I just bought one again. I'd owned a 2004 back in the day, and after looking at today's models and cost. I decided to get back into a 2005 version. Mine's got 30K, but is still in pristine condition. I most happy that I'm so familiar with it. Have to say you've got a gem there for all the reasons you mentioned. LOVE IT!

Picked same model year up 4 months ago. It has been a blast. Love this bike. Very fun even though it is on the heavier side. Enjoy!

I bought a 2002 1150RT back in May ‘23 after a 30 year hiatus. I previously had a 1982 R100RT. I’ve put about 3,500 miles on with just short rides around home base. So far, I’ve replaced battery, tires, and starter. Runs great. Been out for a ride already this year. You can get a Bluetooth receiver for about $40 - play Spotify through it to your speakers.

Just bought an 03 the other day! I love the bike so far! Everything is like a car. Driveshaft, transmission with clutch, and oil change is super easy!😊

I just bought a 2002. Never owned a BMW nor a heavy bike, but after about an hour I feel very comfortable.

Have a 2004, the long way around bike. Finally finishing some issues from it falling on left side and needing a nose fairing and mirrors from an accident before I bought it. Did the work myself and adding a top box connected to the rear seat for groceries. Mine has about 20 K miles. It has fahrvergnugen! (The enjoyment of riding)

Nice looking bike and really low mileage. I own a 2004 R1150RTP from the German Air Force Police. It is a one seater with a radio box where your duo seat is. Love it, I put a slightly larger screen on mine and rode it from Belgium to the south of France, very comfortable. Good luck with it.

I've got a 2003 plate I've had for 18 months. Came from an mt09. Love my RT1150, so comfortable, practical and great for eating up miles. ABS was playing up and dual braking was intermittent so had it removed as replacing it was over £1000. Mines on 65,000 miles and still rides beautifully.

I'm considering buying a BMW R1150RT, as I've come across one for sale on craigslist at a good price. Dual braking is one feature I don't want. My latest bike is a 2001 Concours 1000 that I rode almost daily for eight years. When stuck on the highway in congestion, I use front brake, along with proper steering, to keep balance at very low speed. I've never had ABS on a bike, so I wouldn't miss it.

I bought an 04 2 months ago. Had 66,000 miles when I got it but it has all the service records from the bmw dealership. One owner as well. Had upgraded brake lines, brake servos and all. I've put over 2,000 miles on it already.

I bought that exact bike 2 years back. Couldn’t be happier with it. So have you accessorized it yet?

Get ready to have problems with abs. Very quirky. Very expensive and complicated to work on. My advice..... remove them

Nice video, I'm riding an ST1300 and struggle with its 730lb weight. Looking at an R1150RT or an R1200RT. Curious if you looked at R1200RTs

I did look into the r1200rt but found this 1150rt that was clean and got a good deal on it. Yes, I had a k1200lt that was close to 900 lbs….was just incredibly heavy. The reduced weight of the 1150 makes it more nimble/enjoyable to ride while still being a quality touring bike

@@SztormiakStudio the weight is nothing crazy in my opinion. I had a k1200lt and that was insanely heavy- the bike had a reverse gear on it because you could not back it up on your own- it was like 900 pounds. So for me- this 1150rt feels pretty light and maneuverable.
