Cory and master breeder Dean are back working on the cinder block rack of aquariums, focusing on installing three lines of plumbing for the automatic water change system and air supply for filtration. Over the course of 2 days, they meticulously measured out, cut, and glued the PVC piping and then checked the system for leaks. They also installed the first fish tank from Custom Aquariums - a 65-gallon tank with ultra clear glass for viewing and a black enamel background.

as a plumber, that was a great slope!😉
You can tell how genuine Dean and Coreys friendship is, they never speak over each other and it never feels awkward at any point, just two friends chilling out doing what they enjoy, love it.

I love that cory let's dean speak so much now. If you watch some of the older videos he tried a lot harder to steer the conversation but seems like he does that less now and just let's dean speak.

Agreed. It's a rare occurrence, and they make it look normal and easy.
I love how approachable this is! You both have fish rooms that are absolutely stunning, but you break it down into pieces that novices can do!
Wow that looks lot of work
I love the little clips of dean 🤣
Thanks to visit and meet at the vivarium aquariumshow in the netherlands Cory! Hope to see you next year!!
this little series came out right when I'm building out my fishroom and all of this has been invaluable on me building out my own.
This fish room is really turning into a work of art, it shows the progression of both Cory and Deans knowledge and innovation!
I love these gentlemen’s channel
Love Dean’s Spongebob timestamps! ❤
I love watching videos of you guys, there's nothing better than working on fish room projects with a good friend! 😊
Please ask Dean if his looking for some extra cash, I'm a plumbing contractor and I'm looking to add another plumber to my crew ! I pay top dollar !!😆
Met Cory at Vivarium today, got a poster and a photo, it was awesome!
This was so fun to watch! Putting stuff together and just having it work perfectly is so satisfying 🙏🏽💗
Love Watching you and Dean together great job 👏 🤗
It’s just lovely watching you two guys do that together. Thanks for sharing. It seems like quite the system. I hope it works great. :)
I've been so looking forward to seeing this set up! Heckkkkin awesome job y'all!
Your suburban fish barn/fish farm renovation is much like cleaning my rack system, except chronic illness means I have to space it out over 3 to 5 days, and plan oxygen supplies for fish accordingly. How awesome!!!!
Loving all the changes to the fish room!!
Sometimes I think you guys just injoy doing the work.
I love fish room videos!
Looking great gents.
You are very lucky to have such a wonderful friend.
Two diy tips, if you use a threaded bulkhead on the outside and connect a barbxthread elbow and loosely lower the tank over the 2-3" drain pipe you can drain and remove a tank and not damage the plumbing and it puts no pressure on the acrylic. Other one being, if you want to heat PVC without the chance of a kink you can bake sand to 400 degrees, funnel it inside, bend to shape, and then remove the sand, sort of a pain but looks really clean
Super clean set up love it!! 🔥🔥🔥
Heatgun is one of my go to Harbor Freight items. $10-15, and mine has actually lasted several years now.
so cool!!! it's all coming together!!!!
Absolutely love the new setup. Everything you do in your fish room I enjoy and hope to use similar or the same methods in my own future fish room. Your awesome Cory keep it up your channel is extremely influenced my channel. 👍👍👍👍
Dean content is the best content!
we need more dean

Looking goodd! 🔥 such a cool build
Wow, what an amazing project! Dean and Cory...you two are pretty talented. I would need an engineering degree and a plumber's apprenticeship to complete a project such as this.
Nice Pac good color too.
Glad to hear that wood prices are dropping. I've been holding out on some projects because the prices have gone so crazy.
I wish I could work for you guys. I think that would be the funnest most enjoyable job ever.
Awesomeness at work 👍💖👍
This Videos are the Best!
Your aquariums are so nice. Love the super clear tank. How about keeping YOUR favorite fish in there. I enjoy seeing all the fish you keep. I have kept fancy goldfish for many years. I had a heater burn up my tropical fish, now have kept only goldfish for decades. Love My water puppies-
That was fun, god i need to stop being lazy and just do things the slow and steady way
Gotta love Dean
Very nice setup
Great. Right before Christmas looks like I’m going to have to replace all my Fluval 3.0’s with coop lights. Corey is genius LOL
love your videos
i like that 65!
Great job.....
I'm so plumbing illiterate! wish i had a dean to help me do this. lol. great job
awesome video
Awesome
😂 love the peep hole to watch the water, hope it’s got a screw cap for when not in us? If the drain system block past that and backs up ittle flood from that hole instead of backing into the tanks.
Dean is worth his weight in gold….. can I borrow him? ❤️🇦🇺
more dean more dean more dean
I plumb for Wolfe in Washington state and prices are outrageous we have to be so frugal with the fittings
A few true union ball valves may be a wise addition when it comes to future maintenance/problems that will occur
👍😎 Awesome

