cyl from a gr corolla with the 5sp manual. id aslo retro fit the later model dash (with ac and stereo) as its the same cab
I was waiting watching the clock for 4 to hit. First!
Those Hankook dyna pros you called garbage are the only tyres ive been able to get 80k kms from a tyre brand. Best bang for buck tyres.
I have a lwb stockman as my engine crane... it has a 202 and trimatic running into the transfercase keeping it 4x4
6a12 Mivec 2.0 v6 200hp 200nm 8500rpm. Will fit better than the stocker (short and wide) will love the Suzuki’s stock gearing and will sound wild.
I have a Suzuki stockman we’re putting a built 4age in its got a leaf over conversion and etc 🎉
Love it stock... but if motor swapped... period correct holden 304 5L 😍 all the way!
More interior features than a 79, pretty well equipped!
A L67 supercharged 6 commy engine would be pretty sweet
My carby coily boy cost the same. Sydney drags?
Should get a JWB customs bar it’s a weld together kit that only costs around $400 just gotta do your own posts/hoops
Put a hard top on put stock bars on it but put a nudge bar on for lights
Refit: SUBARU...WRX 2.5L boxer engine!! Have fitted one before a number of years ago in a Suzi hard top...went like a rocket! 😊
4A-GE would be sick in this
An ls would be sick
Hmm rotary are a cool option but I think a G16E-GTS would be a better option for the size of build and keeping it an piston engine.
An FJ20DET or a 4G63T would be sick!!!
32x10.00r15 Maxxis Roxxzilla for the tryes. A few boys in NZ have run them on these.
Alloy front and rear bumper replacement custom made slimmed design.. and as for engine SR20!!! Driftaling every gear tryna keep her straight! 👌🏽😉😂
2 inch lift with 29's fit and flex without issues. Stick a GR yaris 3 cylinder in it. With 79 series landcruiser diffs.
Definitely a rotary its so gool little big bird
All it needs for beach is a temp guage and viscous fan and it’s set 👌 Maybe some reductions and lockers Please leave the suspension stock!!! Lifts are shit in zooks!!
Is that the new single cab 79 series with the facelift?
@SamYoung4x4

😂😂😂😂😂
I would put a 4jj1 or 1gd
Sr20 for sure
13b twin turbo rotary 🤤
Engine wise going for a G16b from a beleno and adding a mild cam grind is basic, bolt in, reasonably cheap and slightly more power than the rest of the drive train can handle.
I put a 1.6 baleno in one a few years ago and turbo’d that but if i could do it again I would drop in a honda k24
Cummins 4BT would be a choice.
The vitara/baleno 1.6 fits in these pretty easy
4jj1 swap . Little sootzuki
for a front bumper why dont you keep that bullbar and just cut the hoops off?
It needs a big fu*k off 5 poster
This is sweet! The 1.9 VW TDI engines are pretty good and perfect siE
@Hackapoid18

No just no Diesels and zooks don’t go together
Pretty sure they do exotic conversions for them
4age turbo plz
4AGZE engine conversion would be mint !!
Good thing you have lost all the weight Sam, would be a tight squeeze in your previous form 😂. You got the Aircon wrong it has heaps.
@SamYoung4x4

😂😂😂😂😂😂
Put a k20C engine in the little beast
Id chuck a 6g72 v6 twin turbod in it😂
1.6 suzuki swift sport motor or the older 1.3 suzuki swift Gti motor go great in these things , i had an lj50 back in the day and was running an old datsun motor in it and the fucking thing screamed fully registered and all , great little 4x4s that are very capable and off road will show any patrol or Toyota landcruiser owner up 😂
Ecotec would be mental
Would love to see it with a 1.6 TDI
If money didn’t matter a ZZ632 motor would be mad 🤣 10.3L of V8 chev fury. Makes 1000hp @ the crank, from factory on 93 octane
Do a spring over axel(soa)
So you bought a Jimny. The Samurai is just a Jimny wide body with an engine larger than 660cc.
Motor could be a 20b ROTOR. However a 13b would be a better fit, either that or a Turbo Hyabusa engine.
1.6 swift engine with ITB’s 🤙🏼
4.3 v6 vortex
I would extend the front of the chassis and the put a put the Almighty, six cylinder Barra
V6 out of a commodore. Yes they sound like a cow getting dragged by a tractor but they are cheap, reliable and easy to mod. Plus AC, powersteering and an alternator that does all your charging properly
