It's actually not as good as people assume. What ends up happening is the person grows up with a lowered ability in the languages. It's not as equal or as high level as monolinguals. If a person's bilingual, one will be lower while another is higher level etc.

Grace Osas well linguists talk about a critical/sensitive period. Generally, your ability to become a fluently native speaker declines as you age past teen years. The younger the better. But some people have a high aptitude for learning and can reach fairly high levels. You may always have a non-native accent though.

Grandma is so kind! Daniel's eyes are so beautiful!

Farah's mom seems like a very warm person.

The grandma is so admirable, she kept fasting eventhough she was doing it alone. Its true we should learn a lot from this family. They are very harmonious, willing to learn and help each other. Even the great-grandfather seems welcoming to Mario. Great episode!

I can relate to Daniel so much because my dad is Lebanese,my mom is Tunisian,I live in France and I learned English when I was very young so I can understand all of these languages and have so many cultures in my life that sometimes it gets a little messy in my head but I still try to adapt myself to each culture at the right time

Same my mom is comorian and maroccan so i understand and speak comorian and arabic and my dad is malagasy so i understand his language but i grow up in France so i understand and speak french but i also grow listening/reading/watching english thing so i can speak and understand it so i can relate you

Such a warm family that is open to different cultures. I love that they are teaching their son (and hopefully the daughter eventually as well) 4 languages, so he can communicate with all his family. Plus, it will be so useful for him to know so many languages in the future!

Daniel is so cuteeee, me encanta. As a mexican i feel so proud idk why but im loving them so much. They're such a beautiful family.

This was so nice to watch! What an amazing mix of cultures. Korean, Saudi and Mexican cultures are so different but share a lot of core values like respect for family, so this is such a loving and happy family.

The Saudi-Korean mix is gorgeous 😍 i’m Italian who lived for 2 years in south Korea and i never encountered this unique mix there

It's not good to mix though because a person can't really sustain all the cultures and continue them. Korean people are Buddhist and Shamanist. How is a Saudi child going to let go of being Muslim? Or do you expect Korean people to give that up and let the child be Muslim instead? Cultures need protection to continue.

Mockavel Velli The majority of Koreans are Christians with a hint of shamanism and a lot of them are kind of secular, they don’t feel the need to be connected to religion 24/7 , they are not religion freaks like people in the west, so they really don’t care about what religion you or your children are subscribe to ( hello an Atheist here ☺️) i’m talking specifically about Korea out of my experience there and as you can see in this video, this Saudi-Korean couple stayed married for more than 30 years and have a wonderful daughter who is proud of her Saudi and Korean heritages and speaks 3 languages , as long as there is love and understanding anything is possible, mixed-race children tend to be smarter and multilingual and more beautiful physically, they also can be exposed to different and new experiences in life and btw, she is Saudi AND Korean not Saudi only

Trinity DiCamillo actually thats a myth that mixed race children are smarter lol. I'm quite familiar with linguistics and bilingual or trilingual children when tested often have a lower level of language ability in ALL their languages compared to monolinguals. It's just too much to sustain. Thats fine if theyre not religious, but they shouldnt push their kid to be Muslim then either.

I think the reason Farah and Mario are so respectfull of each other bcuz of their cultural background!!! I Know it's Mexico and Saudi, Islam and Catholism but both are same in so many ways!!! Both culture have a tradition of respecting their parents, being modest, family gathering etc!!! Actually I see most of the conservative people don't like their kids marrying other races, religions but little do they know that they actually observe the same cultural thing!! Some may call the creator Allah and some God but both of them believe there's a creator!!! And also they're still celebrating their own cultures!!! I think this is one of those rare episodes where the wife didn't pressure the husband to learn her mother language and the husband also didn't pressure her wife to learn about his culture!! This is the real multiculturalism and real humanity we talk about!! Oh!! Did I mention thier kids being language geniuses??they will be such smart citizens..

My village is located between Jogjakarta and Semarang in Java Island, Indonesia..although tolerance is getting worse in my country, here where I was born we accept inter religion marriage as we have Islam, Christian, Buddhism, and Hinduism..I love it better than the city I work in, it is harder even to just practice religion in the open, other than Islam..

My favourite episode so far!! So proud of Farah for what she has accomplished so far. I also fell in love with her sweet kind woman. I like that they showed saudi in a good light.

oh Farah is the one who interviewed Exo and B.a.p when they debuted. I never knew she was half Korean and half Saoudi.

No wonder I've felt like I've seen her face and heard her voice from somewhere before! She was probably the one that interviewed EXO too if I'm not mistaken?

Luv the embracing of Multilanguage in this family. Wish more parents were more open to this concept. I believe it's the biggest gift you can give your chikdren not demanding they only speak one language. If you teach chikdren Multilanguage then if they're more open to language, than they're open to different cultural exchange. Like the grandmother because she embraces the same language concept. She's not demanding they only speak Korean.

Such a great family and such a huge diversity. It's great to know how to teach a child multiple languages. Thank you for this video. I can speak 6 languages and I needed to know how ti teach my child at least 3 languages. Thank you.

I totally understand how hard Farrah is working for her family, her career and herself. As a woman in 30s, I now just starting to have my own business, there are so many things to do and toworry about. Also under a pressure to have baby (from both side of the family). I am in a distress all the time. Its amazing how Farrah still looks bright and positive with her two babies and working. I need to stay positive to carry on my dream and my life. Love this eps!

Did anyone notice the husband Mario at the end says he doesn't want his mother-in-law helping his wife Farah? That he'd rather he and his wife go through it alone? Easy for him to say -- he's not the one at home all day taking care of the kids and all the chores. It's not he and his wife going through it -- it's just his wife Farah! The daughter Farah is really lucky to have her mom to help raise her kids. The husband is clueless.

Corona is a Latin word meaning Crown. See the pronunciation. Latin - Greek has been used in naming many scientific phenomens and all scientific names are usually Latin - Greco Loan words even Farisi and Arabic use certain Latin loan word. Corona seriously if u really want to make fun of someone make of Wohun Centre of Virology.. PRC.

Honstly its so hard for a kid to grow up learning 4 languages he is so smart for not gitting confused

Her mother seems to be very kind and nice ❤️ I felt sorry when thinking about the cultural shock, strictness, lack of freedom and gender equality she endured through her 30 years of life in my country. I’m glad to see her go back to Korea and live a normal life again with her family! .. 12:58 when I was eight years old, my parents got me a Minnie Mouse pinata. Me and some kids from the neighborhood broke it open and were upset that nothing came out. My mother forgot to put candies in it and thought that it came pre-loaded with candies from the store lmao