Anyone else studying the prototype light in the reflection at 15:15??? Totally ready to ditch my old aquasky to give this one a go!! Lookin good :P If you're selling any prototypes, would you bring some to Aquashella Chicago?
I do love that your friendship meal is tacos
There are led replacements for those lights, high longevity

lol.... those are like 20 gallon tanks. they're nowhere near heavy enough to mess up 2x4s..........
Dear Dean. What is your preferred live food and by how much? Do you prefer live brine shrimp or live blood worms and by how much? Are brine shrimp the ultimate or is it mainly a convenience issue?
I think I just watched Dean discover an O(1) runtime algorithm for putting handles on lids 😂
How do you prevent fish from being sucked into the outflow. Many years ago I built a similar system for my discus fish breeding setup. I solved this problem by gluing in a separate small, 5" by 5", compartment where one wall consisted of coarse open cell foam in front of the outflow. All the outflows dumped their water in one sump, the sump had an outflow to the garden. The pump was in the sump. In the separate compartment in each tank I placed an airlift, so that I could also isolate each of the tanks if necessary.
I would probably breed/keep Rainbows or Corydoras(using egg-mops) in the top tanks and keep the fry down below in the lower tanks, for grow-out... Or breed Apistos in top tanks+ put juveniles/fry in the low ones..!!??..or keep Psuedomugils in top tanks,(mops or moss on wood)+ use lower tanks for grow-out.. or perhaps do L-Plecos?--Low tanks are always a great alternative for grow-out..easy to reach into+feed+catch fish !! :D
Podziwiam super
Where’s your intake sponge there guy! 😂
“that didn’t taste good...” 😂
Duckweed strikes again! 😂😂😂
Why is the over flow drains glued in? If you need to remove one tank from the system you cannot. Have to cut ABS and you lose one bulkhead. Why not use a elbow down into a T unglued or a flex tube so you could pull one tank out? Or just dont care to remove a tank and 'if' you need to a bulk head and fittings is no big deal? (Also though ABS was a no-go on aquaria?)
It's always fun watching Dean. But I can't believe the effort and cost going into a flimsy cinder block rack. Cleaning up tumbled books or knick-knacks after an earthquake is one thing but grieving a whole bunch of beloved livestock is another. We forget the risk because the most recent quake was 'way' back in 2001, Magnitude 6.8, the Nisqually Quake, which cost $billions in damage. Magnitude 5+ in Puget Sound occur a lot more often, even a tiny 3.5 quake made my office move like I was surfing because of the sandy foundation soils under my building (I'm in BC).
@TazawaTanks

These racks actually perform well in earthquakes, as they allow for movement. I live in San Francisco, and my fishroom (built on these rack styles) has been through some shakes. I even made a video to explain how these stand up to shakes. I see your point though. At first glance, one would think that these stands would topple from a quake. In actually, having movement in a structure is preferred (see seismically upgraded structures and bridges).

@@TazawaTanks went and watched that DIY vid, thanks. I worked as a tech in civil engineering, I'm not convinced, but I'll hope for the best.

@@jimmyjames2022 I understand. The way that I see it here is that if there is a quake that’s large enough to topple my stands, the house is going to have bigger structural issues and probably won’t be inhabitable. Plus, I keep an extra insurance policy for this reason (broken tanks). 🫣😁
@jimmyjames2022

@@TazawaTanks I think your tank setup with a kind of Tetris layout provides cross bracing that dampens the shear movement of any one column of bricks, plus it looks like you mixed 4x8 and 8x8 which won't topple as easily. Whereas Cory's setup uses only 4x8 bricks, has no bracing and he's counting on the weight of tanks and water only. So shear could amplify the sideways shelve movement toppling the bricks.
You guys need a truck lol loading a mini van with cinderblocks is not ideal 😂
Duckweed gets everywhere. I think they can regenerate from microscopic fragments.
Ingenuity at its finest. I would put nano fish in the tanks.
Holy batman is that 2 inch? 3/4 would have been good
14:10 Was that edited to sound like the terminator theme or did I just imagine it?
Yoo Chris is saw you today man
I’m looking forward to buying a plant light from you. Are you going to make them in a 48” ?
@AquariumCoop
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, they will be in the common sizes
What's the reasoning for such a large bulkhead? What if you were to use a smaller bulkhead and drill higher on the tank? Love the setup and system, just don't like how the tanks can only be filled halfway.
😁👍
Instead of doing track lighting, putting in some LED can-lights would last longer and would be cheaper. It’s more labor intensive though because you have to cut holes in the ceiling.
@ATGaric
Жыл бұрын
Im sure the track lighting was figuring easy to move and change lights? Can put any of the 1065 LED bulbs avalible.
Any idea when it will be open?
Ok, does this work by constantly pumping water into the tanks which then overflow and drain? If that is how it works, how do you deal with the chlorine in the water? (I know how I handle it doing a water change all at once, but how would you treat for a continual flow?) Awesome work by the way!!! :)
@nathanshalduha3932

I had the same question? Maybe get your water through an RODI system then pump it into the tanks?
You should wear gloves when using primer. It seeps through your skin and can cause organ damage. I did irrigation for years. Just looking out for Dean 😆
There isn’t a comprehensive “auto water system” installation video series that explain benefits and tricks(how to attach to a home line ) with info on Product (like ur hot water digital regulator) . Nothing comprehensive. And it’s been a struggle to bring notes from all different series / KZreadrs into a final product. Or if there is a series out there.. I haven’t found it yet. Soooo please link hehe 🙈😇
1/4" per foot = correct drop
I’m surprise you don’t use knee-high pantyhose intake valves to use it to collect any of the debris that got stuck in the pipes then all we had to do was pull the patios off the pipe or reversing it was like a little trash bag built onto the pipe just one knee high and a rubber band . Old truck my brother and I used back in the 1960s course it takes a woman to think of it because she’s the one wears stockings.
What are we putting in those tanks?
What type of takes are those
I have never been so jealous of someone else’s job.
I know cory has said it in a few videos, but not sure where to find it. What kind of paint is used for painting on a background to a fish tank? Thanks in advance
@AquariumCoop

I use rustolium oil based paint normally.
Does anybody know where to find those fittings that connect the rigid PVC to the flexible water tubing? The one that Dean shows is a push fitting at 10:53? It looks like is screws into the threaded PVC T. Anybody know what to call that or where I'd find one?
